So this is the only time you will ever hear me complain about a wine glass. I was reaching for one on the second shelf of my kitchen, when a freak accident happened. It fell on my thumb and shattered. I pulled out a piece which I saw embedded on my thumb (I'm sorry for the gory details) and thought that I'm on the rode to a smooth recovery. Three weeks later, my wound is healed, but I got a stabbing pain on my thumb everytime I try to bend it. Ugh realization hit, I still got glass inside my thumb. After telling my primary doctor what happened, she referred me to Dr. Cho. Now comes Dr. Cho. He takes the time to hear your concerns, explains the procedure, very patient with me as I freaked out (internally) and has such a calming energy. Dr. Cho has great bedside manners and his energy makes you feel at ease. Dr. Cho remained available and was so prompt with answering my questions regarding post surgery and stitch removal. His professionalism stands out! I felt so supported throughout the whole process. I definitely don't want to say I will be back because that means I got hurt again. I was seen by Dr. Cho at his Grand Army Plaza office twice this week for a bad fall that resulted in nine stitches on my leg. Both were the best medical appointments I've ever had! The office is only scheduling patients one at a time so I was the only one in the office with the receptionist (I am forgetting her name, but she was equally welcoming and informative) from beginning to end. There's soft classical music playing, which was a nice touch given the chaos of the world right now and the hustle of NY in general. When I met Dr. Cho, he was attentive, listened with care to my concerns and provided a really supportive space to discuss a number of options for healing my scar and scar management. He removed my stitches and because he listened so well decided to leave one in for extra healing and pain reduction. He provided scar management recommendations I purchased on my own and access to him via text messages and a tentative follow up appointment in two weeks. THANK GOODNESS FOR DR. CHO!!! I met Dr. Cho at his Grand Army Plaza office after being the victim of a vicious pit bull attack. I was taken by ambulance to Methodist hospital where my face and ear were stitched and glued back together. I was supposed to meet with the plastic surgeon in the ER, but he was in surgery for the next several hours. Instead of waiting around for hours, I got a call from Joanne at Dr. Cho's office the next day and made an appointment. Dr. Cho was extremely empathetic as he listened to my story. As soon as he started speaking to me about how we were going to move forward together, I knew I was in the right place with the right doctor. Although he is an accomplished plastic surgeon, he treated me in his office as an ER doctor. For the next several days and weeks we fought to stave off infection. It seemed touch and go at first due to the severity of my injuries, but his expert abilities as a doctor and the masterful way he conveyed instructions for me to follow put me on the path to recovery. From the moment I met him, Dr. Cho and the amazing Joanne offered confidence and hope when things seemed at their bleakest. They accomplished this not by sugarcoating the challenges we faced, but by using facts, knowledge and experience. I/we have seen Dr. Kevin Cho twice. Once for a mole removal on the top of my hand, and once to sew my son's tongue closed after he bit through it at age 4. I will start with the less exciting procedure: I had a very deep type of mole on my hand that was not cancerous but my dermatologist wanted removed and unbelievably I have NO scar remaining. It was a brief procedure in his office and the results are amazing. In preschool my son was pushed into a playground ladder, slammed his chin into the ladder and bit fully through his tongue. The pediatrician said call a plastic surgeon, as we headed to Methodist/Presbyterian in Park Slope, and I thought of Dr. Cho who had done my hand so well. I called his office and he immediately went over to the hospital's pediatric ER to meet us. Because of his deft fingers and quick work, our son avoided having to go to the OR under general anesthesia. Dr. Cho put in 6 stitches on two layers, muscle and skin on top of tongue. It also healed very well. He stuck around to make sure our son was okay and was caring and warm with our son.
