We didn't have reservations but got there early and the guy at the door let us know we could grab a table once the music started on any of the open tables, fuss this gives time to the people who reserve to show up or lose the tables. The piano players I felt were more focused on the money per song and less about audience participation. Saw 3 other people (not black) walk up at separate times, stand next to me, and immediately get service. This was our 2nd time hitting this place up for my husband's birthday. He loves dueling piano bars. We made a reservation and did not know there was a cover charge. Okay whatever. There wasn't one last year. So we settle at a back table (the year before we were close to the pianos) thought with a reservation you would get more priority seating. Got some drinks and waited for the players to show up. They immediately start a spiel that if you want a song played it's $20. We were like what?!? That's crazy!!! Even Vegas doesn't do a minimum?!? Then you have to know the vibe of the crowd because even though you paid $20+ for a song of the players don't like it they will stop or change it. Not a great time. I think we paid a total of almost $200 (do they not get paid to play by the establishment?????) and maybe only 1/2 our songs got played. One of them they were basically begging for money to stop it.....so why play the song to begin with? You happily took our money for songs you didn't even play. Don't think we will go back. It's too bad because it is one of my husbands favorite things to do. We will save our money and hit the Vegas piano bars happily. If new management from last year it has gone down hill. read more

Came here with a group of 8 for a birthday party. Charged a $10 cover fee per person to get in, which wasn't disclosed when we made the reservation. Weird, but whatever. We were so excited for the dueling pianos and song requests but at the beginning of the night they announced that song requests started at $20. Wtf?? At the Tacoma location they happily play songs for a $2 then stop to play another for a $5, and quickly stop to play another for $10 and will go back to a song if someone throws down an extra $10 (to make it $15 for the previous song) and so on. This is the part we find to be so much fun as it gets people feeling included and competitive. But the Seattle location wanted $20 just for them to start a song they wouldn't even play more than 1/4 of?! Absolutely not. I would rather sit and listen to a set list of songs and tip the performances at the end. $20-$50 for a 1-3 minute song clip is insane. Table service was slow and several drinks were forgotten or incorrect. It happens, but for the price it was disappointing. The service at the bar was fast. Highly recommended the Tacoma location but will not return to the Seattle location. read more

Took some out of town guests to see the dueling piano and the pianists were entertaining. They managed to egged guests to put down $40-65 to play a song and they were very good. Things to consider: 1) Parking is a struggle unless you go to a parking structure. 2) they don't serve food but will allow food to be delivered. 3) no pricing on the drinks and they range between $16-18. SO MUCH FUN!! The piano players are amazingly talented. We went on a thursday and there was no table service. Only one bartender working, and she worked her butt off. There was a line the whole night. Recommend getting reservations and arriving a little bit early. Bring cash so you can request songs with a tip. They do not serve food so we went out beforehand, but I think you can order from nearby. Also, even though the website mentions ladies night and cover charges, that info is outdated. So, SO fun!!! We came for dueling pianos -- no cover on Thursdays. Tip: if you want to put in a request, bring plenty o' cash. The more you tip, and so long as your song request doesn't suck, the more likely it is that your request will go to the front of the line. This is a GREAT place for large groups of adults (make a reservation and show up early) with a good sense of humor and good taste in music. This is such a fun place and I had such a great time! While on a winery tour, we made a friend from California whom we invited to dinner and in turn, invited us to this piano bar. Honestly, I had no idea what to expect but once we got there, we found out it was ladies night (Thursday, $4 drinks for the ladies -- score!!!) and had such an awesome time. The bartender was by herself so we had a fairly rough start as she had no help when a bunch of people came pouring in from the front door. She made an awesome old fashioned and a French martini though! The show had already semi started when we came in. Two guys playing the piano live and they take requests the whole night! So, you write your request on a piece of paper, bring it up on stage to whomever you want to play your request along with a $5 tip (or more if you want your song prioritized) and