Such a fun experience! I came here with a group for a bachelorette party on a Friday so we had a larger lounge space all to ourselves which was great. The staff was fantastic and incredibly attentive. But the main attraction was obviously the dueling pianos and these guys were the best! Absolutely amazing and so talented. They gave our bride-to-be a special song and brought her up on stage which was fun. Will for sure be coming here again! read more

I found this to be a very expensive experience for what it was. We paid $300 up front for a"VIP" table, then still had to each pay a $10 cash cover. When we got in, our "VIP" table was just a normal table, no different from any of the rest and not even in a very good location. We talked to the manager who told us that the people at better tables actually paid MORE than us, which seemed rude since we didn't realize that reserving a table was a bidding war. The drinks were okay, expensive and not amazing. But the service was really bad. Me and a few friends (all early 20s girls) went to the bar for drinks and the bartender went ahead and made drinks for about 10 people who ordered AFTER us before he got around to making ours. We asked why everyone was getting served before us and they said "well we aren't giving anyone preferential treatment." Kind of hard to believe. It seriously took them 15 minutes to get us SHOTS while we waited at the bar and watched them serve everyone else in line. And the staff were all super rude about it. On top of all the money we already paid too, we didn't realize you had to BRIBE the pianists for song requests. They were basically up there begging for money the whole time. We had to pay them $60 to acknowledge my friends birthday, but at the end of it they just kept calling up a very drunk woman to the stage because she was feeding them $100s. It was sad and hard to watch. The pianos were cool, but I wouldn't say it was worth the money or bad service. The place wasn't very nice either, pretty sticky with awful seating. If you're looking for a great experience, find somewhere else. read more

Wow. There is really no experience this can be compared to. The inside is set up with two pianos on a stage, about 5-6 beerhall-style tables, meaning just a long table that you share with other people, and standing room in the back in front of the bar. They only have shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, starting at 9 until 1:30, and the cover charges are $0 on Thursdays, $5 on Fridays, and $10 on Saturdays. I can comfortably say that even for $10, the cover is incredibly worth it, so $5 and $0 are no brainers if you can afford staying out so late. Either way, the shows are basically all request driven; the crowd requests songs by leaving tips on the pianos, and they're (roughly) played from largest tip to smallest tip. You can even pay one more dollar than the requested price to kill a song if you don't like it, which can lead to some pretty entertaining (and expensive) bidding wars! They know pretty much any song of any genre and their improvisation skills are off the charts too. They sure know how to keep people entertained and engaged, and it's really juts non-stop fun for the whole night! I will definitely be back because every night comes with new requests and the musicians switch off too. I'm definitely adding this to my go-to spots for fun in Seattle and you should too! read more

Really love this place! Went there with a couple of friends after eating at one of local Queen Anne restaurants. So we were in search of something to lift us up from the food coma. And they delivered in a big way. There were about 4 different birthday/going away/bachelorette parties going on. So people were in a partying mood. And the performers delivered mixing up style of music from rock to country to rap. Plenty of singing along and audience participation. They accept tips in order to get requests played. Tips range from $5 to around $20 depending on how quickly you want your song played. All the tables were full so we were standing up in the back at first but we met plenty of people at the tables and were singing and dancing with them by the end of the night. This is a must visit if you plan on going out with a large group of people in Queen Anne. read more

This place rocks my socks!! We saw them perform at Beerfest and we knew we had to go see them at their venue. What a great time. At Beerfest their set was a little different, as they didn't have audience participation telling them which songs to play. But at keys on main it was totally different and totally crowd driven. The way it works is, the audience writes a song down and gives it to the pianist with a tip $1, $5... Or more. The more you spend the higher priority your song is. $20 is an instant play. If you hate the song (example one of the guy pianist was trying to get someone to pay him to play something instead of Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA") which you then bid to get it to stop. If you have a birthday guy/gal you can pay and get them on stage to embarrass the shit out of them! For instance they sang "Rubber Dick-y you're the one, you make bath time lots of fun..." To a single birthday gal. Or "Itsy bitsy Teenie wienee 2" shriveled up peenie" lol. Good thing the birthday folks had a sense of humor! Yikes! Hahahaha! It's a great time, I highly recommend going! They have a waitress that brings drinks so you don't have to get up and stand in line. I had 3 beers for $14... Not too bad. Great for groups! Only bad thing was finding parking, took almost an hour to find one! Unfortunately Michael Buble' was playing at the key so all the parking garages were full too! What a nightmare! Keys on main is so much fun and the pianists are crazy talented. It's a great place to go for a wide variety of celebrations. Would recommend making a reservation as spots can fill up quickly on the weekend. The only downside was the the drink menu. It's a pretty basic cocktail list and nothing is stellar, but you're not going there for the specialty drinks. Would highly recommend checking it out at least once! read more

