I am beyond frustrated with my experience at Mercedes-Benz Portsmouth, where I purchased my GLE as…read morea Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in February 2025. I do have to say, during the buying process, everyone I dealt with was solid. They were quick to respond and made the process easy for someone purchasing out of state. At the same time, I guess this is what any good salesperson does trying to close a deal. About 2 months after my purchase, my engine light came on. What I thought would have been a simple reset has turned into a complete nightmare. I took the car to my local Mercedes Benz service center and they revealed AdBlue in the coolant system--a diesel fluid not used in gas cars. What?! The total cost to repair this ended up being over $3,500 (replacing coolant reservoir, temperature sensors, both coolant pumps, the thermostat and the changeover valve). I have driven the car less than 5,000 miles and literally have not even opened the hood of the car. Research online (Benzworld.org) states that it would take AdBlue anywhere from 3,000-6,000 miles to cause the type of corrosion in my vehicle. This fits the exact timeline of my vehicle. The worst part is they tried to say that I am responsible for putting the substance in the car, which voids my warranty. I wouldn't be surprised if they respond to this review and continue to deflect responsibility. I have never in my life owned a diesel car or even heard of AdBlue until this debacle. The car was never serviced by anyone else during my ownership, indicating it was present at the time of purchase and missed during the CPO process. This accusation is not only baseless but insulting, as it shifts blame onto me for their oversight. While they provided me the necessary documents to submit the dispute, they refused to take responsibility, leaving me to fight for warranty coverage on my own. I'm now forced to escalate through a formal dispute process, all because of their failure to uphold CPO standards. I expected better from Mercedes Benz and am left feeling let down and disrespected. It does not bring me any joy to write this review. Mistakes happen, I get that, but people should own up to their mistakes instead of placing blame elsewhere. The reality is, other buyers should be aware this dealership will have zero problem taking a defective car and labeling it CPO. My piece of advice would be to avoid this dealership AT ALL COSTS. If you see a vehicle from Portsmouth that you like, at the price you like, DO NOT BUY IT. Use that listing to shop at another dealership to get the same vehicle.

They told me they had a full day with no openings but if i wanted to drop my car off for a few hours they would fit me in (score!). I then asked about the cost for the service and they said there would be no cost due to a special they've been running all week ( double score!). I dropped my car right off and waited till it was done. By the time it was done, they unfortunetly ran out of the stickers that i needed for my car and i had to wait an extra 30 minutes until they could retrieve them. However, they were very apologetic and gave me the best customer service i could have asked for. No complaints here, it was a great experience, thanks guys!

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...? Ouch…read more Yes, we trusted VIP Tires & Service in Portsmouth, NH a second time. We felt certain that our previous poor experience - in June 2023 - had been a fluke. This time, VIP seemed the most convenient location for what we thought would be a quick repair: My husband saw coolant leaking from the right front side of our Honda CR-V. We assumed it was a reservoir issue. Worst case, the thermostat housing might need replacement. RepairPal and at least one other car estimate site suggested that the repair, including labor, would be between $647 and $779. Of course, we hoped for less. My husband arrived at VIP in Portsmouth shortly after 8 AM; the repair bays seemed already filled. However, the VIP mechanics were able to look at the car within about an hour. They said that the problem was related to the tubing connection between the reservoir and the thermostat. The estimate at that time was less than $500; my husband recalls it being far lower, but he's not sure of the exact figure. After that, they told my husband that they were shopping around for the best price for the needed parts. Unfortunately, many of those resources were hours away from Portsmouth. At 3:35 PM, my husband email'd me that the necessary part/s had finally arrived, and they'd begun work on our car. According to the receipt, the work was concluded and our car was out at 5:24 PM. The bill came to $1197.63. Of that, the parts came to $420.63; $849.00 was for labor. That's nearly $100 per hour for every hour that my husband was in the waiting room, even when it did not appear that the car was being worked on. Maybe all of this is fair or even a great, low price for the work that was done. Neither my husband nor I have the necessary automotive background to be certain. Past labor costs were never that high. But one thing that is certain is this: We'll use sites like