they will play it for you. Yes, they sing the lyrics, too and get very animated when it comes to certain upbeat songs! I had a great time, of course... Requested a few songs and after the night was over, I really didn't spend that much either since it was ladies night. My stars were aligned. Everyone's having a great time, the pianists are ridiculously talented, and the drinks are yummy. I didn't purchase a seat so I stood in the bar area the whole night (but I kind of preferred that because I could dance around rather than stay seated.) $10 cover. That being said, the bald dude with the beard and giant hipster glasses made a comment about how he noticed early in the night that the audience was still too sober and "very Caucasian" hence needed to teach them how to clap on beat. Being a woman of color, I looked around and was like "hmm I guess non-white people are invisible?" but brushed it off as him just trying to make a joke. But when the other entertainer made a joke about how "all the white girls" were the only ones that shrieked when he asked who liked 90s R&B I again was like "really?? Again with the white people jokes?" And they made that joke twice. Not funny, super invalidating for the diversity of the audience and annoying AF. I rarely write negative reviews but the treatment me and my group received last Saturday evening was horrific. I made reservations and received an email confirmation to celebrate my birthday. We showed up to check in at 8:30pm and was told that although I had a reservation, they did not have space or a table for us. Mind you I paid it, had an email confirmation, and they verified it. When I asked to speak to a manager the host went to seek him out. Twenty minutes later he still had not come to the front. I went to the bar to let him know I was waiting and he said I would have to wait. Rudely mind you. Another ten minutes had passed and I asked him one more time. He then turned even more rude and began to be patronizing. After 45 minutes of waiting, meanwhile the show had started, we left. For MY birthday I was treated horribly, without regard, and completely disrespectful by the manager nonetheless. We were out entertainment for the evening as other venues we attempted to go were sold out. I would rethink or possibly call to verify that you actually have a spot before showing up. Apparently having a paid reservation means nothing and the management team will not help you if there are any issues. Will never attempt to go there again. read more

The concept is fun..dueling pianos playing requested songs from the crowd in a bar setting. I went on a Thursday so there was no cover charge, but really, it's not a place I would think should have a cover charge. It's a decent sized venue, lots of places to sit, and a bar in the back. The pianists take requests from the audience and are not shy to mention that the higher the tip, the quicker that song will get played. Ok, makes sense. But they're also not shy to point out and judge the customers who tip only $1 with their request. One pianist even said "here's for that one dollar..." and literally sang one line of the requested song then moved on to a higher tipping customer's request. Wow..rude much? And no, that requested song was not mine. I didn't request anything. I just watched. The pianists are talented musicians and seem to really be able to play anything in a minute's notice. But to have an entitled attitude where they lack appreciation for $1 tippers is just rude. I'm not saying they should only get $1 but I am saying that they should appreciate whatever tip comes their way. Overall it's a cool spot and fun to watch. But if it means watching musicians call out people on how much they tip or didn't tip...then I'd rather listen to a DJ. read more

They no longer serve any food but you can order in from nearby places or bring your own food. Drink prices are not listed in the menu - who doesn't list prices in a menu?! The entire show format was very contrived. The dueling pianists clearly had an agenda: get drunk people in bidding wars to hear a maximum of 2 minutes of the song they paid for, unless someone else paid $1 more to have it stopped. At one point the ladies in the room chipped in to pay $61 to hear Backstreet Boys "I Want It That Way" only to have some guy in the back (dressed in all black like the employees of the business) put down $62 to stop the song after a minute. What a hoax. If I was there for a bachelorette and spent as much money as the folks on Saturday did only to hear small parts of songs I actually like I would have been even more upset than I was. The crowd was 80% bachelorette parties 10% old drunk people standing up in the middle of the room waving their arms for the entire show, and 10% people who had been there before and were shocked at the changes like me and my friend. How does a place I once gave a 5-star review for become a 1-star business? When exponential growth in profits come before