It's hard for me to think of piano as much more than that large instrument my parents forced me to play when I was young, so when I heard this place had two of them I didn't think much of it. Let me just say this isn't your grandma's slow jams snore fest. I had so much unexpected fun the first time I went and I've been back several times since. It's two people playing songs that the audience requests. You can pretty much request anything and they'll play it. If they don't know the song (that doesn't happen often), they'll look it up on the spot and do their best, which is usually pretty great. There are two guys in particular that are my favorites. The there's one with long hair that does a great cover of any Micheal Jackson song and there's a dude that wears a hat and glasses who's phenomenal at rapping. I love Keys on Main and used to come here when it was called Chopstix also. It's a wonderful little piano bar and the Musicians are awesome. It's a great place for Birthday parties, Bachelor/ette parties, Divorce parties (why be sad when you can be drunk belting Bennie and The Jets with your besties?), basically anynight is a great night for singing and drinks. If you're coming with a large group (especially weekends) and want a table, you'll definitely want to make a reservation. I also always bring cash for songs, but there's an ATM if you need. Totally not what I was expecting when I heard "it's a piano bar". The place is a little rowdy; very fun, pretty loud, with a lot of energy. The room was packed with what seemed to be mostly birthday and bachelorette parties. There were two guys playing piano/keyboard and singing. They would take requests on cards with tips attached to them and would order the songs based on the tips. People were requesting all kinds of songs and the guys seemed to handle it well. The number of folks packed in, and everyone's good mood, made it a pretty fun and energetic room. I was expecting a hard time getting a drink but my server (I think her name was Trina) was able to squeeze past the adjacent bachelorette party to get me my beer. Don't come here if you want nice, quiet piano music. Do come if you want to sing or even dance along with a raucous room of folks to some fun, bumpin music. read more

So let me preface this review by saying, we came on the wrong night. There were no less than 6 bride-to-be parties happening at this dueling piano bar at 10pm on a Saturday night. While they were having what seemed like a good time, and I'm sure they would say the night was amazing, I was not a fan. The entire place reminded me of the "Woo Girls" episode from HIMYM. On to the review! The drinks were weaker than usual, but the servers were super attentive and your glass (made out of plastic. Yes, plasticware) can be refilled the moment you are done. I appreciated the level of service, especially since there was barely room to move in that place. The real talent of this place is exactly what you would think: the dueling pianists! Oh man, these guys (there was a rotation of three) were phenomenal. I was so impressed by the sheer level of talent and ability to improvise. While I wasn't a fan of most of the song selections (see above for crowd demographics), the musicians were amazing! They are the only reason we stayed as long as we did. Bravo, fellas. read more

