Slight update here - noting that the psycho doctor was Vitaly Kramer. A horrible person. After seeing another dermatologist, they were horrified to learn of my experience here. They said "of course we would have numbed it" and gave multiple options for doing so. SINY just said "I don't do that", and burned my face raw without even giving results. I also didn't note how there was a second dermatologist in the room who was in training, and did nothing but laugh at my pain. Please do not go here. They don't deserve your business. read more

Huge fan of SiNY Dermatology! I've been using this practice since Dr. Lucas (IYKYK) for my annual mole check and any skin anomaly. The office is clean and efficient and Dr. Gruson is great. She is extremely thorough, found a mole between my hubby's toes, removed it painlessly and thankfully it was benign. I may have gotten more than a mole check the last time I was there but that's between me and my doctor. ;) read more

Went to the SINY website, which directed me to Zocdoc to make an appointment. I did so, selecting an appointment for "botox" from a dropdown menu. Arrived and checked in, was shown to a room. Two medical assistants asked what I'd come for. I said, "botox." They made a note. After 10 minutes, the PA came in. He asked me what I'd come for, and we discussed the areas I'd like to be treated. Then, he revealed that he was actually out of Botox (and similar drugs). He said he had used it up earlier in the day. He apologized. He suggested I return in a week. My questions are: why didn't someone call me to cancel the appointment? Or, why didn't someone run over to one of their other locations to pick up more Botox? read more

I booked an appointment with a dermatologist, showed up on time, only to be told that they had mistakenly scheduled it for a different day. I insisted on being seen by a doctor (MD), but was misled and ended up seeing a physician assistant (PA) instead. Afterward, I called the office to explain the situation, and a woman named Yvonne literally yelled at me, blamed me for their scheduling error, and said they couldn't do anything to help. Absolutely unacceptable behavior and customer service. I will not be returning -- avoid this place at all costs. read more

Been coming here on a monthly basis for approximately a year and love it! They open up at 9 am sharp which is typically when I arrive. You're greeted with a good morning and checked in immediately. The facility is clean with modern furniture. I'm usually in and out whenever I come here. Despite being here early, there's usually a handful of people already waiting to be seen. Okay I had a horrible experience once with a dentist that had great reviews on ZocDoc and 3 stars on Yelp and ever since I've been really wary of ZocDoc reviews because the dentist cancelled my appointment so I couldn't write a bad review - so don't trust ZocDoc because that happens! Anyways, I bring that story up because I was a little nervous because this place has good reviews on ZocDoc but only 3.5 on Yelp as I write this. With that said, my experience here was great and far exceeded my expectations/alleviated my concerns. I went to Dr. Vitaly Kramer because I've literally had the cold sore from hell. Five weeks later it's not healed, and I've never had one this long. He made me feel better that this is normal and I won't scar (most likely/hopefully/he's optimistic) and prescribed me two topicals plus acyclovir to take daily, which I used to take and was super beneficial but I had stopped taking it. He listened to my concerns and took plenty of time to answer a LOT of questions. I also had a few skin tags on my neck - small ones. He zapped them off for me quickly so I'm glad to be done with those. The office was super clean, and the staff was very nice. I waited basically no time for my appointment. Dr. Kramer's assistant was also very nice and helpful! I'm glad to have a new dermatologist to return to because my last one was way too far away. read more

This is not a serious practice. First, I had an allergic reaction to a cream that Vitaly Kramer prescribed (he is not a physician, I later learned, he is a physician's assistant). I left them a message about my reaction, nobody called me back. I called again and got an appointment with Jessica Dawling for the following week. She prescribed me a new cream. The rash kept increasing. I called her two days later and she asked me to keep using the same medication, even though I explained that the rash was growing and it was very itchy. I woke up the next day with my eyes and lips swollen. I called her and was kept waiting on the phone for 40 minutes. I ended up going to CityMD and the doctor there prescribed me steroids right away, he actually have me the first dose in his office. It seems that SINY's expertise is Botox application. But even if I used Botox, I wouldn't trust them with it. read more

Unfortunately I had a really bad experience here-- they charge you a $150 "new patient fee" which they do NOT tell you about in advance. Then they did a "light" treatment on a skin marking I had, which they said would cost $75. I decided to go ahead with it, but it had zero effect-- and then they sent me a $370 bill. When I called and said the treatment clearly had no impact, and the cost was MUCH higher than what they quoted me, they said, "Sorry, there's nothing we can do. Whoever told you that price was wrong but that's too bad. And the doctor still saw you so you still have to pay." Total rip-off-- I will never go here again. read more

