I just got off the phone with Scott and he informed me that he would let me know what is wrong with my daughter's 2009 Corolla after they complete their necessary diagnostic checks. It's been a year since my last review, and my opinion still holds. Since I haven't given my beloved Subaru more than oil changes for a long time, I had them do a full evaluation and then the service work. They found some oil leaks and bubbles in two tires. They flushed and replaced fluids. I felt they were very thorough and also very fair. Now I am confident that my car will keep running well for the next few years. It's MUCH cheaper to have the work done before a problem rather than wait for a break down. Some bonuses: They give you a coupon for your next service. I have a 2006 Scion that I was having serviced at the dealership about a year ago. They kept the car for almost a week and kept adding things onto the bill that didn't make sense. The final straw was when they said one of the O2 sensors needed to be replaced and that it was going to cost a lot more. I declined that service and when I pick up the car the check engine light was on. I asked about that and they said it was due to the O2 sensor. I drove it home anyway and within a couple of days, it was off. I brought it Jeff's and he provided the next oil change and a check-up to give me some idea as to whether or not it would pass inspection. No mention of a faulty O2 sensor. Even when I asked. Had an issue with my car. The banging noise was so bad I was afraid my drive shaft was going to drop out from under me. Lex-Toy took me right away and quickly diagnosed my problem. "Another" local auto service provider hadn't tightened down lug nuts on one of my front tires. They charged me a minimal labor fee and I was on my way. read more

I think every group goes through growing pains, and they certainly gave great service a couple years ago, but I find myself getting my car back with the problems I brought it in for manifesting again a month or two later. I would rather know everything that is wrong with the car so I can make an informed decision regarding repair than worry about running into problems and having to bring it back a couple months later. Also, they indicate that Saturday appointments are available on their door, but this must be on rare circumstances. Switching garages for now, but hopefully I can switch back soon. read more

Driving down I93 in New Hampshire on Memorial Day, my 2008 Toyota Sienna burst an oil hose feeding a Variable Valve Timing Actuator. All of the oil from the motor was almost instantly sprayed over the entire engine compartment, the undercarriage, and I imagine the cars behind me. The oil light came on and I pulled over immediately. AAA recommended and towed us to Jeff's Lex-Toy. AAA also gave me and my family a ride to the Manchester airport to rent a car to get home, about 75 miles away, south of Boston. Fearing the worst, I called Jeff's at 8:00 the next morning and talked to Ryan. He listened to what had happened, and said they would look at it that morning and call back within a couple hours. He called back when he said he would, told me what they found, and that they thought the motor was fine (except for the hose). He knew I lived far away, and he could have told me there was irreparable damage or that it needed extensive work. He didn't. He gave me a verbal estimate of $380 for the hose replacement and to clean the oil from engine compartment, and that it would be done by 2:00 that day (this is less than 24 hours after I left it in their parking lot, unexpected!). Before 2:00, Ryan called again to say it was done, the motor cleaned, test driven, and all checked out. Picking up the car the next day, Ryan tells me, "well, I was way off on my estimate"- the actual repair was more than $100 dollars LESS than what he had verbally quoted, and the car was perfect. I manage high tech customer service operations. These guys are doing it right. Communicating, setting expectations properly, and then not only following through, but exceeding expectations set. I unreservedly recommend Jeff's Lex-Toy, whether for emergency work, or if you are local, for anything you need.
