What the hell is going on here, man. Stopped on a road trip to get a meal, nobody said anything in the drive thru. We go "Hello?" and only then are we answered with "Yeah, what do you want." They didn't give us a total just said "pull around." I got my meal with no straw for my drink, no napkins in the bag, and the Mac and cheese was so dry and burnt that it was literally inedible. The location has major management issues. I have given them a few tries and no more. They keep failing. One trip they were out of chicken. One trip they just did not have any cooked or cooking so it would be 15 minutes to get original chicken. Today, the lobby doors were locked at 12:30 on a Friday. The employee opened the door and said use the drive thru, I am mopping the floors now. I called and asked for the manager, lady said she was the manger, I explained that the employee had the lobby doors locked at lunch time. Lobby was closed but I didn't know because there was no sign on the door. I went in. They asked "how did you get in" I said "the door". They guy got all mad at me and made it seem like it was my fault for walking into an unlocked front door while the store was obviously open. This location is notorious for terrible service and food quality. The concept of returning in six months to see if management has fixed the problems is futile. Worst customer service. Cashier charges us extra money for a KFC Foundation and large drinks without asking us. When asking for a receipt, he would continually talk back telling us to wait a minute when all we did was ask for a receipt. He can't even count to give us the correct change. This place is the worst. I've placed 3 different mobile orders and each time they weren't ready, apparently trying to pre-order for your lunch break is not happening here. I've gone inside to pick up and literally NO ONE acknowledges that you are there. No eye contact not even I'll be with you shortly. The inside is filthy and everything feels sticky. They have a mobile order pick up shelf on the counter but nothing is ever there. The food that they serve is usually fine, but they are too often short of grilled chicken and hot wings. The drive through is also too frequently unavailable for one reason or another. The staff has a high degree of turnover, even for fast food places. And right now at least they need to better understand that customers expect a certain degree of professionalism and courtesy behind the counter. I will come back only because I enjoy KFC chicken and this is the most convenient place to get it. This is truly the worst kFC on the planet. Went there three times this month and every time the order was messed up. Maybe this store needs some leadership to teach workers not to be rude and and know what pieces go in a 2 piece white meal vs a two piece dark meal and to be able to tell the difference between those pieces. In April at 8:00pm I went there to purchase the 16 piece meal with 4 sides. I requested 9 breasts and 7 thighs. I know that I would have to pay extra. I even wanted to pay extra. The cashier and the manager REFUSED my order. . The manager stated that she wanted to share the rest with other customers. I was willing to wait while hey cooked more. I was told that I would have to come back tomorrow because it was a "special request". As a paying customer, I was appalled that they would NOT serve me. I was told to call ahead. Ordered a large bucket meal and specified original recipe because no one in my family likes extra crispy. When I got home the bucket was filled with all extra crispy pieces. I'm not sure why we go back, maybe it's for the crazy stories like them running out of chicken. Seriously, how does KFC continually run out of or not have chicken. But it happens here more times than not. Don't be surprised if they don't have items on their menu like extra crispy chicken. Today's story starts with me waiting at the counter for several minutes without seeing one employee. Another customer was waiting on wedges. I finally ordered my food and wait, and wait. After about 10 mins I heard some arguing in the back, something about "I'm the manager and you are the employee and you need to respect me". The employee came out of the back area and started getting my order ready when she said "I can't take this" and dropped what she was doing and left the restaurant. After several more minutes another employee came out and told the lady standing next to me that she could have a lemon cake. She put the cake in a the bag with her other food and handed the bag of food to her. The lady asked about her wedges that she'd been waiting for, for about 20 minutes and the employee said I gave you a lemon cake, not sure what happened to the wedges. The employee turned and walked away from the counter to work on my order. The customer turned and left highly confused. The same employee started working on my order which included wedges. The employee looked at me and with out prompting, I said cancel the wedges and give me mashed potatoes instead. Always horrible service and mediocre food, but always entertaining. I never had an issue with KFC until yesterday. I got the $20 fill up and the sides were fine but the chicken was over cooked. I called and spoke to the same guy that took the order. He said the fryer had a timer and the chicken could not be over cooked. I told him that it was and dry. He said I could bring the chicken back but I would get the same chicken since it was all cooked together. I told him that I don't want over cooked chicken and that I was not able to come back over there today. He said hold on to the chicken and bring it back. This is after he wouldn't give any plates due to COVID-19. But he wants me to bring old chicken back in to the store. He was a complete idiot and rude. I will not be returning to the Mechanicsville KFC that is across from Lee Davis High School again. The corporate office was notified and I will be sharing my horrible experience with all my friends and family. Not a happy ex customer. This place is the worst place ever. Please check your food before leaving. I went through the drive through and was told they didn't have any chicken ready, it would take 25 minutes to cook, I waited 45 minutes then asked the person at the drive through was my order ready and she told me I had to wait for them to bag my food which took an additional 10 minutes. Once my food was brought to me, I checked the bag and there was no biscuits with my $20 fill-up. I went inside to let them know I was missing my biscuits and they said no biscuits we gave you 4 cookies instead. I was upset at the service but even more upset that the manager didn't think anything was wrong with that behavior. I don't know who the owner is but they should invest in their employees and make sure they have proper training to deal with public and know how to speak. You would think that KFC would be happy that people are doing business with them and tryping to support them during the pandemic but it was certainly evident that the workers didn't value their job or the people that was supporting KFC. You got young well mannered africian Americans looking for jobs that would be an asset to KFC. Why not invest in your employees and stop asking customers to complete a survey if you are not going to make changes. You only SELL CHICKEN, what's the problem, your worker be dragging their feet like they have a hangover. Invest in your employees and make them accountable. Came for hot qings, which usually take awhile anyway to get them fresh. So, I have thier number and usually call ahead to reduce the eight minute wait. This time however, no one answered the phone. When I got there they were slammed busy, which they can't control, but they only had one girl on the register, and she was new, and had to stop every five minutes or so and ask someone something. She didn't know how to take a coupon from the guy ahead of me. She didn't know why my credit card receipt required a signature (it was over 25$). I think these are basic and key skills for your register operator. I also believe people will never learn if you don't teach them, but during a rush is no time to learn. At 503pm, they were out of extra crispy breasts, sweet tea and the new FLG Sauce. The tenders were old and dry. The cookie was so hard I couldn't bite into it. I tapped the cookie on the table to test its strength and durability. Surprisingly enough, it stayed in one piece.
