We ordered fresh fish! The fish was hot but SO overcooked and GREASY! The hushpuppies were also greasy! I didnt get any crumbles so I went to counter and asked for some. Today, a coworker and I went to the Elgin, Texas KFC for lunch. I had the coupon sheet that comes in the mail, which I showed to the cashier. We ordered the 8-piece, 2 sides, and 4 biscuits and were going to use the coupon. When speaking with the cashier, she made it sound like that was the everyday price, so we placed our order. The cashier then charged us $32 which she had already put on the card. When I showed her the coupon, she went and got the General Manager, Christie Bell. Ms. Bell proceeded to inform me that I should have given the cashier the coupon first. I said fine, I will cancel the order. Ms. Bell said that all sales are final, and she could not do anything about it. She also said all the fast-food restaurants in Elgin are the same way. I assume Ms. Bell is following someone's orders. Is this what KFC has become? Google Elgin KFC and see their reviews. It is a shame that the franchise that Colonel Sanders started so many years ago has sunk to this. Came to this establishment and ordered a 1 PC chicken and 1 PC fish with 2 hush puppies and a side. I asked for extra hush puppies instead of the side of fries. See picture below of what I got. Instead of the side, I got 1 hush puppy. When I got to the window, I asked if I could add a 2 PC KFC chicken meal. A couple of minutes later, the cook (older Hispanic woman) began yelling in Spanish and threw the box of chicken on the counter. I asked the cashier if there was a problem and why did she throw the chicken. She replied, "well we don't like to add orders at the window so she's mad!" This is an a one off review. This is coming from someone who has frequent this place many times. If you really need fried chicken go literally anywhere else. I don't know how you mess up fried chicken at a chain restaurant but they managed to do that. Often serving the smallest and over fried pieces of chicken, stale biscuits, and yesterday sides. That's if you manage to get all the food that you ordered. If you go to this establishment prepared to go back to get things you're missing. Also be to wait an exceedingly long time for your food. It is not uncommon to have three or four cars waiting on food at the same time. As in they already paid and now they're waiting either in front of the store on the side of the store or by the window for their food. Don't think they've changes the oil since pre-COVID. Chicken should be golden not brown and black. Left a greasy thick film in my mouth and on my teeth. Sooooo KFC has been a special treat since I was a little girl. My Mom would take us and way back in the day you'd get a little box and desert and the chicken is always so good! We went to get my last KFC for a while as I was planning on going full vegetarian at the beginning of the year. We got a 6 piece original with Mashed potatoes and Mac n Cheese. Once we got home, I was so excited to indulge one last time. Boy how disappointing. The Mac n Cheese was watery and so were the potatoes. The gravy had been "stretched" by adding water til it was barely even brown. Then there was the chicken. The chicken was SOOOOOO DRY that the drumstick had nearly shriveled away til hardly anything was left on the bone. It was so bad, not even our dogs wanted the scraps. Really disappointing to go out that way, but I guess in a way it left such a bad taste in my mouth, we wont be back any time soon. read more

Plan your time wisely, make sure you have 20min+ to wait around on your food whether it's drive thru or inside with no one else around. Expect to check and check it twice as they are notorious for mistakes from witnessing multiple errors on the drive thru from missing drinks, giving orders to the wrong people or adding the wrong meal. read more

If I could gift this KFC a -5 I would. Pre-COVID they were slow and I'm talking 20 minutes average to process an order at the window, and I guess I should be happy that didn't change to be worst. I literally had time to write review while waiting for them to take my order. 80% of the time the prepare your order incorrectly, and 20% it's correct but they've given you chicken that has been sitting for far too long. My cousin is allergic to coleslaw and asked if she could substitute the item for green beans. The female manager running the shift around 6:45 this afternoon ( Tuesday, June 30) would simply not substitute this item. Mind you, this was not a written policy, and when I asked for the policy on this topic, she never revealed it and persisted to tell me she could not do this. This is unprofessional when you tell a customer you are unwilling to do something if there is no written policy because it makes it seem like you are biased or lazy. My advice is to ensure you have the proper documentation to support your claim, or you could be leaning towards a lawsuit. Obviously you can't expect much, but holy crap you should expect more than what I just got. Tip for the manager on duty, when you have people waiting twenty five minutes for their one little order, you shouldn't walk around texting on your phone. Then when you finally hand them the food, at least find the courtesy to apologize for the wait. There is no way this lazy crew should ever make $15 per hour. Tonight my family went to the LJSilv,ers and KFC in Elgin. We spent almost 100, to feed 8 people. We came with a 5 dollar coupon for a huge platter. they stated that they could not except the coupon on my smart phone, that it had to be printed (the coupon said that showing on a cell phone was ok) We asked for the manager and the lady that told us we couldn't use the coupon was the manager, a Ms Erica Muniz. We asked for the General Managers name and number and she informed us that she did not know the name or number of the General Manager (very smugly) When we arrived home we found that half of the items we ordered was not in the bags. We had to drive 10 miles back to the restaurant. When we arrived we showed the workers the receipt. We had circled all of the items that we didn't receive. They became belligerent, accusing us of not being honest. One girl said that she was positive that we received everything. The manager was our initial cashier, even though the receipt gave another name. When we returned the manager was gone. When I informed them that my spouse was on the phone with corporate, they asked us to leave and said they were closing 2.5 hours early because they were shorthanded. They did end up replacing the food once they realized my spouse was talking to corporate. Horrible, Hoorible service and attitudes. read more

Very disappointed in the service from this location , I went through the drive through at this location today at 7:20 pm. Was excited about having kfc chicken for dinner attempted to place an order for the family bucket for 8 pieces. Was told they did not have regular only crispy said they where out of regular and I could only have crispy. I asked if they where out as in they had no more at this location or if just the regular was not ready . Employee then came back to the intercom and said we have it it's just not cooked , I then asked about how long the wait would be before ready . I was then told 38 minutes until it would be ready . I then asked for a minute to look over minute and decide if I would get something else because of the wait or if I would wait for the chicken . Then the employee came back on the intercom and rudely asked so are you just going to wait there or you going to get the crispy or order the regular , I need to know so I can know if we need to make some . I then asked if I could speak to the manager and was told she was the manager she said her name was Samantha . I asked so you are not making any regular chicken until I place my order even though your out , this is the first time I heard of this at any of there locations . At this point the employee attitude and verbiage and elevated voice . Who seemed provoked by my request of regular chicken became uncomfortable. And I no longer wanted to place an order from them , I was unsure if some one would make my order special in the wrong way or the freshness of there food .