Keys on Main (formerly Chopstix) is a blast. The dueling-piano players are fun, funny, and do a great job of working the crowd in addition to being super talented. There is no cover, drink prices and selection are pretty standard, and I've never tried the food - the real focus is truly singing along with the players and the crowd at the top of your lungs as the hits keep rolling. You would have to dislike fun to have a bad time at Keys! Note: Girls - there are $3 drink specials on Thursday nights. The pianists indicated they wanted songs more fun than classic rock and the usuals so we got lots of rap and other songs that we found hard to sing along to. Might be a good plan by management to have a classic rock night and an 'everything else' night so ppl can choose which they prefer. We made a rez but didn't need to. Could have walked in at 9 or later and gotten a table. There definitely would have been standing room at any hour. Whenever I tell people about this dueling piano bar, they expect it to be peaceful and jazzy. It is definitely lively and exciting, and the super talented musicians really know how to get the crowd going. There's almost always at least one birthday in the house, whose friends get them on stage where they are serenaded with a dirty song. The crowd is always singing along, dancing, and having a good time! $10 on Saturdays, $5 on Fridays, and free for ladies on Thursdays, the value is great. You'll have to pay more to request songs, which can be $40+ on a busy night but a mere $5 on a slower one. Drinks are reasonably priced - I always opt for the Malibu Bucket! I've come to Keys on Main a fair number of times. I've noticed that the same songs are played and the same jokes are told, but I suppose that is expected when you go on 3 times a week and need to consistently provide quality entertainment. Again, the musicians are extremely talented, and the music is pretty spectacular. Overall, it's always a fun time! read more

I stumbled across Keys on Main on a news article and i decided to check it out tonight. I enjoyed it so much, good drinks, good musicians, good venue. Chris was so amazing. What talent!! We came here to celebrate a family member's college graduation and had a wonderful time watching such talented musicians thrill us with their depth of skills! Probably most impressive was the spot on rapping!! Ranging from Cardi B to Snoop Dogg!! To move from a 3 to a 4 or even a 4 to a 5 I would recommend hiring more friendly staff and cleaning the place. Where has dueling piano bars been in my life until now? I discovered my first dueling piano bar on a whim during a trip to Austin, and the first thing I did when I returned home was to look for one in Seattle. And that's how I dragged all my friends to come check out Keys on Main with me. At first I was nervous that it won't be as good as I remembered and that I may have hyped it up too much for my friends, but man did it live up to expectations. Everyone in the group had a fantastic time and kept on asking why we haven't been to this place until now. If you don't know what a dueling piano bar is, you might think it's a chill venue to listen to piano music, but boy would you be wrong. People in the audience request songs they want the pianists to play (with a tip). The typical playlist ends up being, more often than not, Sweet Caroline, Sweet Home Alabama, Ignition, Bohemian Rhapsody, that type of deal, but they can play pretty much anything that you'd want to hear at a bar. If you're not into that kind of music, this place probably isn't for you. But those who are belt their hearts to to sing along with the songs, and the players encourage it to. The players were super talented and fun and the place just had a great atmosphere. There's almost always a bachelor/ette or birthday party going on, so you can always enjoy watching some poor soul get roasted with song on stage by the players. read more

I've never been to a bar like this, where there are awesome pianists with AAAAMAAAZING vocals that sing requests to songs, to their own rendition. So, so fun and I really enjoyed myself!! WARNING: Reservations do NOT guarantee you a spot at this establish!! Worst customer service experience I have encountered in years. I made reservations for my birthday almost two weeks ago, my reservation was confirmed via email and I also received a phone call the night of confirming my reservation again. I arrived around 830pm and was informed my party of 10 was on the "wait list" and there was no spot for us. The staff was rude and dismissive, the "manager" walked away from me mid sentence and just started pouring drinks behind the bar. She also told me the "reason" is they over booked reservations by 30%, what's the point of making reservations then?? We were continuously treated as if 1- we were wrong/at fault and 2- they could not have cared less. The only reason we got a spot, crammed in a corner where we couldn't see and had no table service, was because another group overheard our issue and crammed us into their space with them which incurred a snarky remark from the door guy and he then proceeded to take chairs away from my party (like literally asked them to stand up and just took their chairs away) because we inconvenienced his path. At one point we tried to ask another staff member to help and were ignored with "my job is just to watch the door". In the interest of fairness we were comped a handful of drinks which is appreciated, but it was far too little too late. read more

