Keystones Lanes is a low-key, no frills bowling alley in the city of Norwalk, CA. I made reservations very quickly and easily by clicking on their link through the Yelp app for 12/30/21 which happened to be a rare rainy day in Greater Los Angeles. My kids had cabin fever and were desperate to do something active and different. One lane for three people from 3:30PM-4:50PM was $54.45. From what I remember, gratuity was added automatically. Service at the counter was extremely slow. We waited around for someone to get our shoe sizes for several minutes. They weren't even that busy at that time. We arrived about 15 minutes before our lane reservation which ended up being perfect. My kiddos ages 7 and 8 were both given 5-pound bowling balls which worked out well for them. I didn't even have to ask about the guard rail. The nice female employee added them to our lane already and it popped up when it was their turn. No issues with the lane. We didn't get harped on for not wearing our cute Christmas-designed cloth COVID-19 masks... most other patrons did not have theirs on either. (They set us up with an empty lane in between.) If you disagree with my outlook on life and the absurdity of masks particularly for young kids, then okay. There is a snack bar. For parking, there is a sign on the front door saying to go around back and park. Huge lot back there. I'd definitely go back with my kiddos as Bowlero (which has several locations near us) charges around three times as much for their way fancier lanes and atmosphere.

Only $99.95 for 4 guests for 1 hour and 50 minutes. You can use 1 lane for up to 5 people for the same price and it includes shoe rental.

Came in today with the family to take our baby girl out for some fun. I like that we can reserve a lane before we get there. I reserved the lane at 9:11am for 4:00 pm today. It is $99.95 for up to 5 people for 1 lane for 1 hour and 50 minutes including shoe rental. When we arrived our names were on the board already which saved us so much time, all you had to do was hit the space button and the game would start. It was a lot of fun especially since mommy (me) won lol. Fun times with the family.

My friend and I came here to play bowling ,and his finger was cut by the ball and it was bleeding a lot ! We tried to ask if there have any alcohol for clrean at the front desk who is a big size lady wear glasses she told us they didn't have anything ! and she was slow to laugh at us !and then a guy name is david really mean for us !said lots of bad words ! We were injured, didn't get good medical care, and got offended. As a professional venue they should have the necessary equipment to deal with injuries, and they should ensure their balls are professional can not easy hurt finger! I feel terrible about their ball and service

David - manager who ignored me and never gave me a formal apology for my trouble.

I returned the evening of Monday 3/9/2020 at 5PM for shoe reimbursement. A woman by the name of "Reiko" told me she was "another manager." I had reordered new shoes online earlier in the day and had the receipt on my phone since it was emailed to me. She asked to see it and then rudely said "When I said bring in the receipt I meant bring in the ACTUAL RECEIPT." I just stayed silent because at this point I'm over Keystone and their high and mighty mentality. DAVID stayed in their office directly in front of me without ever looking my way or coming out to give a formal apology. He stayed on his computer and phone. Reiko proceeded to toss her card my direction so I could forward the email to her. I send it, and she goes to print it. She then comes out, hands me the payment and I walk out. Thank you for reimbursing me, but the fact that I had to wait for reimbursement and that they really expected the situation to be resolved by having a stranger return my shoe that they wore for the rest of their night/weekend is trash, and Reiko's major attitude didn't help resolve anything.

Not too shabby for a bowling alley. Good size with a good number of lanes to bowl. The bar area is better than most bowling alleys. :)

The wait was about an hour and a half, but since I called ahead, it didn't feel long at all by the time I got there. I did end up arriving about 15 minutes late, but after calling to let them know I was on the way, they were nice enough to still hold our lanes for us -- which I really appreciated. Despite some of the other reviews I've seen about service, I personally had a great experience. Our server was super helpful and everything we ordered came out in a timely manner. The only downside was the restrooms, which were a little dirty and could definitely use more upkeep. That was really the only thing that stood out in a negative way. We played two games and had a lot of fun, but I will say... bowling is definitely more expensive than I remember Overall, a fun spot for a last-minute celebration and I'd come back again!

However, most employees were cleaning in some way which was a good sign. It did feel a little more fresh and clean at this location than other ones. The entrance was interesting because I'm used to just entering the doors and immediately being inside the arcade, but you have to enter through the dilapidated Lakewood Center mall first, and then take escalators up to Round1. It's also a little hectic coming here, because it's right next to Costco. There were an adequate amount of machines, but it definitely seemed smaller than the other locations I visited in LA. However, the skill games and payout rates were very reasonable and fair, and I made out quite well! I won my first Getter Spin game here because the speed was pretty good. You do have to cherry pick a bit, as some of the popular or newer prizes were behind cheese wheels.

