I was in Greenfield Iowa volunteering to help the people after the tornado that hit the area. The air conditioner fan broke apart in one of the RV trailers. I called Ketelsen up and Jeff in parts quickly found the correct part for us and had it the next morning for us. Needed to get my class c rv unwinterized. Made an appointment for 9am & they were done 35minutes later. Really appreciate their professionalism, expertise & polite, friendly atmosphere. We had our RV gone through and it cost us $1200.00. We took it out camping the first time and 1/2 of the trailer didn't work. No microwave, no tv, no outlets working, frigerator not working, can't remember it all. I was real mad so to speak and didn't treat Jeff right, the service manager. After my wife talked to him a couple of times, he remembered someone else brought their camper in with kind of the same trouble. It ended up to be a bad fuse. He told us to check them, so we checked each one. They all were good till we got to the last one that was only partially in. We fixed it and behold, everything came on. We had been looking for a travel trailer for a few weeks. Visited many dealerships in the Des Moines area and had it narrowed down to one. Then on a whim we visited Ketelsen's. We visited with Salesperson Frank Brown. Told him what our top wish list were. Frank showed us a few units and was patient and answered all our questions. Even answered the ones coming from the female (surprisingly this was rare in our experience with other dealers). Frank understood Customer Service after the sale was also important to us. So he had Service manger come out and speak to us. Leon answered all of our parts & Service questions. We chose a unit that we liked. Explained we were doing our own financing and when we expected to have the cashier check. Frank then introduced us to Jen, Financing manager, who put together an amazing purchase agreement! We got delayed with work and actually purchased our travel trailer a week later than planned. When we arrived to take delivery we had a walk thru of the unit and full explanation of the unit, took roughly an hour. We then gave Jen the check for the unit. The service department installed our break unit and hitch. Roughly another hour and half later we were pulling off the lot. There parts department was able to sale us the main items needed such as hoses. They even gave us a $35 gift certificate to use. We then spent a wonderful weekend camping with our family. We had a small issue with our kitchen sink and called Frank Saturday morning who was more than happy to answer our question...even tho he to was camping with his family. read more

Brian Ballinger and James from Service Department will cause ruin to this dealer. They are in general an excellent team with good inventory and other employees excellent. But this two employees are not professional, they even retaliated me denying service today because I used my rights as a consumer and opened claim with BbB and Iowa Consumer Protection. Brian Ballinger even hung up on me when I called for second time to confirm that they have just denied service because I used my rights. Stay away from this dealer. One day James from the Service Department just entered the dealer and I was there, he just walked in front of me and did not say hi. I asked him if he have any issues to dont say hi and he responded that because I mentioned legal action he cannot say hi. Hopefully this feedback help others to stay away from tbis dealer at all. read more

I just sold my travel trailer I bought new from Ketelsen RV and picked up Memorial Day 2020. First, the one they told me was mine, was different than the one I picked up. Many items were missing and I had to fight with them over that. They did not explain the usage thoroughly, which led to me spending several hundred dollars in repairs. I used my trailer a dozen times in 2 years, and a health situation caused me to sell it this year. I called them hoping to receive an offer for it. They told me they weren't interested, good luck. I would never buy from them again, nor will they ever receive a recommendation from me. read more
