Warning: dental talk ahead…read more About nine years ago, I had my top two wisdom teeth out. They'd emerged through the gum, they weren't particularly bothersome, but they were crowding my mouth a bit, so out they came. It was a relatively easy surgery, I drove myself home, napped on the couch, and ate jell-o for two days. At the time, both of my lower wisdom teeth were far below bone and gum, and I was told that if they stayed there, they could be left alone indefinitely. Ahh, but did they stay put? I think you know the answer to that. No, the lower right one started to come through, and starting a couple years ago I was told they should come out soon. Finally, after getting decent dental coverage, I decided it was time. This is the oral surgeon my dentist referred me to, so I didn't have much say in the matter, but it's close to home, which I definitely appreciate. After my regular dentist's dated office, I was pleased to see that this building is modern and comfortable. Nice waiting room with a couch and leather chairs, and while there was no TV to distract me in the exam room, I was able to listen to music on my phone to distract myself. The assistant/hygenist was very nice, she explained what was happening and asked if I was OK a few times (I may have looked a little nervous?). The oral surgeon, Dr Forfar, was pleasant and efficient. He looked at my x-rays and decided only the right one needed to come out; the left one is not hurting anyone and the root is near a nerve. I was very happy to hear that, since I'd been dreading the left side more. Cut to 20 minutes later, I was outta there, with a couple prescriptions, a post-op folder, and a checkup appointment for the following week. While I will never be a fan of dental work, I have to say Dr Forfar's office made the whole experience about as good as it could be, and if you need to have work done, it's as good a place as any. (Note: they also have offices in Wheaton and Schaumburg.)

My dentist said the X-ray showed the placement was perfect and straight. Both the doctor and his office followed up after the procedure to check my status. Overall great experience! He's extremely knowledgeable and walks you through every step of the appointment and sprinkles in his witty sense of humor to ease your anxiety of any serious procedure. For example, I have never had a filling done and am very afraid of needles so you can imagine my anxiety when theres a mention of numbing and the needle that comes along with that. I was taken minutes after my arrival and within 1/2 hr I had X-rays and the the broken half of tooth removed w/o any anasthesia or numbing w/no significant pain. Barely any discomfort. A temporary crown was put on and I was out the door and able to have an anniversary lunch w/my husband. He is an amazing dentist! His staff are very professional and friendly. Calls and messages are poorly documented and you can expect to waste a lot of both time in the office and on follow-up calls after hours that don't resolve anything. Billing errors on their end were ignored, and when concerns are raised, they are minimized rather than addressed. The front desk made scheduling, communication, and payments unnecessarily stressful, and there is no way to avoid interacting with Christina. I cannot recommend this office. If you value your time and sanity, it's better to find a dental practice with staff who are trained, organized, and willing to take responsibility.

They were very understanding and comforting in dealing with me and my anxiety. They were also very gentle during my cleaning. When i came back for my major procedures they kept the same energy as my previous visit. I was given head phones and got to watch Netflix. Didn't even feel the anesthesia shot... that is a first for me and I've had tons of these in the past. They also made sure that i was comfortable during the entire procedure.
