This is certainly the place to go for computer repairs. I, relatively recently, went in to have my computer checked out because it was overheating. The gentleman who helped me out that day was kind, and it cost $50 upfront to diagnose the computer. Whenever an update happened with my computer, I got an e-mail and a phone call. First, I got an update that the thermos paste needed to be installed. Then, I got an contact saying that I need to contact the store. When I chatted with the gentleman who answered the phone, he was nice, and he let me know that the drivers on my computer need to be updated. I said yes please to that additional repair. When my computer was ready for pick up, again, I got an e-mail and a phone call. The staff who work here are no doubt great at keeping you updated on what is going on with your computer. Then, on the day I picked up my computer, it was easy, and I paid the remainder balance for that additional repair. The staff working here are nice, and friendly, and the service is top notch. I have a laptop computer and the SSD 500 gig hard-drive was 95% full. I had purchased a 2tb replacement SSD, then realized I had better have someone that knows what they are doing clone and change the drive. John at the Dana Point office took care of that in less than 24 hours, and now I use the old 500 gig SSD as a USB backup drive. I also have a big box computer for video work. After the last Windows update, the computer started acting crazy. The screen would go black at times and other times while working it would just reboot itself over and over. Again, John at the Dana Point office took it in for $50 to check it out. He put it through a stress test overnight and determined it was locked in some sort of update loop that never finishes. John corrected the issue and I got the computer back with no extra charge. It has been running great, in fact, better than before the issues and I can tell you editing 4k video can stress a computer. Kevin from 'Kevin's Computer Service' sent me an email 10 days after I picked up my HP Pavilion laptop. Kevin's is very professional. They do good work and they stand behind their services. I found it really cool that Kevin, the owner, checked in with me to see how things are going with the laptop. Super stoked on these guys! I brought my work laptop in this morning at 9am to have it repaired. The DC jack socket needed replacement. Aidin was there to help me out. He was very nice and understanding. I told him that it was my work computer and that it is super important to have this repaired as soon as possible. They took a $50 deposit for diagnostics, which was then deducted from the final total if further work was to be done. At 10:15am I get a text letting me know that they have the part on it's way from a neighboring city from one of their other stores. By 3:48pm, they call me letting me know it's ready to be picked up! Paid $75 picking it up. Final cost was $125 + tax. I was able to pick it up the same day and start catching up on work that I couldn't complete. I highly recommend Kevin's Computer Service and especially Anthony. He is the GURU when it comes to switching over from Windows Live Mail to Microsoft Outlook. I have owned my company for the last 21 years and without my computer I can shut down. I have been hesitant about switching my email from WLM to Outlook because I didn't want to lose my emails. I can tell you that Anthony totally made me feel comfortable and confident that it can be done and done preciously. I had a great experience with Anthony at the Dana Point location. We brought in our Mac desktop and Anthony told us exactly what he thought the problem was and gave us some options for repair which seemed quite reasonable and in line with our expectations. But more importantly, we felt comfortable and secure leaving our treasure of family archives that were still loaded on the Mac with him. Trust was especially important to us as I'm sure it is with most people. Anthony kept us posted on the time frame and we got it back when he said we would and it works great now. I thought we had a problem with the log-in password when we got it back until I discovered that it was because my wife changed it without telling me ...uh yeah. Antonio at Kevin's computers made very short work of my computer problems. For 25 bucks he showed me how to back up my windows based hard drive. OK, I'll grant you that my questions were pretty fundamental, but I had already spent several hours with google trying to make sure my turbotax info was not going to disappear into cyberspace. It turns out that I was on the right track, but knowing for sure was priceless (as they say). He also showed me a few nifty short cuts to resolve other problems. I probably could have solved my problems on my own had I spent a few hours, but it would have taken far more than the ten minutes I spent with Antonio, and I still wouldn't have been absolutely sure that I had it right. So off the bat I took my Gaming PC to get fixed after it shorted out. They fixed that and there was a lil issue after that but I was under the impression I was charged for something that wasn't done but after talking to them and realizing it was miscommunication, my pc is doing great and I'm happy. They really do take the guarantee seriously so if you aren't happy go ahead and take it back and they'll help you out no matter what. The best service I have received for my computer issues. The Dana Point staff is awesome. Was honest with the issue I was having and was most helpful in migrating to a new system. Answered all my questions, big or small, that made it easy to understand and remember. Friendly, as if I was talking to a good buddy who was knowledgeable with computers and IT. My Computer crashed hard and I was unable to diagnose the issue even with my fairly extensive knowledge of hardware/software. Took it to Kevins, payed a small fee for diagnoses, and they found that one of the chips in my GPU was fried. I purchased a 1070ti and they installed it and stress tested it for an extra $25.
