Amazing people, 10/10 highly recommend. I am on a cross country roadtrip and my car started stalling at weird times and the temperature gauge was flying all over the place. I thought that it could be a faulty ECT. Kevin ordered a new part and had one of his guys come over and help me out. They quickly diagnosed the issue as a faulty ECT connector and replaced it for me in the parking lot. They were super cool and walked me through replacing it for my own learning. When I went to pay, they just wanted me to pay for the part and not the services (I think they felt bad for me lol). They got me up and running super quickly so I can continue on my trip. I've taken my Honda Odyssey here for a number of years and they are always take good care of my car. I had a problem with my Mercedes that was a very expensive repair, but they recommended another specialist in the Bay Area who might be able to solve the problem. I took my car to them and it saved me a lot of money. I really appreciated the advice and it's very very rare for a mechanic to recommend another shop, but they did so because it was in my best interest. I bought a new car that came with a front license plate holder that the user had to install himself. It used double sided tape to attach to the bumper. I touched the tape to the bumper a bit too soon and the holder got stuck on the car at an awkward angle. I was afraid to pull it off for fear of damaging the paint or the bumper itself. I took it to Kevin's and he immediately assigned somebody to work on it. The worker quickly pulled it off without doing any damage to the bumper, put on fresh double sided tape and attached it in the correct position. It took just a few minutes and I was on my way. Whenever I have any kind of automotive problem I always take it to Kevin's. I've been going there for about 13 years and have never been disappointed. read more

I wanted to give a special shout out to Tony and crew for helping me out this past week. I was really stressed and worried last week when my car began suddenly and intermittently powering down and shutting off while driving, particularly heading into rush hour traffic. I took it into the shop first thing the next morning. Tony offered to try and fit me into the schedule, and also graciously offered to hold onto my car and continue testing it over the next few days after that. He eventually reported that the car went a whole day or more with normal behavior, explaining that the issue might have been related to a loose clip/contact that he tightened/refastened and might have done the trick. When I picked up the car, he politely declined to accept any payment. I personally find it rare these days to find such an honest reputable good-doing shop to trust, especially while I'm new to this area. I'm really appreciative of the good samaritan help. So far my car is still running great, and they otherwise saved me from an expensive repair that I could forego for now. Thank you so much, I'll definitely be back. read more

I usually don't log onto Yelp to write reviews anymore, but I can't procrastinate this review. I noticed yesterday night that my heat shield (? unsure) was scraping the bottom of the car. It was hanging off my car and I had no idea how it got to that point without me noticing. I'm not a car person. I didn't even know how to get a quote online because I didn't know what the part was, much less know what the service I need is called. When I yelped Kevin's Auto Repair, I saw the raving reviews and wondered if that's just review bias (people who are happy or unhappy are more likely to write reviews). I gave their shop a call after getting quotes from other places and expected an appointment slot later this week. Well. I was greeted by Tony who patiently explained to me I'll have to bring it in for a look. I drove down there an hour later and within 20 minutes, they were able to repair it. I am terrifically impressed by the speed, professionalism of the technicians. They will be my first go-to and recommendation for auto repairs. When I logged in to Yelp today, I just noticed that my review for Kevin's Auto Repair was actually not finished. So here is what wanted to way. My car's smog check didn't pass so I brought it to Kevin's shop based on the all five-star reviews on Yelp. My experience was no different than others. Kevin helped turn off the warning light and did some fix and my car passed the smog. Very smooth experience. The 2nd time, the engine light was on and it was probably a big task. After calling Tony and discussing the plan twice, I was very glad that their plan is very logical. Tony was very patient and he told me the best case and worse case scenario so I was prepared. In the end, the car engine didn't need to be replaced and the fix was done. It was close to the best case scenario. I appreciate the help from Kevin's Auto Repair and feel lucky we have such an excellent shop nearby. read more

