Perfect "sub," or hoagie as we call it in the north, for the beach! We stopped here to grab dinner to take to the beach. We ordered a 16 inch veggie and cheese and it was delicious! Employees were friendly and quick. Sub and a drink was about 9 bucks total! So cheap and yummy!

Finally tried a pizza from Johnny Tomatoes in Venice, off of Tamiami near Walmart…read more(Tamiami/Jacaranda). For all the hype that this is NJ thin crust, I personally, was disappointed. The Pepperoni Pizza we had was ok, not great nor bad. I have been down here for almost 3 years and have yet to find "authentic". Jersey or NY Pizza. There are plenty of places in Venice that offer good pizza. Food is very personal and many if not most, like tastes that remind them of what they might have grown up with. This doesn't only apply to pizza. I like Asaros (takeout), and places like Naples and Made in Italy for bar size pizza (eat in). I have tried others like Angelos, Sicilia's (sic), and others. They too are ok, but not what I prefer as a go to "pie". I would say give Johnny Tomato's a try. The staff are nice and it might be good for you. I would say the crust is similar to Dominos. For those of you who might not like my judgement, just for background, I grew up in NJ, worked 4 years in a Pizzeria in Madison NJ (Romanelli's) and have been spoiled by NY pizza from John's Pizza off of Broadway (old church bldg) and in Jersey City. I love Regina Pizza in Boston (original location on Thatcher St in the Northend) and loved the Haymarket Pizza in the late 80's the first time I moved to Boston. Don Pepe's in New Haven CT is great too, though their lack of style in slicing pizza ticks me off. They just hap hazardly cut it which ever which way! I also love Detroit and Chicago deep dish ... different styles but nonetheless delicious. Don't take my word for it, but try Johnny Tomatoes for yourself. I love people whom are trying to bring a slice of their home to Florida! Support these entrepreneurs!

Tuesday, January 27, 2026 - Two for take out…read more Haven't been here for 4 months it appears? Wanted some wings and a large plain Cheese pizza. Phone quickly answered, short on hold... very pleasant and professional order process! 20 minute to pick up. Got two orders of 6 each order of wings (first time ordering these) one Parmesan / Garlic and the other classic Buffalo Wings. They pledge 1/2 flats, 1/2 drums. The wings were failry properly cooked.... maybe a little longer on lower heat. But nicely seasoned even if a little charred on the Buffalo? 7/10 Not horrible. Not rubbery so good product and fresh. the Parmesan / garlinc wings were also good, Awesome garlic and oil sauce on top and these were tasty. My wife was not aware they were parmesan coated until I told her as there was almost none to zero parmesan sprinkled or chunked on the wings. This with the garlic and oil base would have been awesome. so have to go with an 8/10 for those. One Blue cheese and one Ranch on the side. Ranch good , the blue cheese was watery and not sure what it was. The Blue Cheese expert lover said "NO" for next time. (Yech! bad restaurant bulk product) So popping them up a notch to get Johnny Tomatoes Pizza above the rest of the masses. Counter service/pickup is awesome and the people in the store are fantastic!!! Looks like they are doing well as they should be!!! Nicely above average pizza, wings and food.

You can find something on this menu that you're going to love. Bread is fresh and so are the deli meats and all the toppings from green pepper to banana peppers to lettuce, tomato and spicy oil and vinegar dressing you'll put together a perfect sandwich. We had two different ones the Italian with the hot capicola, which was perfectly spicy and loaded with meats. The second sandwich was a ham, cheese and salami with lettuce, banana peppers, tomato, onion, all the fixings and that hit the spot too. We had two 8 inch subs and nothing was left. We also had chips on the side And that added to making the sandwich a perfect lunch combo. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because parking is extremely limited and in the back. If you don't know this deli, you wouldn't know where parking is but if you drive around the back, you'll see a very small parking lot and an entry into the deli. Staff is friendly and super helpful if you're not sure what to get. The place was crowded at lunchtime on a weekday with plenty of regulars, they know a good thing when they taste it. I'm looking forward to coming back into town to try something different since the menu was so vast it just means I have to come back again and again.

Secondly, the menu has similar dishes and prices. Lastly, the waitstaff has been thru the transition and still is extremely professional and willing to accommodate every request. Where I notice the difference is in the taste of the food. The salads were fresh and my Salmon with risotto and broccoli was deliciously flavored with a drizzle of balsamic which was amazing. As you can see from my pic, the portion size was perfect, and I enjoyed the rich flavors of creaminess with a hint of mushrooms especially on the risotto. There are only a few upscale restaurants in the area, and I highly recommend DeLuca's for any specialty occasion or entertaining friends and family.

We had visited Lucarelli's before, but this was our first time at the restaurant under the new ownership, and I'm happy to report it was a wonderful experience. We'll start with our server, Lauren. Pleasant, professional, and attentive, she was an upbeat complement to our meal. The entrées come with a side salad, which clearly adds value to the dinner. It included fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers, dressed with a house-made Italian dressing. The dinner menu was robust, offering many options. I chose the chicken parmigiana with linguine. The cutlets were nicely seasoned and cooked to perfection. The linguine was al dente and served with what I would consider one of the best red sauces you'll find in Florida--likely an old family recipe. I even soaked up the last bit of sauce with one of the dinner rolls. Well done, Chef Mike! My wife had the salmon, and my daughter chose chicken with a vodka sauce. Both of their entrées looked amazing. Now I'll look forward to my next visit.