15 of us went on Saturday night (July 20th) for my daughter's Bachelorette Party. This was my first time back since it changed from Chopstix to Keys on Main. There were also 4 other Bachelorette Parties there that night too. The first problem occurred when we ordered drinks. One of the girls paid for her 2 drinks ($18) and paid with a $50 bill. 30 minutes later, they were still waiting for their $32 in change... After several inquiries, and over an hour later, asking where their change was, (the waitress had several excuses, like only the bartender can make change & he's way too busy right now, we don't have enough $1's, blah, blah, blah), I informed the bartender that our guest wanted their change now. ( I knew this was a classic waitress/bartender trick to pocket more tips). Our guests had their change within a minute after that. After I demanded the change, our service got worse and our drinks got lighter & lighter to a point one of our guests was adamant there wasn't any vodka in her vodka & tonic. 3 hours & a whopping total of 4 very weak, watery drinks later for me, I ordered a round for the table & was informed by the waitress that they would no longer be serving me. WHAT??? Are you KIDDING ME??? When I asked why, the waitress informed me the bartender had made the decision... A man I talked to once, an hour & 1 drink after arriving... Needless to say, our party tabbed out immediately, (no tip), and left which was very unfortunate for several reasons: 1.) the piano players were really good but their servers & bartender cost them 15 well paying customers who were prepared to finish out the night at Keys. 2.) We collectively had over $500 in cash were were willing to pay the players with and had been paying $10-25 a song request. Not one of the other Bachelorette Parties seemed to have been cut off or had trouble getting service. Which brings me to another point, if you go to Keys, don't pay more than $1 to $5 for a song. If the piano players don't like it, don't want to pay it,or the crowd isn't responding favorably to it, they players offer customers a chance to shut the song down by paying a minimum of the same amount paid to play it & then you're out money (our songs were shut down numerous times after paying more than $20 for each song) and there are no refunds! Piano players keep it all. Being treated the way we were at Keys gave several recently engaged women in our party a chance to see Keys is not the place to have your Bachelorette Party. Good customer Service goes a long way and you won't get it at Keys. read more

My visit to Keys on Main was just the second time I have ever been to a dueling piano bar and my experience here left me wondering why I haven't gone more often. If you don't know what a dueling piano bar is, they take two expert piano players who also happen to be great singers and have them compete for attention, affections, and, most importantly, your cash money. They take song requests which are prioritized by the size of the tips left on their respective pianos along with the request slips. Keys on Main has a great roster of talent and the three rotating performers that were there on this night were definitely on their game singing a variety of tunes that included everything from Billy Joel and Whitney Houston to Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar. These fine folks could absolutely throw down no matter what the genre which they proved by deftly navigating through old school hip hop, classic rock, dance music, and even some current top 40 hits. Meanwhile, the hustling crew of cocktail waitresses kept a steady stream of drinks flowing to the tables while the bar staff just kept pouring and pouring until it was finally time for last call. Yes, the atmosphere is fueled by alcohol as much as anything else, but this is a genuinely fun and upbeat adventure if you choose to properly participate. Be prepared to clap your hands, sing along to the songs, and generally have a great time alongside birthday parties, dates, and other various groups who are all out for a night fun times. Lastly, there is never a cover charge and they do take reservations for parties of just about any size so this is a great venue to bring groups of just about any size. read more

