Had my first visit today. Lower back feels great but more importantly, the doc may have saved me a knee operation. Immediately following adjustment he wisked me right in to see one of their onsite physical therapist. She was a tiny thing but she's definitely the "iron mike" of PT's. I'm 6-3 235 and she worked me like a rib. I could swear that when I put my head down she left and Shaquille O'Neal came in for my pt. The second visit not as good. I was referred to Dr. Kevin Parker by my family physician Dr. Marlene Yacoob to help me with my lower back/neck pains. The visit was above and beyond what I expected. Dr. Parker spent a good amount of time just asking me about my lifestyle and really understanding who I am and my habits. My husband, 3 kids and I all see Dr. Parker. My husband has suffered from chronic back problems for most of his adult life. He has undergone surgery, physical therapy, and of course, medication. He started seeing Dr. Parker last winter and was able to get almost immediate relief. Dr. Parker not only gives a treatment, but takes the time to get to know the lifestyle of his patient and give recommendations as to how the patient can work within their own lifestyle to avoid future injury. My teenage son recently injured his hip and Dr. Parker took the time to teach my son about his physiology so he would understand what went wrong and how to avoid it in the future. He also provided him with an at-home regimen to help expedite the healing process. My son really listened and followed Dr. Parker's advice and seems to have made a speedy recovery. A personal note, Dr. Parker is very knowledgeable about dancers' and dance related injuries and how to avoid them. He works with a lot of dancers and has made an effort to become educated on their bodies and the injuries they encounter. Lastly, if you go see Dr. Parker, I highly recommend getting therapy while you are there, the massage therapists are great. Update.... One great story is I had ongoing numbness and tingling in my right hand, I was 'living with it' but when it got so bad that I couldn't sleep, I saw Dr. Parker. With ONE adjustment of my neck and shoulder, the constant numbness/tingle was gone.....absolutely gone! That was six years ago and it hasn't come back. I have been going to this chiropractic office since about 1994 and all the doctors there are fabulous!! I wouldn't say the if it weren't true. Dr. Parker is my go to doc now and he's not only a great chiropractor but a really informative, up on all the latest health issues, listen to you always kinda guy...;-) He's helped me with thyroid issues, gleuten free issues, weight management issues..and more. If he doesn't know the answer, he'll point you in the direction of someone who does..Love that!! If you love massage this is the place too. Not every chiro office offers a great deep pressure massage after the adjustment..this office does and the therapist are THE BEST!!! Chris, Marcos, Jerry..all superb. I read the other post about the guy who was sore or bruised after the massage. If you dont 'feel" sore the next day or two, you didnt get a proper massage. Remember, they work with soft tissue, so it's perfectly natural to feel sore. If I don't feel sore, I feel jipped! After a couple of days, you'll feel better than better. I have moved around over the years and tried different chiro offices and NONE compare to this office. They have a patient for life (as long as I stay in this area). My wife and I have both been going to Dr. Parker for about 12 years. A number of our friends also go to him and we all recommend him to others. He is a really terrific chiropractor. I have gone to a number of chiropractors over the years since I was four years old and I would have to say that he is the best of them all. He is also a very personable individual. It feels more like going to visit a friend than going to see a doctor. As mentioned by others he keeps up-to-date on research, is knowledgeable about nutrition and is also a bodybuilder. With regard to the other review about the massage therapist, ask Dr. Parker to note on your chart the pressure you would prefer. Or feel free to ask for a massage therapist by name once you found one you like. If the therapist is massaging too hard always feel free to tell them to lighten up and keep at it until he or she gets to the pressure you want. if yelp had six stars Dr. Parker would get six. read more
