Of course Sonic is Sonic, but you could at least expect basic service. Several weeks ago we came to this location and drove up to the pull-in spots and were told that their system was down and needed to reboot and asked if we could pull through the drive-through lane. Today we came again....same response. Seems that they're short staffed and just use the standard response of "our computers are down and need to reboot" as an excuse to only use the drive-through lane. Although the sauce options were repeated several times and verified, got home and had no sauce for mozzarella sticks, pretzel, or fried pickles. My partner's "groovy fries" ended up being dry crinkle fries with no sauce. Annoying at best. read more

Nothing to write home about, but it's a decent Sonic outlet. Service is friendly, but timeliness and accuracy is spotty judging by my experience and the multitude of 5 and 1-star reviews here. For example, they brought an order of corn dogs and slushee-type sodas out fast enough. But they didn't bring napkins or mustard (which I asked for when I put the order in), and it took a long time for those items to show up. Corn dogs weren't freshly fried, but they were hot. So average it out at three stars. Looks like you'll be flipping a coin when coming to this Sonic establishment! This location is terrible. I've ordered multiple times, at different times of the day and EVERY time I end up waiting 20+ minutes. Today I placed an order online at 2:20, got to the location at 2:30 to pick it up. Immediately after checking in it said the carhop was on the way and then it was dismissed. I tried pressing the button to call and it wouldn't work. I sat there until 2:55 when someone came outside finally and I asked about my order and said we had been waiting. She went inside and then brought my food out at 3:05. It was COLD AND WRONG. She apologized for the wait and said that she had to go back and help make the food. I don't believe this is true since my food was COLD. Get it together sonic, you literally have to cook food and serve it. Absolutely the worst service ever. The employees are all rude, with the exception of maybe two. They act like it's a bother to have to wait on you. They can't get an order correct to save their lives! We were told we couldn't have extra ice in our drinks because they we're having to save their ice because Halloween set them back. Although we've gotten extra ice several times since Halloween. The employee was super rude, I believe she just didn't want to redo our drinks. Got our order wrong anyways. This location has gone to hell since Ricky Rodriguez and Faye left. The employees would rather hang outside smoking than take care of their customers. I don't know what has changed in the last two weeks but this location has gone from bad to worse. In the past we have never been able to have our order completed correctly 80% of the time. Knowing that we started simply getting one or two drinks or milkshakes (simple not complicated at all i.e strawberry limeade or vanilla milkshake). Order in the app to not have to wait forever to get order taken, and wait over 25 minutes?! Unacceptable, especially during slow times when there is only one or two cars in the bays. Last time we were here we drove off after being the only customer here for over 30 minutes for two drinks. There's no way to get around it either, waited for the app order to not be received after 15 minutes and push the button for service only to be told to wait for them to get back to you. I never knew there was a sonic in Elgin Texas. Well I guess it really doesn't matter because they don't know how to get the orders right I've been here 3 × to get my order let's see if the 3rd time's a charm. Wouldn't recommend this place if you get special made burgers. Gas isn't cheap you know. For me coming here 3 time they could have least given me a free French fry or drink but nope . Horribel experience, my drink and tots were made incorrectly. When I asked for a refund I was given attitude and brought out new tots. When I explained I wanted my money back because I did not trust him to remake my food he rolled his eyes walked away and came back this with $3.23 which is less than what i paid for the cheese tots and didn't give me any receipe showing the refund. He was very rude and did not refund or address the mistake they made making my drink. The service is absolutely horrible. I was one of two cars in the stalls with an empty drive thru, I order a drink and an ice cream cone. After waiting over 20 minutes, I pressed the red button again. I was told rudely to "wait a second". Five minutes later, a woman asks how can I help you. I ask why is my small order taking so long. She then asked my name, I told her I ordered from the stall over 25 minutes prior and wasn't asked my name. She then told me again to "wait a minute". I drive the 8 miles every day to get a route 44 unsweet ice tea. I picked up the Ice tea this afternoon around 1:00. I had to throw the tea away because it tasted like french fries. I always ask for extra, extra Reeses in my blast because they never put enough. But then I think that's par for all Sonic's. When you go through the drive through, make sure to check and see if they gave you the right fries/tots because sometimes they get them mixed up. All in all though it's a good place to eat. read more

I ordered a mini mint Oreo blast. The kid that brought it out, brought the wrong thing. It was vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips on top. I told him it was wrong. He argued with me saying it was correct. Finally he went and remade it. Brought it back out. It looked right. However after a few bites, I realized all he did was put that original ice cream in a new cup, sprinkled a tiny amount of oreos on the top. I was already down the road at this point. When I got 1/4 down, there was no mint flavoring, just vanilla. At the very bottom was about 1/4" of mint flavoring with the chocolate chips. I was pissed. Can't remember his name, and it doesn't really matter at this point. This isn't the first time they screwed up an order. Dairy Queen next door will be getting my business from now on.