We went on Friday night with a group of 12 and were in the VIP lounge area! It was fabulous! From the minute we walked into Keys we were met with hospitality! We had a server who was dedicated to making sure that we were having a good time - Sarah is the best! The drinks were yummy and the food delicious. And, the main event was phenomenal. The piano players are great! They are very talented and really work to engage the audience in the show - after all, it is an all request, sing along, clap along kind of show. We heard EVERYTHING: Cher, Britney, Journey, Lyrnd Skynrd, Michael Jackson, Nikki Manaj, Jerry Lee Lewis, B-52s, Kenny Loggins, Guns N Roses. It would be easier to tell you what we didn't hear - bad music. The interior is fresh and comfortable. The VIP lounge is wonderful! If you're going to celebrate, I highly recommend going all the way and booking it! It's so worth it - comfy couches and chairs, a table to keep drinks and food on. And, you get shout outs from the piano player. (Hey, everyone likes their moment in the spotlight.) Even if you don't have a special occasion to celebrate, make this a destination for a night out. Have no idea how this place has only four stars. Keys on Main deserves a million stars. This is by far one of the coolest places to go any night of the week. Monday, check. Tuesday, check. Friday and Saturday, hell yes! The staff is friendly and the drinks affordable. There is no food so make sure you eat prior, which there are a lot of choices around the corner. I've been to about a dozen piano bars across the US and this place has the most talented pianist I've seen. They can play anything from an old hair band song to rap music to old classics. Welp, I finally had a 1-star experience worth Yelping about. Let me start off by saying that I am not a prude. Having said that - this place is degrading and completely crosses the line. I am all for some adult humor, but making a poor birthday girl come up on stage and simulate oral sex in detail on a microphone when she was clearly uncomfortable is just beyond inappropriate. Funny thing - the last time I came here, it was my birthday too, though I made sure not to display any attention-grabbing paraphernalia. It was late, about 12:30 or so, and I wanted to go out for the remainder of the eve, and wanted something more lively than a cocktail bar. I hesitated when my boyfriend suggested this place, but decided to give it another try. (Visited Chopstix a few times and wasn't overly thrilled.) The bartender was quick to serve us, and he was nice enough. Though I admit that it's true - the drinks are watery and weak here. After we got our drinks, we grabbed a seat at one of the many open tables. A few minutes later, the birthday girl I mentioned earlier was reluctantly pulled up on stage while the pianists sang degrading lyrics to her about her being a floozy with a half dozen boyfriends. She looked humiliated, and when she tried to sit down, she was then given the microphone to perform on. Is this place for real?? I was uncomfortable watching the whole scenario and felt bad for the poor girl. After that act concluded, the guys continued to perform. Brainstorm a bunch of overplayed songs from the '70s - '90s and that was pretty much the playlist. You know the ones - Sweet Caroline, We Will Rock You, Friends in Low Places, etc. etc. - I realize these were requests from the audience, but can we all just make a pact never to request those songs ever again? This place is always packed with girls' birthdays and bachelorette parties. What I'm getting at is girls seem to go nuts for this place, which makes for *ahem* interesting scenery. I used to play the piano and going to this place makes me want to start taking lessons again. Your night can be taken in a few different directions, depending on who is behind the keys: Jordan is an absolute riot. He is boisterous, quick-witted, and my favorite of the bunch. Not to say there isn't plenty of love to go around. Zach brings a rock edge to the plate. He plays guitar like a madman! Ben can rap surprisingly well. How well, you ask?! Sigh. I can't come here on Saturday anymore. Not because of the establishment or the pianists (because they rock) but because of the rowdy crowds. Last time I went, there were these two obnoxious guys in their mid 20's that kept on dancing around even though there was absolutely no place to dance. And it wasn't even your typical normal dancing! It was sloppy tango one second, then a whole lot of "interpretive dancing" the next. They bumped into me a few times and made me spill my drink without even apologizing. The manager looked on, gave me an apologetic look and helped clean up the mess. Drinks: waste of money on busy nights -- there was barely any alcohol in our drinks. Music: If we can somehow set up a list of songs that can be played only ONCE a week, that would be nice. Because drunk people seem to have this playlist that they want to hear but people like me -- we're just tired of hearing it. So here's my list of songs that are forever banned at Keys on Main...they're great songs, but it's overdone. So stop requesting it people. Just stawp it!! 1. Piano Man 2. Bohemian Rhapsody 3. I love this place! Aaron, Jordan, and Zach performed the Saturday evening that I was there. They played and sang everything from Sir Mix-a-Lot's "I like big butts" to AC/DC with a lot of energy, spirit, and style. Jordan is especially funny. It's interactive so be prepared to sing, clap, and throw in $5-20 bills if you want to request songs. A fair warning though: the girl to guy ratio was 5 to 1. There were more than a handful of bachelorette and all-female birthday parties present. And, it gets crowded quickly with not enough seats to accommodate everyone. read more

I love this place! I've had my birthday here the last 2 years and it's been a blast! My ONLY complaint, was that on my last birthday party, they were out of Amaretto on a saturday night... however, I just ordered something else and it was still fantastic! The piano players are so much fun, (and boy are they good looking too!). Anytime anyone needs an idea for a get together, party, etc, I am always quick to recommend this as their first choice! read more