RepairPal in the future. They'd not only quoted us a price nearly half what VIP in Portsmouth charged us, they also gave us the name of a nearby, certified mechanic who'd honor that quote. UPDATE: Colleen C. at VIP replied promptly. Here's part of what she said, "When it comes to our pricing, we follow what's called book time or book price... Each job has an industry-set number of hours attached to it, and that's what we charge for -- not the actual time the car's in the shop. So if the repair takes our technician longer, you're not charged more. And if it takes less time, you're still only paying that fair, consistent rate. You're never billed for time your vehicle isn't being worked on." That's a contradiction in itself. On one hand, she says, "Each job has an industry-set number of hours attached to it, and that's what we charge for -- not the actual time the car's in the shop." But then she says, "You're never billed for time your vehicle isn't being worked on." (And yes, I noted the EM-dash in Colleen's reply; it's often a red flag indicating an AI response.) As I said in my initial review, it appeared that VIP had called around, looking for parts necessary to repair our car. They weren't able to work on our car until late in the day. That's fine. However, the actual car repairs seemed to take about two hours. But let's say that VIP _had_ actually been working on our car every hour it had been in the shop... almost nine hours. The $849 labor fee meant a labor charge of nearly $100 per hour. To us, that seems stunning. Worse, it's far longer than our vehicle was worked on. Even if we say that it took VIP an hour to diagnose the issue, plus an hour to find a shop with the necessary parts, and then two hours to make the repair... that's four hours, adding up to $200/hour in labor charges. That labor charge is why we won't trust VIP again. The numbers just don't add up, nor does their explanation. UPDATE #2: By sheer coincidence, we were at the post office when a VIP staff member, Favian, was there. He explained quite a bit, including the extra work that had increased the cost of our repairs. So, I have - with some uneasiness - changed my review to 2 stars. Favian also explained that VIP's standard labor charges are $170/hour. That's stunning. Our regular mechanic in Orlando, Florida, doesn't charge anything close to that. UPDATE #3: We discovered that the hood release had been broken while our car was at VIP. Now, to check the oil level, etc., we have to push our fingers under the hood and find the latch to open it. So, this review is - once again - one star. My husband and I are still unhappy that we were given an estimate of less than $500 for the repair, and then - with no warning - given a bill of over $1100. For that reason, plus our 2023 experience at that same VIP location, we will not return to that shop.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Unsafe and Erratic Driving - License Plate 59 BM…read more To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report a dangerous driving incident involving a vehicle displaying license plate 59 BM that occurred May 22,2026 @ 11:48am on Main Street in Peabody, Massachusetts. While traveling on Main Street, the referenced vehicle exited the highway where the driver was required to stop at a posted stop sign before entering traffic. I had the right of way at the time. Instead of yielding, the driver proceeded aggressively and attempted to force my vehicle off the road. The driver then continued driving alongside my vehicle despite the roadway being designated as a single lane, creating an unsafe and hazardous situation. Their actions appeared reckless and demonstrated a disregard for traffic laws and public safety. Following the incident, I contacted Portsmouth Ford in New Hampshire to report my concerns. I was advised by the manager that there was nothing they could do regarding the matter. I believe this behavior presents a serious risk to the public and should be documented and reviewed appropriately. I respectfully request that this complaint be investigated and that any necessary action be taken to address unsafe driving practices associated with this vehicle. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I showed up the pickup the escalade around 6:20PM and was nicely helped by Jordan one of the sales people! I then noticed that my front driver side wheel was damaged and the repairs for warranty were still not fixed and the service door latch system light was still appearing! Jordan was trying to help the best he can as he saw the fresh damage on my wheel he took pictures in the parking lot of my wheel as they are aftermarket vossen forged wheels. I then called in the next morning and spoke to the service manager and he was insisting i drive the vehicle all the way back for him to just look at the wheel in which everyone already had pictures of the damage they did and you can see it rubbed against the lift! Also noted I then reached out to my warranty company and they claimed a BCM had failed and they forged my signature on the documents in which i have proof of for them to be paid prior to me picking up the vehicle!
