I thank the Lord to have such a great sister (a dispatcher) who, along with her driver husband, own their own trucking business. After I struck out with finding a place to park, pulling a camper trailer, in Meridian; she scouted out and found this place for me. It's what she does all day long for her drivers (both sons too), so she's very experienced with checking traffic conditions and finding good truck stops. She told me on the phone as she was guiding me here that everyone was saying the food was really good. I thank those folks who took the time to share their thoughts about the One Stop. They weren't wrong; the food here is great! I ordered the Catfish Dinner with Tots and Potato Salad. They included a few Hush Puppies too. The fish was excellent. The potato salad was outstanding. Traveling and hungry, wife asked to find something local. We called 20 minutes out and lunch was ready. These are really nice people who make inexpensive good tasty food. We shared a turkey poboy. It wasn't the thick bread you sometimes find but was loaded with seasoned turkey and fully dressed. We're stopping here again. read more

Just get the large burger. And baked beans. And potato salad. It's like going back in time 40 years... something so nostalgic and comforting about a place where the locals are kind and the food is better than the greasy spoons we went to as kids if we got good report cards. Bring an insulin pen if you get sweet tea... I do 3/4 unsweet and 1/4 sweet and it still tastes like syrup. Eat your food. I would never have stopped here if my husband hadn't been with me, but he swore this place had the best hamburgers. So we stopped. Upon walking in it was a gas station but in a separate area to the right of the entrance there was a small kitchen and moderate sized dining area. I tried the burger, onion rings and fried shrimp with a side salad because I gotta be healthy. The burger was flat but good, the onion rings were greasy heaven and the fried shrimp were over cooked. The customer service here is awful. I pre-ordered my food there on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. When I arrived the blond cashier was friendly and I moved to the side until she said my food was ready. I was in there nearly 30 minutes and the cook asked me have I gotten my food. I said she haven't called my name yet. Then the cook said your food is right here and haven't been checked by the cashier. I told her the cashier was busy digging into a cheese burger and trying to flirt with truck drivers for a tip. This place admittedly doesn't look like much, in fact it's almost picturesque of a "old school" truck stop like you would've seen in Smokey and The Bandit. However, I can assure you that the food inside is well worth stopping for. Plenty of room to park semis and just good old fashioned country service. Drivers beware the wait for a famous Kewanne Burger can easily be 45 minutes to an hour so if you're in a hurry be sure to call in your order ahead of time. Also one side note this isn't the healthiest of food stops But it IS one of the best hamburgers in the United States read more

My lord this burger was so good, like burgers from back in the day, when the meat was real cow, had mayo and mustard on both buns and the buns was toasted on the grill. (I don't think they know you have to fry potatoes twice ). They were grossly soggy and flavorless. The Mac n cheese was eh. He said the hamburger was all meat and OK, but definitely not the best burger he has ever eaten. I got ribs and both of us got French fries. The ribs were mediocre, and the fries VERY greasy. Delicious burger. Ethanol free gas cheapest I've seen around. They have alot of different good items on the menu, and I'm willing to bet they are all spectacular. For me the favorite part of this establishment is the people watching. Being a yankee transplant I hearing locals converse, and you get a diverse crowd of working class locals here. Superb friendly service, and this place has been family owned for 25 years. Whenever I travel back to new York from new Orleans, I will always stop here, and try something new.
