As part of my purchase contract, we need a quick turn-around on the inspection, and Key Inspection Services got back to me with an available appointment the following business day. Brandon was extremely thorough and respectful of the home as he went through the inspection, e.g. taking his shoes off as he walked through the interior of the home. He answered all of my questions and explained things that I didn't understand. Brandon provided me with the report that same evening, as well as a copy of book that is essentially a home owners manual. I'm pretty handy, but the book already taught me something I didn't know (what to do with a garbage disposal that has seized up). The report was well laid out, surfacing up the things I immediately needed to be aware of in an easy to read manner. We've hired Farren and Key Inspection twice now. Most recently, we had Farren and his associate Nathan come out to inspect a new construction home that we were purchasing. The builder had unusual requirements to "allow" inspectors on site but Farren took it up despite it being tedious and completely out of the ordinary. Their inspection was very thorough and uncovered lots of issues that we would not have discovered had we not have the home inspected. The inspection report was detailed, well documented, professional and authoritative. We were able to get the builder to correct all the issues - from cosmetic items like missing paint to serious issues like a leaky furnace and signs of excessive moisture in the crawlspace and fungal growth. I cannot recommend their services enough and will likely hire them again as we approach the 1 year warranty of the new home to make sure that issues that may have taken time to manifest are discovered. read more

Brian performed a home inspection for us. He was extremely thorough, knowledgable and helpful. He spent about three hours going over the exterior and interior, documenting everything with photos and the next day providing a comprehensive written report. In addition to the safety and major repair issues he pointed out, he discussed his findings in detail and let us ask questions. We had not considered some of the issues he pointed out, things that will be helpful in price negotiations. We have helped our kids in the home purchases, so have some experience with inspections. WOW! 5 stars for Brandon who came out to our new house we were buying on a Sunday! Who does that? Well we found out practically nobody. They didn't even charge us any surcharge for Sunday as they work 7 days a week. Brandon was patient, walked us through everything not just at the end but as he was finding things to be fixed. My parents who own several rentals came up to make sure he did a good job as they've seen their fair share of inspectors and let me tell you they were even impressed!! As he finished up he gave us a book titled, "How to Operate your own home" which might seem silly as this is our 3rd home, but it has some great information in there including what NOT to put down your drain since we're on a septic system. the report he provided was categorized in 3 parts - inquire with seller - Safety Hazard - Major Concern so its easy to understand what is a must fix now and a should fix soon. Even though our home is new, we decided to hire an inspector to double check the builder's work. This was our third house we bought and Florin performed the most thorough inspection that we have ever seen. He spent over 4.5 hours going through every detail of the house. Florin went on the roof, in the crawl space, checked the gutters, and he provided helpful maintenance tips throughout the inspection. Long story short, I had an inspection done on a house I had made an offer on, and he found several things wrong that would have caused me a lot of grief and heartache to get repaired. We were referred to Key Inspection Services and we are very glad we were. Farren came out to our prospective new house in Mount Baker, Seattle and spent several hours inspecting the 1925 home from top to bottom. He was extremely friendly and informative explaining issues as he went through the house. We expected a few issues with a house this age but Farren found some glaring issues with the remodel (hot water not connected, no gas to the stove, to name a few) as well as many subtle problems with the remodel that would have had a significant cost to rectify.
