Small place that delivers big flavor!! They are a great place to pick up subs anytime you have a craving! The bread they use is OUTSTANDING! The Cuban sandwich made here is terrific! We also really loved the pizza sub and the Italian sub-but the stand-out here is the KEY WEST! The house made dressing really compliments the crispy lettuce and the sub roll-and the use the perfect ratio of Turkey! We found this shop because of the yelp reviews!! Thanks!!

For the branch birthday celebration, we chose sandwiches from Key West after hearing all the rave reviews. Three Cuban Pressed sandwiches and one Reuben, the order was hot and ready the moment I walked through the door. The employees were friendly and greeted me immediately! They made me feel welcomed and appreciated. The sandwiches were amazing, made to perfection and fresh. Prices were very reasonable. I will definitely make this a highly recommend if you are in the Englewood area. Great service, nice on the pocket and tasty eats.

This sub shop is awesome. The food is well worth the price, it comes out pretty fast and they even come by and make sure you like everything. I had 1/2 of the Hemingway pressed sub and 1/2 of the pressed Rueben and they were both so good I couldn't tell you which one I like best. FYI I did split with my brother to get to have some of both. So there is that. Haha Not to many places have subs better than Publix but this one for sure does. Enjoy.

After missing an opportunity to grab a Cuban sandwich in Ybor City, I couldn't fight the urge any longer and decided to order one at any local shop that offered them. Luckily these sandwiches are wildly popular not just in the major Cuban hubs of Florida (aka Tampa & Miami), but in the smaller, more remote regions as well. Key West Sub Shop seems to specialize in pressed sandwiches, so ordering a Cuban here was a no-brainer. For good measure, I also ordered one of my all-time favorites - a classic Italian. Let's start with the good - the Cuban was exactly what I was looking for. It was the textbook recipe - ham, lean pork, Swiss, pickle, and a generous slathering of mustard. I was a little surprised by the absence of salami, which is pretty much a staple in the Tampa region (Englewood being about an hour and a half south of Tampa), but there's nothing wrong with the "classic" version. The Italian was a different story. You know how you sometimes complain that there's too much lettuce on subs? I think Subway gets this a lot - not enough meat and too many veggies. Well, it's possible to have too little lettuce as well. And that was the case here. I actually enjoy a good portion of lettuce, tomato, and onion on my Italians (while keeping a good meat ratio). The cool, crisp lettuce and juicy tomatoes are a perfect contrast to the spicy, tender meats. Without that balance, the overall quality of the sandwich degrades rapidly. Stick with the pressed sandwiches here and you can't go wrong. I just wouldn't be too eager to venture into many of the other offerings.

I am a Pub Sub lover. However, Key West Subs bread is softer and more meat! Give them a try. You won't regret it!

The food was average. The price may be a little bit too high, but not outrageous and I got the food to go. Not sure if you can eat inside

My wife chose the chicken salad wrap with the homemade chips. She loved it. Chips were not salted. I ordered the Ken & barb burger medium , with potato salad. It was ok juicy, greasy, flavorless same with the potato salad. We will try it again for dinner but not impressed. $47 with tip 2 sodas no dessert.

As vegetarians there were ZERO options on the limited menu. The server was super sweet and let us check out the buffet before deciding to stay or not. All the sides were vegetarian and the price of 24.99 each wasn't too bad, so we stayed. The buffet included ham, turkey, fried flounder as the mains, with sides of mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes, carrots, mixes veggies, Mac and cheese, rolls, corn bread, coleslaw, and roasted potatoes. It also included a small salad bar and about 4 dessert options. There was also Easter candy scattered on the table and plastic eggs to open with treats inside-- making the lunch extra fun! As adults we never get to open easter eggs! We also enjoyed the live music. Five stars, but subtracted one for the lack of true vegetarian options with the limited menu. Thanks for making our day special!

The reason we are writing is to suggest and encourage some changes to the atmosphere to entice customers to choose this place over the other competing beach restaurant's within the 2 block beach area. What we have noticed is that over time, the attention to the outdoor experience has slipped. It's started to feel somewhat sad and dead. I understand that live music isn't always available, but there is a stereo system that could be playing lively beach type music to help create a vibe/catch people walking by attention and lure them in for a drink and food. The T.V's downstairs are plentiful, but almost always locked on a scenery image, instead of playing sports that would help capture attention and make people want to come on in. We are locals, and really root for all the beach restaurants, and want the Waves/waverly in particular to be super successful, as it was the first place we went to on the beach after moving to Manasota Key, so please consider some small tweaks to make it a place people want to check out and and return to time and time again!

Updated review:…read more Another awesome stop at Waverly/Waves this Saturday. We sat at the Waves bar. George was the bartender that day and took a great care of us. Blood Orange margarita was delish as a cold pint of Jai Lai, my friend had couple of glasses of chilled Lamarca Prosecco. We ordered Blue point oysters , clam chowder and my fav Silver hamachi roll! Everything was fresh and delicious! Great stop today at Waverly/Waves bar after a successful listing appt. Hunter and Kyle took an amazing care of me w drinks ( rum runner , raspberry Collin's, smooth velvety vanilla coffee porter), freshly shucked crisp Chesapeake bay oyster ( could use a tad more of horseradish) and long anticipated soft shell crab sandwich (upgraded to my fav sweet potato fries) , coleslaw could use some love in regards salt/pepper/spices, but everything else was lovely and delicious. Other employees were super friendly and fun to chat with. Live music was a nice touch. I should def return soon to try their sushi . Thank you for a great lunch .
