I ordered a 2 piece dinner on 1-23-26 at 12:20 pm. They only had one piece original recipe so they gave me one of each kind. Both were very dry. There is no way they were cooked that day. Maybe not the previous day. I have been eating KFC for over 50 years. It has never been as bad as what I got that day. The mac & cheese was half full. The soda tasted like carbonation. Please avoid this restaurant. You will end up getting crappy service, incorrect orders and a staff that doesn't want to be there. I used to go here and appreciated that they gave discounts to seniors and veterans. Then they took those away. As a senior veteran myself, I took that as a slap in the face. After a couple of years I swallowed my pride and decided that if they needed my extra 20 cents that badly I'd give them another try. The last 5 times I went there. . .Four of those times, while I was standing waiting for my food, either they gave somebody the wrong order or somebody walked in that had looked at their to-go order when they got home and it was wrong. I kept coming back because at least they got my order right. However, the fifth time, after I got home and ate my dinner, I had violent diarrhea for 3 days. I've learned my lesson and won't go back. Both orders only had 9 nuggets and they were very small. If I could have rated this business any lower I would have. My wife doesn't like original recipe but was willing to take it but at a discount. The manager (Abby) she spoke with was not professional at all and replied "No" she said that we could either wait 30 more minutes on the extra crispy or except the original recipe no apologies just take it or leave it. She proceeded to tell us that "WE" needed to understand that we placed our order at dinner rush time and they were extremely busy. Well no dah! I feel that we gave them plenty of time to fill our order and if they are that busy at dinner rush that they are unable to take care of their customers STOP TAKING CUSTOMERS. Anyway we will never give this KFC on Rice Rd. and 291 in front of HyVee our business again. Abby is not very good at her job and is a poor example of your management in your establishment. The service at the Lee's Summit KFC is AWFUL! Lobby was closed on Sunday, September 17th, 2023, what, are we back in the COVID era, so had to go thru the drive thru at 11am, and they would not take my order because I wanted the 16 piece chicken meal, told me that it was a 25 minute wait, and refused to let me pay and come back to pick it up. Went back through the drive thru after the requested 25 minute wait, and was told that it would be another 25 minute wait. Is there any possibility that Yelp would provide the option for half a star or no star? Because this restaurant is the best example of bottom barrel service. Let me put it to you this way, I've been to Go-Chicken-Go off of Troost and have received better service. The reviewer who gave this 5 out of 5 stars before this one must be related to the manager or owner. My husband and I both came in last night for 8 piece chicken, and as always it's a musty smelly place. I doubt they clean their exhaust fans well, if at all. The customers appeared as if they had been waiting for a while. Needless-to-say, I gave the man whom I had no idea at the time was the manager (more on that later) my coupon, and he took it and tossed it under the register, and left without ringing up my order. I waited and he later came back with a bucket, and I saw him put biscuits inside the bucket that normally gets the chicken. I asked him for two breasts, two thighs, and four legs. He asked me if wanted original, at first I had said yes, but then I said "crispy". He told me that I would have to wait 15 minutes for the chicken because they didn't have any available. Then another employee told him that there was some in the case, apparently this man helping me didn't know. I thought he was new. Then he puts the chicken in there and I have no idea how he had taken the biscuits out and put the chicken inside. After he had everything in a bag he rung it up. As we walked outside, my husband mentioned that he believed we had got our order before another man who had been waiting for his bucket. I believe that we had received his. Anyhow, when we got home the chicken appeared burnt and it wasn't the crispy recipe.We also had 5 legs and only one thigh. The potatoes that I had received were old and it appeared like it had a thick layer of dried crust along the edges. I would guess that the potatoes hadn't been stirred for a while. I drove back, unhappily and ready to complain. When I asked for the manager, guess who approached the counter? He didn't apologize for the inconvenience, but merely said, "You wanted crispy?" and I said "Yes, I was ready to wait for it, if it had only taken 15 minutes to cook." Anyhow, he tossed the bucket I brought back and quickly filled a new bucket, and handed it to me and walked away. I asked him to come back to the counter because I wanted to say something. I asked him if he had heard about Yelp, and he had told me no. I can't imagine how any business functions without knowing about Yelp. Anyhow, I told him that I would leave a review here and call their corporate office. He simply shrugged his shoulders like he didn't care. You see it's a wonderful thing when places want to ignore reviews such as Yelp and or believe they will be okay with lousy service because most people don't write or complain anymore, but it's the wonderful place such as Yelp and the few people on here who care to voice their experience so that others don't waste their time in places with lousy and careless service. read more