making sure patrons have a good time. I won't return to this place if this kind of practice continues. I'd rather pay $14/drink and hear music I want to hear than $5-9/drink and be forced to experience the song and dance run around they are now giving. Keys on Main, I believe, is a chain, which is cool because it means I can go to other keys on mains in other cities! On a whim, we decided to walk in and experience a great night of fun and entertainment. We paid the entrance fee, but there were no tables available, so we sat on the stools against the railing. They ended up being pretty great seats and we were close to the bar, so we could easily walk up to get drinks. The singers/musicians here are phenomenal. They're funny, charismatic and just so so musically talented. So the way this works is that you write down a song title and offer up a tip for the musicians to duel out on their pianos. If someone else out tips you though, they'll switch songs. I like that all the musicians have different personalities and that they aren't all thaaaat raunchy. I didn't even bother taking pictures of them my last visit, but here's what we got: - Pineapple-tini $4: Ladies Night pricing. I didn't like the aftertaste, so I wouldn't order this again. - Mojito $10: I just had a sip, but didn't like it. To be fair, I'm usually not into mojitos unless there's an extra fruit flavor. - Malibu Bucket $15: I like this one because it's super fruity. You can't even taste the alcohol. Live piano is a cool idea for a bar, but this place seemed a little too advertise-y. They only play your song when you drop a $20, or if it's your birthday or anniversary. Within the hour I was there for there were at least 8 celebratory songs and they have the person come up on stage. It can be a little tedious. Drinks are relatively cheap ~$8, but the service isn't too great. Waitresses and waiters walk the floor but you really have to go out of your way to flag them down. If you want to just walk up to the bar you can do that too, but the bartenders are so busy it takes a while to get a drink. It can be fun for a little, but I would only say this a good spot to drop in for a little. The 2 male pianists happen to be both quite good on the piano, with excellent vocal range, able to perform female vocals, and hard rock. One was able to rap as well! Environment/service: 3 stars. It was moderately busy, especially for a Thursday night. There was only 1 bartender so it took some time to get a drink. Value: 4 stars. No cover on Thursday is certainly a win. If you don't have a burning desire to hear your favorite played/sang, then it'll be fun and quite affordable. The two pianists were pretty good, so its not a surprise that they had plenty of $10-$50 (mostly $20) tips for each song request. I was very disappointed with my recent experience at Keys on Main on NYE. I was so excited to enjoy a piano bar on NYE as I've very-much enjoyed such bars in the past but was extremely upset at the way we were treated. I invited 8 friends to join me for the evening and made a reservation in the general section for 9 people. I saw several references to having a "table" on the website and was told that my group could lose our "table" if we were not to all show up by 8:45 pm. I also saw on the website that although they do not serve food at Keys on Main, they allow outside food and that we could have our serve bring our food to our table. When we entered the bar for the evening, we saw several long tables with chairs on either side. We were directed, instead, though to sit in a row of taller bar-size chairs in the corner of the restaurant, along the window. These chairs faced the back of one of the piano players and were elevated above the rest of the audience, thus creating an experience where we felt as though we were just surveyors of the evening and not participants. We were told that we had not reserved a "table" but only "seats" in the bar in a disrespectful manner from the manager. We could tell that the place had just been overbooked as we were the only people that need be alongside the side of the restaurant at an elevated height. We paid $20 each for those seats and were not even given any drink menus or song request cards. Needless to say, we felt shafted and overlooked. Also - the food situation was not as we imagined. We had to research the restaurants nearby ourselves and order on our own. We needed to meet the delivery person at the door and then hold a pizza box along with our drinks on our laps. Last but not least, my group was not able to talk amongst ourselves throughout the show as we could see was possible at the tables. We were lined along the side instead of sitting across from each other and could not move easily up and down our line due to tables crowding closely along our legs. This experience was among the worst I have had at any establishment. The one area that we felt equal to other patrons was thanks to our very kind server. read more
