Nice motel away from the hustle and bustle of New Orleans but within 20 mins of the French Quarter. The suites were updated and well kept. Front Desk and housekeeping were friendly and accommodating. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

i would recommend this motel to travelers with a vehicle and on a budget. it is in a safe location, quiet, affordable, 15 min (ok, maybe 17 min) drive to frenchmen and clean enough. would i stay there again? possibly, if i'm in a bind did i feel safe? absolutely yes were the beds comfy? yes affordable? totally! my issue was that it needs updating. the carpet felt gross. the loveseat in the sitting area seemed dirty. i didn't sit on it, nor did i put my clothes on it. the room was insanely humid. there was a de-humidifier in the room to suck out all the water in the air, and it still wasn't enough. it was impossible to have a good hair day. having said that, i really was impressed with how clean the room was over all. i even lifted up the mattress to look underneath. no issues. it is was it is. it's a budget motel.

Excellent value on the outskirts of New Orleans. My favorite room is 126. King bed, kitchen, big fridge, comfy couch and a flat screen TV, looks out over the marina. Diner has fabulous cheeseburgers and tasty breakfast. Would highly recommend this establishment.

I forgot this place was here after Katrina, when they had the Mac & Cheese showdown at the Farmers Market in Arabi i samples there's and i like it. My wife and I were trying to decide on which place to get lunch, we both wanted Poboys but i also wanted some Mac & Cheese. I had already tried most of the other places in St Bernard so we figured we would try them out. We ordered a Cheeseburger & Shrimp Poboy, Onion rings & Fries, Fried Boudin Balls. When we got the order it felt like a bag of bricks they really give you allot of food enough to make 2 meals out of it. Both Poboys were good, the cheeseburger had a ton of well seasoned meat, the Shrimp was good with lots of flavor. The Mac & Cheese was pretty good not exactly the same at the Showoff but still pretty good. The Fried Boudin was ok it was missing something, the fries were the typical generic flavorless fries and we got a shit load of them, 2 full dinner boxes full. Overall the food was good - will go back next time i am craving Poboys and Mac & Cheese. They are located on the side of the Motel you will see when your in the parking lot, but from paris rd you might pass it without realizing it.

The sunrise from the second floor of the hotel at the back of the building. Just gorgeous.

After that, the general manager was incredibly difficult to reach and refused to speak with me directly. When I finally received his response, it was essentially that the employee "should have known better" and that they would not be honoring what I had been told. That is unacceptable. If a staff member represents that an exception will be made, the hotel should either honor it or at least have management speak directly with the guest and take accountability. Instead, I was brushed off and left with a charge I had been told would not happen. Our office has about 20 people who travel to the area regularly for work, and based on this experience, we will not be staying at this property going forward. Terrible customer service, poor communication, and no accountability from management.

Totally jet-lagged... The staff checked us into a room next to a couple with 7 children, ages 8 and below who were in town for a birthday celebration, well... I imagine the San Francisco earthquake was much quieter. We both had a long sleepless night and the front desk was ineffective in quelling the disturbance after several phone calls. Question: The hotel wasn't fully booked so why not practice a bit of preventative maintenance in this case? Why subject someone to a night of little to no sleep? Makes no sense. When I spoke with the front desk in the morning, I informed them I fully intended to complain to social media regarding their dismissive attitude... they couldn't care less. This type of management interaction represents the antithesis of good customer service! The managements staff is asleep at the wheel at this location. After being informed of my complaint, The manager actually left me sitting in the lobby for 20 min completely disregarded as he went about his morning business. Obviously customer service is beneath him. He's obviously involved In other, more pressing matters. He actually seemed put out that I voiced my complaint. Please keep in mind that all Best Westerns are independently owned and operated thus they are not under corporate structure regarding customer relations and complaint resolution. That means that if and when a complaint arises, you're totally at the whim of the untrained and unprofessional staff. Caveat emptor. You may well have an ok experience at this hotel but if you encounter a problem, don't say you weren't warned. I was asked to leave after voicing my displeasure.... I left. Gladly. No apology was offered. *Refrigerator was not working and tv source was incorrect and thus inoperable. Buyer Beware!