My husband played one of their machines and got a bonus of 400+ tickets, but then the machine broke down. We called a staff member to help us. She said that she was sorry the machine broke down and would call a mechanic to fix it and offered to give us back our credits. But this was a bonus with 400+ tickets! Those aren't easy to get! But she kept repeating the same information again and could only give us credits and not our tickets! We even asked to speak to the manager about this, she said that she would tell her manager about it! She told us that once the mechanic fixed the machine, the tickets would go to our card, but later when we saw that the machine was fixed, we did not see the tickets in our card afterwards! That woman lied to us and didn't even give us back our credits or tickets for the game despite how hard my husband tried to get that bonus! This is unacceptable! And she wasn't the worst one yet! We played another game and got some tickets to redeem a prize about 4000 tickets. But when we tried to redeem it at the counter, apparently, it counted as a high ticket prize so they had to get their manager to review the transaction and made us sign a form. Their manager was practically scrutinizing our game history like it was some kind of ledger and said that she wanted to call the previous Round1 we were at because she wanted to 'verify' whether we played those games and got those bonuses at the other Round1 which was completely unnecessary for such a small prize. It wasn't until 30 minutes later that she finally finished her call and let us redeem the prize but her tone was anything but apologetic for all the trouble she caused us. We went there to have fun. Not to be treated as criminals! Although she didn't say it outright, she was subtly accusing us of being cheaters or hacking into their system to earn tickets which is a blatant accusation. If we had such skills would we bother using them at an arcade? We're not professional hackers! Just simple arcade gamers! It was just the two of us redeeming a prize so it didn't bother us too much, but if we had a child and they did the same thing to our child who wanted a big prize but was denied the prize in spite of spending so much money trying to earn enough tickets to get the big prize when we could have easily just outright bought the prize elsewhere with less money I would have been furious and would not stand for it. My husband and I are never visiting this location ever again!

So there is definitely something about the atmosphere and the idea of the place that caught my attention. However, the condition and cleanliness of the restrooms really took away from the experience. I checked the restrooms inside the bar area and also the restrooms on the other side of the facility, and unfortunately, both needed significant attention. I noticed cracked flooring, cracked walls, deteriorated hinges and fixtures, and a hand dryer that looked like it had seen better days. The overall cleanliness was also not where I would expect it to be. Some of these are relatively small maintenance issues that, when added together, make a big difference. A restroom doesn't have to be fancy, but it should feel clean, maintained, and comfortable enough that customers don't hesitate to touch the faucet or use the facilities. The good news is that these are fixable things. A little maintenance, a good deep cleaning, and some attention to the details could make a noticeable difference. So, Cal Bowl, I'm actually giving you credit for inspiring me to want to bowl. But when it comes to the restroom experience, Maggie says: this needs some attention. I'm not writing this to be negative or disrespectful. Sometimes a business simply needs someone to point out what customers are seeing. Hopefully, this is helpful--and hopefully the next time I visit, I see some improvements.

Review #1010 2026-080…read more The Boardwalk Games & Arcade features different interactive games as well as an arcade with the latest & most popular games. The latter was reimagined in 02/2025 as The Factory Floor Arcade to feature a 1920s factory theme with 70 games & virtual reality attractions: Godzilla & Rilex Coaster. Players can redeem their winnings at the redemption counter that's stocked with prizes. The outdoor area is lined with traditional midway carnival games of skill & chance: 3-Point Challenge, Beach Ball Bust, Boardwalk Hoops, Bonkers, Dune Buggy Dash, Gearhead Knock Down, Hang Time Challenge, Hi-Striker, Ring Toss, Strike Out, Surf's Up, The Guessing Game (Knott's operator either guesses age or weight within a specific margin to win a prize), Woodstock's Birdbath (this is a "winner every time" game), etc. Both require additional fees from park admission. We rarely play at the Boardwalk Games & Arcade unless there's a collectible toy that caught our kids' eye. While it's a couple of dollars, it adds up due to the difficulty level, except Woodstock's Birdbath (but its prizes are less desirable), & the frustration of not winning anything after spending a lot of time & money. A $5 plushie might cost $50 after multiple failed attempts... yikes! We limited our kiddos to $20. One of the handful of times my eldest played, H won a Squishmallow at one of the booths on her 1st try! ^_^ Whoohoo! Recommended: If you're pretty skilled or just damn lucky, I'd say go for it!

In addition, they have claw machines that are all set to such a low rate of winning that it's totally not worth it at all. I wouldn't recommend it.