I think your experience really depends on the doctor you see. Over the past year and a half, I've seen Dr. Petrosian, Dr. Kramer, and Dr. Karp, and I had great experiences with the latter two. Both listened to me with care and made actionable recommendations that I could move forward with. Those recommendations helped! With Dr. Petrosian, I felt like I was being ignored and gaslighted. For reference, I have a documented autoimmune disorder that I see a rheumatologist and take medication for. In my intake paperwork, I listed my rheumatologist as one of my care providers and specified that he was a rheumatologist. Still, during our appointment, Dr. Petrosian asked me if I was sure that I had that autoimmune disorder, and asked me how I knew I had it. When I started to tell him about my process of being diagnosed, he interrupted me part way through and told me that 3% of people have similar test results, but they're completely healthy. This is a chronic condition that has caused me a lot of pain and has forced me to give up a lot in my life since being diagnosed. Being doubted and told my experience might be exaggerated or non-existent was extremely offensive to me. I almost walked out on the spot, but I had already taken the time off work to make this appointment and I didn't want to have to do that again. He also pushed me into using a pharmacy that was not covered by my insurance, ensuring me that it would be better, faster, and a similar price, but it was 3x the cost, took the same amount of time, and I had to call them to hound them to deliver my prescription. read more

The actual medical treatment is fine but the communication is horrendous. I go in to get a medical treatment three times a week and was told that I could come in at any time and that I didn't need an appointment. Multiple times I've come all the way out and then been unable to be seen. One time they said there were no doctors in the office, one time they said the machine was broken and sent me over to Bay Ridge where they couldn't find my file at first and were very rude about it, and most recently I showed up to the office at 9am and everything was closed. When I finally managed to get a hold of someone on the phone they said again that there were no doctors and that I'f have to come back at 12pm. Time and money wasted. All of this could have been avoided if they'd reached out to their patients like me who receive this treatment (and thus were told to come at any time) to let them know when there were changes. read more

I made an appointment two weeks ago for my husband to do a mole check today. When he walked to the clinic, there was a paper taped to the door saying the clinic was closed today. No other information, just that the clinic was closed. Nobody ever contacted him to let him know that his appointment would be canceled. Waste of time. I did not have a positive experience. My consultation was rushed and the dermatologist did not seem to want to be bothered with my concerns. I also did not like that the dermatologist assumed I would not be willing to pay out of pocket for services nor did he even give me the option. The proper way to say something is, "This is considered a cosmetic service and your insurance will not cover it, however you can of course pay out of pocket if you are still interested." Zero options were given to me. I wonder why the option of paying for a service was never a consideration? I felt like I was being profiled because of my insurance / appearance when in actuality I came here ready to spend money, but that option was never even given to me. Hopefully this was just an off day at this office and this is not a common occurrence, but I will not be returning. read more

Not everyone has the resources & privilege of going to specialists so clear communication is key. Make sure to read the fine print and ask several questions so there are no surprises. This review is well overdo but needed because I want to make sure nobody goes through what I did....I went to see Dr.Sergey Petrosian at the end of February/beginning of March I believe..The visit was wonderful him and his staff were so friendly and nice...I was so happy to find a dermatologist so close to my place and super friendly..then everything took a turn after my surgery..I had initially went to see him due to some skin discoloration under my feet..After a biopsy he determined I needed to have an excision on a spot under my right foot and it would be done by the surgeon Dr.Ezra...He told me I would need 3 weeks off me knowing how my body heals with piercings and prior surgeries that I would need more time...I remember when he sent me in the back to fill out the paperwork with Crystal I told her I may need more than 3 weeks off she then stated when the time comes I can see that doctor and we can go from there don't worry..after the procedure I wasn't giving any crutches and walked on my toes to avoid popping my stitches even though Dr Ezra said it would be fine if it popped..I still wanted to avoid that pain anyway possible..When April 23rd came around I still had so much pain under my foot..When I went to see Dr Sergey for a follow up explaining my pain..he just put the light on it and used his microscope to determine nothing was wrong and no keloid was present..At this point I was in tears and told him it hurts so bad there's no way I'm making this up and Im upset because I just wanted to feel back to normal again..he just pulled my sock back down and declined to give me more days off and told me to see Dr Ezra if I wanted more days off..I remember even telling crystal after seeing Dr Sergey that my job sent me home because they seen something was wrong..her exact words that I remember to this day were " well I don't know if you told them your feet hurt or something but the Doctor doesn't see nothing" I was in disbelief I was being treated like this..I wasn't gaining nothing by taking more time off if anything I would be losing money due to the fact I used all my sick time when my mom passed..l was so scared to lose my job but I couldn't go into work because my foot was in so my pain...luckily my job whom I worked for 7 years knew this wasn't like me and was very supportive keeping me off the schedule until I seen Dr Ezra..When I went to see Dr Ezra at his bay ridge office(staff is amazing there by the way) he took his time with my foot peeled some dead skin off the wound and seen it wasn't all the way healed and the feeling I was feeling was actually swelling that would acquire after too much time on my foot..I was so happy he listened to me and didn't make me feel like a liar :( then gave me more time off and told me keep my feet elevated..after that I was healed in no time...Avoid Dr Sergey if you want a doctor that listens to you and cares about more than just the money..but please see Dr Ezra super compassionate and great listener read more