One of my favorite moments was chatting with a gentleman in the lobby who helped with our luggage. We mentioned we were visiting from Pennsylvania, and he shared that his very first job was in Pennsylvania and actually knew our area. It was one of those authentic conversations that makes you feel more like a guest than just another room number. Our room in the older section was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Housekeeping and the nightly turndown service were exceptional. We also spent plenty of time at the pool, where the staff and bartender were fantastic. The drinks were great, the food hit the spot, and the Fourth of July pop-up DJ made for a really fun afternoon. The service was so personal that one of the bartenders recognized us by name when we ran into her on the street a few days later. The only miss during our stay was the famous Carousel Bar. We never managed to get seats at the actual carousel during our four nights--which is understandable given how popular it is and being the 4th of July weekend. We did sit just behind it. Unfortunately, the service there was noticeably unfriendly and felt completely out of step with the incredible hospitality we experienced everywhere else in the hotel. That one experience wasn't enough to overshadow an otherwise outstanding stay. Between the beautiful historic décor, unbeatable French Quarter location, easy access to everything, and a staff that truly cares about its guests, Hotel Monteleone absolutely lived up to the hype. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

However, many of the reviews failed to mention the train that runs through the nearby track around 4 and 6 in the morning. The first night it woke me up but after that it didn't bother me as much. But it may hinder me from staying there again. The room, not much of a view, even from the top floor but my private balcony was everything. Every morning I grabbed my book, stepped outside, existed the scene for a while. It was prefect. The complimentary hot breakfast starts at 6 and they take breakfast seriously. There's something for everyone with the spread they have. Parking: you're going to want to get the secured parking option. Trust, it's worth every penny. It could be considered pricey but in my opinion, not for the area. The other option is to park on the street. You decide. The property is newer to the area and sits right on the edge of the French Quarter so it's in great walking distance to everything going on. The carpet could stand replacing in the room. Actually thinking the smell that is on the whole 3rd floor could be from new carpet in the hallway. They don't realize some device like the Amazon Kindle is very much a pain to get on their Wi-Fi. You have a code but has to be entered on there webpage. We had to wait till we are somewhere else were you can just connect like Starbucks or McDs. I could create a hotspot from the MacBook if I had the hardline. Neither of our cellphone plans include hotspots. Like the dual pillows pick hard or soft. The bed was also very good. OK what's with not being able to an ice machine on every floor. It's a 3 story building and only the 3rd floor doesn't have an machine (really) or washing machine. They have Cox cable and you get all the HBO and more so huge credit for that. Our room had a mini microwave and the small refrigerator both were handy. Down to food only got bacon one day they seem to like the sausage links and turkey sausage patties. They did have chocolate milk. They have popcorn machine which is nice in the evening. They are close to several good eating spots. New Orleans Food and Spirits is great. The only thing keep this from a 4 star review was the smell in the room and 3rd floor. We checked in another Holiday Inn after leaving and there was NO smell at the new location.

She still refused and was not polite about it. I didn't try the food at the restaurant but the bar wasn't well stocked. They ran out of mixers on the first night of the conference. Upon check out I encountered Michelle again. I asked to confirm my room rate had been adjusted to the price of the block because it was showing more than what he should be. She quickly responded with a very rude tone that she can't change room rates. I told her we emailed our contact with the hotel and it was supposed to be fixed. She scoffed and told her eyes then began typing on the computer. No pleasantries, no small talk just an angry look on her face as she continued typing on the computer. When she finished typing she handed me a receipt with the adjusted room rate and never said thank you for staying with us or anything- just handed me the receipt and looked back at her computer. This review would've been given a 5 but because of her rudeness I decided a 3 would fit more of how I felt the stay went just because of 2 interactions with one disgruntled employee.