Kevin's Auto is awesome. My Toyota Prius had a broken front splash guard at the bottom. I got quotes from other auto shops that are over $100. I took it to Kevin's shop, and he and his mechanic told me that we really don't need that part and he will just take it off. It took five minutes and Kevin did this job for free for me! I knew I could trust the business when they were frank with me about what did NOT need to be repaired on the vehicle both in the short- and long-term. I had plans to go to a remote part of Sonoma County and thinking about safety, I called Kevin to ask if I could bring my car in for tire inspection and a windshield water refill. He told me to bring it in the next day. Tony asked me whether I wanted to leave the car or would I wait for it (about an hour before they could work on it). I opted to leave the car, then on second thought Tony said he would do it right then. He found a small leak in one of the tires and fixed it, told me that I should think about replacing the tires in 6 months and did the tasks that I asked for. No charge. Amazing great service. They continually remind me what a well-run business does--great customer service, reasonable prices, good turnaround, efficient/competent repairs, no upselling or overselling--all add up to earning my trust and loyalty over and over again. A few years ago my dad decided to replace the bulb in my front headlight. It did not go well, causing the whole light to come out of the car less than a month later. I took it to the dealer who put in a new one. That lasted a few months. Once that one died, I went to Kevin, who - within ten minutes - found exactly what was wrong and fixed it. I've been back several times, and every time I get incredible service and even better pricing. My only complaint is that I moved away and can no longer come here. Had a couple of interactions since my first one. I brought my car in because the boots were leaking. I could have replaced just the boots, but given the labor was the same as the axle replacement I went with that, hoping to get some more life out of the car. Everything went smoothly until I found out the transaxle was leaking a bit of fluid every day :( It wasn't a lot of fluid, but enough to be concerned so I brought it back in thinking the worst (since you have to pull the axle out again to fix it), but they verified the issue, fixed it in a day and charged me nothing. These things happen with any repair shop, and I'm glad these folks just owned up to the issue and fixed it without any debate. The second time I brought it in after the recent storms. The car had a lot of trouble starting and I tested the starter/battery/alternator with a multimeter at home which turned out fine. I had zero clue what was going on and I ended up getting it started and drove straight here just in case it wouldn't start again. I dropped it off thinking it'd be a few days but they called me back the next day to ask what exactly was going on, told me there were no issues and I picked up the car that afternoon with again, no charge. They weren't condescending about it nor were they telling me I wasted their time, which I appreciated. They told me to bring it back if it had issues again, but they said it was likely excess moisture getting into the connectors and dried up, which made sense since the car starts up just fine now. Other unscrupulous shops probably would have told me they found some random issue like "oh your battery terminals were loose and we fixed it" and charged me some fees, but these folks tested everything with a clean bill of health and with no charge. I will say that their pricing when I did get work done wasn't super cheap, but it wasn't outright ridiculous either like the dealerships. read more

We have just returned after 5 years living elsewhere and wanted to make sure Kevin was still here. He worked on my Mazda minivan twice and I trust him implicitly. We gave him the go ahead to replace 2 oxygen sensors that were really hard to reach. (My husband had replaced the front ones.) Upon picking it up he said only one needed replacing, so our bill was lower. That 4th oxygen sensor still was working years later. I remember the young woman who worked for him saying she'd worked for unethical businesses before and how honest these guys were. She was correct. I read the small number of bad reviews. One was clearly a "plant" and one didn't even make sense. I'm glad I have a go to place for our vehicles that we didn't have when we were gone. Any complainers are free to go elsewhere. read more

I've been going to Kevin's Auto for 13 years now. I've learned I can trust them and depend on them completely to do repairs quickly and at a fair price. Most repairs are done within and hour or two or less while I wait at a conveniently close McDonald's or donut shop. Kevin and Tony can be counted on to professionally and accurately diagnosis any problems my cars have had and have their great mechanics fix it promptly; even replacing bulbs or doing other minor work free of charge. I honestly have no complaints about this business. I got my first car and started driving when I was 17 and I'm 61 now. Unfortunately, before Kevin's, in my experience a lot of times there was some distrust and wariness when it came time to put the car in the shop for repairs. There were honest car mechanics around but you were taking your chances that you wouldn't be overcharged or have unnecessary repairs done and before Kevin's I was used to repairs taking days instead of hours. I don't have to worry about any of that now. They are entirely trustworthy and dependable and I feel lucky that I found them. read more

I only have great things to say about Kevin and his team. Honest, knowledgeable and friendly service. They explain things in a way where someone with no auto background can understand. I scheduled an appt with Kevin's Auto Repair for a second opinion after seeing the Steven's Creek Acura dealership for an A service about a year ago. The technician at Acura recommended a bunch of repairs (drive belt water pump service, brake fluid dot 4 service, front brake replacement + rotors and engine repair). The estimated quote was around $3k. Once I saved up enough money to make all the repairs and finally got around to researching multiple auto shops and reading a majority of their reviews, I decided to schedule with Kevin's Auto Repair. After their assessment, Kevin and his team reassured me that my car was fine and the Acura dealership was likely trying to "upsell services." There were no coolant leaks, my brake pads were fine (6mm front and 8mm back pads, Acura told me it was 4mm front and 7mm back pads a year ago) and engine was fine. They did top off the exp tank and addressed the low tire pressure. I felt so much relief after the appt. I rarely drive my car about 15-20 miles/week, but every time I did I was worried that something would happen. I wish I had scheduled with Kevin's Auto Repair sooner. It would have saved me a year's worth of worrying. Kevin and his team also didn't charge me for diagnostics/services they provided and advised me to return as needed for future repairs. They've won over a future customer and I'll be recommending them to anyone who needs their car serviced. read more