Lee's Summit Mo location Is horrible. Should be closed. I wish i had checked yelp before going. Went at 8pm got home and chicken was old and rubbery. Had been sitting in the warmer for hours. Too far to drive back. Called and Gavin was cool. Said he would replace it. Went back in the next day took chicken in a gallon baggie and so he could see the darkness of the bones and how rubbery the chicken was. He refused to refund it. They are serving old chicken. This particular day I put in my order at the speaker box and was told there would be a 12min wait on chicken...ok, that's fine we'll wait. I pulled to the window, paid, & got my lemonade. I asked the guy (not the mgr) if I could get a large water with my order (mind you this was middle of hot Summer, and I just needed hydration to avoid overheating in the hot sun or any other health concerns due to heat). He said sure no problem and next thing I know the manager comes to the window to override his response! I was told I would have to pay full price for a large cup of filtered water out of the fountain machine! I asked if the water could be complimentary since I had to wait in the heat for the chicken...he insisted I pay for the water! I cancelled my order and never returned! My son begs to go back and says things like, "maybe the rude guy doesn't work there anymore!" Would give zero stars if I could ... arrived just before 7 PM .. asked how late the buffet was open. Told until 8. Sounded great! Paid $9.16 ... was told they would give me chicken out of the oven because it was fresher. Well when I got to the buffet ... NONE of it was fresher! I ended up with two legs, a few pieces of breaded okra (that was obviously hours old), and a small spoon of corn that was in the juicy spot of the pan. We just went to the KFC in Lee's Summit. It was the filthiest restaurant I have ever seen! Every table was dirty. The floor, drink area, and buffet were all dirty. The shift manager could only make excuses, and at one point, the employees in the grill area sounded like they were arguing. The service was slow and the food was not fresh. He called them and they told him they would not refund his money with out his receipt. He told them their drawer should show 50 dollars over. Still no refund. There should be a MINUS 5stars. This KFC is horrible. But, being the only chicken place in town, the husband wanted chicken. The last time we got chicken from this place we were shorted one if our sides and ALL EIGHT biscuits. I'm thinking, it's the start of a pandemic people are having trouble.... cut them some slack. We spend over $50.00 to get everyone's favorite sides. So when we were also shorted the sides I was upset. But didn't bother with it because it was my favorite side. Fast forward 6 months. Ordered the 16 piece meal. Picked the four sides and added an extra side. Even mentioned the 8 biscuits that we were shorted last time. Again over 50.00, but planned on having left overs. Start unloading the sacks, and you guessed it stuff was missing. Again, NO biscuits. One SIDE missing, and NO GRAVY for the mashed potatoes. This prompted me to actually count the pieces of chicken and you guessed it we were shorted on the chicken too. When I called the person in the phone knew right away they hadn't put everything in our order. She blamed it in the "kids" working. But even First graders can count to 16, do....not sure how she figured that as an excuse. She offered to LET me come get the rest of my order. But being across town it wasn't an option. She then took my name and said "maybe" they would give me a free meal the next time I ordered. "It's best to come in to make sure you get your order correct." This location should really train their employees on customer service. I've visited this location a handful of times and every time I experience the rudest employees working the drive thru. Again today at 3:44pm the young lady working the drive thru was absolutely awful, I sat in the line for 5 min waiting for her to acknowledge me and she never did. I had to place my order at the window. When I asked her if the speaker box was broke and she caught an attitude with me... saying "No, I said hold on". Absolutely no common courtesy at all. When I told her well I didn't hearing you say that in the 5 mins I was waiting, she just stared at me like you didn't understand the words coming out of my mouth. The whole time I was waiting the 5 cars behind me, drove off or went next door. As a franchise, individuals like her, who are extremely unpleasant and run customers off shouldn't be there.
