Would not recommend…read more About a month after we closed on our home, Jillayne Southren (also known as "Jill"), a real estate agent with Weichert who represented the seller in our purchase, showed up uninvited at our property while listing a house across the street and told my 8-month-pregnant wife that we needed to improve our landscaping. She was never our agent. Her role ended at closing, and she had no authority, professional or otherwise, to dictate how we maintain our property. If landscaping was genuinely a concern, that was a conversation she should have had with her own client, the seller, while she represented them. Instead, she chose to confront us, weeks after closing, while we were still moving in and adjusting to a new home with a pregnant wife. This was inappropriate, unprofessional, and completely out of line. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Jillayne Southren or trust her judgment in a real estate transaction.

After living in our current condo in Hoboken for no more (and no less) than 2 years 4 months and 22…read moreto 28 days, we were informed by our landlords that the unit was going to be put on the market and we would have 60 days to leave once it went into contract. After this conversation and subsequent disbelief, I remembered this tiny little clause that lurked unsuspectingly on the first page of our lease.....in bold, practically unmissable font with 18 arrows pointing to it (well, maybe not 18) that stated the above to be very true. After some thought, we decided that 60 days (assuming the condo would sell fast, which it did) was not enough time to locate and purchase a house (our original plan) and started looking for rentals in the area. In January. With no fee (unplanned move + large realtor fee..ehhhh.) Well, we started looking out deeper into NJ but that didn't go as planned, so AFTER that we looked online (craigslist mostly) for units were similar to the one we were in. I saw Konstantin's name on a few of the posts, and texted him around 11am on a Sunday. Right around 11:02 I heard back, and by 11:08 we had four appointments set up with him. Such last minute, on a cold Sunday in January? No problem. Awesome. Konstantin took us to the first property we picked and took the time to note our preferences, likes, dislikes, must haves, must have-nots, etc etc. He then automatically weeded out the rest of the day based on that. No wasted time, no irrelevant showings, no "well, let's just go look..", none of that "I know this has a fee but it's so perfect!" - just exactly what we wanted served up on a silver platter. How? Konstantin knows the market like the back of his hand. He did well, because we found our place that day. Due to our situation with the condo not yet being sold and not being able to actually sign a new lease until it was, we had to sit on it. It was an awesome deal in a brand new unit that was only made possible by two month free special. Needless to say, we got restless, and needed some advice. Konstantin's job was completed at this point - he found us the place where we wanted to move next. Yet...he continued to e-mail with me regularly and talk on the phone about our options, renters rights, risks of not signing, etc. And even weeks later, when we needed to have "that conversation" with our landlords, he was on the phone with beforehand, dolling out advice on how to frame the discussion so I was nice, but made the point that we had been great tenants, very accommodating with the endless showings, and it was time we got a guaranteed move date so we could capitalize on the deal. Everything worked out in the end, and I sure hope he got an awesome commission from the complex on this. When our new lease is up, barring major changes in the location of our employment, we plan on buying a house...somewhere. Konstantin is going to be our first call, because I feel like the no-nonense, no-BS way to buy a house is the way to go. I know he will always have our best interest in mind. Even if where we want to go is in an area he doesn't have as much expertise...we trust that anyone that he refers us to would offer up that same experience. If you are new to Hoboken (or the surrounding area), or even if you already live here, are looking for a new place, and want some help - Konstantin is your man.

The main reason for this low review is the ridiculous fees they add to the rent. This year they added a mandatory $50 internet surcharge to all apartments with no ability to opt out if you want to use a different provider. I use different internet at a much lower rate and would be forced to pay my current provider AND the fee if even if I don't use the provider they're forcing onto us. They then refused to consider reducing my annual rent increase by just $50 to account for this ridiculous new fee. Would avoid renting from them if you can avoid it, as you should expect your rent and hidden fees to go up meaningfully every year until you're priced out and forced to move. Stay away!
