Fantastic Sam!!! We used Sam because he was recommended to us and he did a great job. Sam remodeled four bathrooms and did an outstanding job. He personally supervised the jobs, completed them on time and did a quality job at a reasonable price. It's the best of all worlds. Buyer Beware. This firm's owner required an upfront deposit of $1000, which we provided, for our kitchen remodel project. In addition, we gave him detailed design drawings that we had prepared in advance, stating that we wanted the kitchen built to that design. He later surprised us and presented us with design drawings he had even another designer prepare, which was not necessary and a waste of our deposit. Later, in negotiating the contract, he would not provide some basic information within the contract that is required by the California Contractor Licensing Board, which eventually lead to him refusing to continue negotiations. Requests for refunds of our deposit have been thus far ignored. read more

Wow....Keystone Design Build, Inc. not only met, but exceeded every one of my expectations! The minute I met with Sam, I had complete confidence in his renovation process. Sam's design and workmanship could not have been better. He had complete expertise in every aspect of the remodel. Sam's attention to detail and doing all the extras was above and beyond the expected. He always made me feel like part of the team, made me feel like a valued client and always kept me involved in every step of the process. Eight months ago I purchased a vacation home that needed extensive remodeling work. Sam did a complete kitchen remodel, with cabinets, granite counter tops, all new appliances, three bathrooms, hardwood flooring, marble flooring, new windows, new roof, new garage door and painted the whole interior/exterior of the house. ZERO RATING! Met with owner SAM. Initial meeting was positive. However, this guy never followed up on this big project we were going to do. I had to contact him a couple of times to follow up and then he never returned my calls. He knew the project was large scale. Instead of providing estimates, photos and initial suggestions, Sam said to check HOUZZ and "tell me what you like". Aren't you supposed to be selling me your services and providing insights? We started with just doing our floor but he did such a goodjob that we ended up redoing the whole house! Not only we did the flooring we ended up refinishing all the cabinets, changing all the bathrooms, staircase and repainting all the walls also the fireplace. I meet Sam, owner of Keystone Design-Build, in February 2015 when I was looking for a contractor to remodel my bathroom and kitchen in my new condo. Sam was recommended to me by my long time natural stone polisher/cleaner. I was told that Sam did excellent work as he had witnessed many of Keystone's projects after completion. I had an idea on the stained glass tile I wanted for my backsplash and tub surround. Sam told me he knew the exact tile and we setup an appointment to review all the work to be done. Sam was on time and we discussed the various projects. Sam is an excellent designer and not just a contractor. Sam located a tile store that had a display of my specific tile, previewed it himself first, and then met me there to help me make decisions on my tile and quartz choices. He helped me make the appropriate choices and I was very appreciative for the extra time he spent with me. He also met me at Pacific Sales and assisted me to make kitchen and bath fixture choices, as well as select appliances and other various items needed for the project. It was very overwhelming to have to make so many choices at once, but he made suggestions that made it easy for me to choose. I was able to get an extra discount over the public by ordering through Sam. After getting Sam's very fair estimate, I signed the contract and Sam started the work. His subs were very good and always left my home clean, even if they had to make the same mess the next day. The tile I choose was not the easiest to install and I doubt many tile installers would have done a good job. But my tub surround and kitchen backsplash are simply beautiful. I am thrilled with how everything came out and believe I could not have found a better contractor. Subsequently, I have hired Sam to do several other projects (wrought iron stair rails, carpet, and cabinetry) and am so happy with everything Sam has completed for me. If you are interested in hiring a contractor, I highly recommend Sam and Keystone. One of my neighbors recently told me that he had recently hired a contractor to do some similar work in his new condo. He choose the contractor that had the lowest price. He told me that the work was being done very shoddy and that when he started complaining to his contractor, the contractor simply disappeared, never returned any calls, left the job half done and he was out all of the his money. So I guess what I'm saying is you get what you pay for. Sam is the real deal; professional, knowledgeable and 100% stands behind his work. ABOVE & BEYOND! Extremely talented, very professional and completely trust worthy. Considering our ideas, budget and timeline, I honestly didn't think it would be possible to pull off the project. Sam made it happen on time, within budget and even exceeded our expectations for the quality of the work that was done. He came back over after the work was completed, to replace a baseboard that had taken on some water from the dishwasher. Though the problem had nothing to do with anything that he had done, he actually fixed it for us without charge- above and beyond! One of the more enjoyable parts of working with Sam was being able to collaborate with him creatively. He worked hard to help us fulfill our vision, and had no shortage of quality input and ideas to best direct the project. All of this being said, it was the relationship we formed with Sam that will have us coming back to him for future work. He is kind, polite, compassionate and great with kids.
