So mom needed to replace a key fob for her Honda CRV 2018. We investigated going to the Honda but mom found out it would cost like $400 so someone suggested this place this keyless shop and at 131 back River neck Road Essex, Maryland. So first, let me say the shop was clean a little disorganized with clean The man certainly knew what he was doing and within 10 minutes he programmed the fob, cut the key and double checked everything actually triple checked everything because I left the door open. I was amazed how kind he was and he didn't seem like he was taking advantage of my mom. My keyfob stopped working. Gradually, it slowed to a complete failure. All i could do was unlock the car manually, which resulted in the car alarm sounding.And that was annoying enough when it would not stop. Thank goodness my husband's keyfob was working. I never do reviews, so for me to take time out of my day to leave one, you know it's something serious. I -- paid to have a remote key made for my car in October of last year, according to my bank statements. The remote key Eddy gave me was good for three months. In January, I began to notice the wear and tear of the key remote, deteriorating. The quality of it, is basically not worth paying $125. In a sense, yes, you get what you pay for, but I shouldn't have paid Eddy $125 for a remote key that didn't even last me 6 months. I called Eddy ...... and let him know of the situation at hand. No accountability was taken at all. He kept deflecting, respectfully, stating that his customers never really complain or have any issues with the keys that he programs and sells. At that time, I was fed up, because my mentality is: If I sell you a product, that you spend a lot of money on, and it doesn't last long, I wanna do everything in my power to right my mistake, so you can come back to me for business and even tell your friends and family which in turn brings me more business. Eddy advised me to come to his shop so he can look at the key, so I did that. Upon arrival, mentally, I just was not pleased with how he chose to conduct business. I enter the shop, show him the key, more deflection was in the room. No accountability was taken. He advised, that I spend another $125.00 for a more sturdier and durable remote key that would last longer than the original remote key he sold me. At that time, I didn't have the funds, so I was trying to negotiate. I said "Respectfully, I feel like being that you sold me a key, that didn't even last me 6 months, I deserve to at least get another remote key for half of the original cost or even 30% off, something. Something has to give." He was stern in his reply and respectfully declined. He then proceeds to say, "I can just give you a new chip and wire the chip to your car, that's the best that I can do". He offered to wire the chip to my car for free being that my remote key he originally sold me, didn't last long. Me being the customer, what choice did I have? So I gracefully said Okay. He wired a new chip to my car, and recommended that I use glue to put the remote key back together/close it. From January to May, the key wouldn't start my car. So I had to rely on the original key I received when I purchased my vehicle, to get around. We are now in the month of August, and August 02, 2023, my car's anti theft was on and my car wouldn't start because it needed a chip.......... So who do I call? That's right, I called Eddy's Keyless Key Shop in Essex. I explained to Eddy, that the anti theft was on in my car and my car wouldn't start because I needed a new chip. Once again, we got to negotiating, this time, he charged me $75 to install a new chip in my already non working key remote. He comes to me, hooks up his computer to my car, does the work and programs the NEW new chip. Mind you BEFORE he came to me, everything in my car worked including my Radio. After he got done, I paid him $75 and we parted way. I turn my car on, everything works BUT MY RADIO AND BACK UP CAMERA. So at this point, not only do I feel scammed but I feel disrespected because in a sense, he insulted my intelligence. I called him today (08/03/2023) and explained that there may have been a possibility that when he hooked up his computer to my car and did his work, that he may have disconnected my radio and backup camera. Once again, he deflects and in every statement he makes, he says he's been in business for 9 years and the work he does, never in a sense makes mistakes or interrupts anything. No accountability. So I have my messed up remote car key, a new chip installed in the remote car key, and no functioning radio or backup camera. Instead of taking accountability and offering a solution to fix his mistake, this man will literally deflect and not own his faults, and then charge you same price for his services. I don't think I'll be doing business with Eddy in the future, and I don't think I'll be recommending his business to friends or family. I am disappointed, dissatisfied, and I'd honestly recommend to anyone reading this, take your business elsewhere and save yourself the trouble of spending money on a product that won't even last you 6 months or more. I'd also advise that you guys don't do business, with someone who won't take accountability in the event that their product isn't up to par or doesn't showcase durability. Keep your money and go to a business that will program your key remote and give you a long lasting and durable key remote, so you won't have to call in three months or make any callbacks at all. read more
