DO NOT EVER GO HERE!!!!!!! Every time I go through the drive-thru, I am asked to wait. It happened today and there wasn't a soul in line but me and there was only one car in the parking lot. I sat there for more than 5 minutes and then decided to go somewhere else. The service has ALWAYS been awful!!! I've known several individuals that have worked there and there is so much DRAMA going on that its a wonder any work gets down. This is the worst place in Mechanicsville! And that's a a shame because it is located close to me. read more

Hubbo's chicken sandwhich came up piping hot but everything else was room temperature at best. My guess is that they had to make his fresh and made the rest too quickly. Everything was still good. Friendly staff. Clean store. read more

I went to Zaxbys today, one of the worst experiences I've had. Ordered loaded fries, was about 15 fries in the box, also ordered vegetable egg rolls. They were burnt and didn't get any sauce. They forgot part of my order, they were cussing behind the line and not focusing on customers, my friend waited 15 minutes for fries. The cook was drinking a cup and not cleaning his hands before operating the grill which is a health code violation. This place used to be fantastic. Now no one can do their job right. read more

They mess up my order every time and the employees are rude. The coke tastes like root beer, I do not recommend coming there.

I have written a bad review previously on Google on this establishment and their inability to do something as simple a put seasoning on their "seasoned fries". Was dumb enough to go back again and still having this issue. The real kicker is I always ask for extra seasoning and did the same this time too. They also neglected to put our sauces in the bag. To top it off, while inside to correct my order, one associate from the front had to tell the kitchen staff multiple times to get me seasoning. At this point, I am convinced it's a leadership/ownership issue that allows a lazy culture in this establishment. read more

Not sure what's up with the bad reviews. I order from there all the time along with others I know. The chicken is great but I know many love the zalads especially when half price different times. I believe they are changing up the menu a little right now. I'd take these bad reviews with a grain of salt as I haven't had any issues since I started going there which I can't say at some other places in the area but that's a different story. read more

We typically avoid anything chainy or specializes in fried food but we were in a pinch and opted to order Zaxby's wings to go. The wings were saucier than we like but the fella on the phone had set the expectation that they don't have dry rub. That being said they were pretty good and the service was EXCELLENT. Well... I should start by saying I did not have any of the issues of previous posters with wait time or getting in and out. They were steady when we went in on a Sunday evening with a few people waiting. We had to flag someone down to take our order, as the person walked away when we walked in and didn't look like they wanted to come back to help us. So we had to ask them to take our order which they did, albeit grudgingly. We got our food to go and we live about 7 minutes down the road. That's certainly not too far to expect the food will still be hot when we get there but that was not the case. The fries tasted stale, like they'd been sitting for 10-15 minutes before they were served to us. The Texas toast tasted stale, like it had been sitting around for quite a while. The chicken tenders were better than the rest but still pretty bland. My husband got wings and he said they were just fair to ok. Overall, I would not recommend coming here and I do not plan to return. read more

Tried out Zaxby's for the first time in almost 9 years! Holy cow! Best chicken tenders money can buy! Someone give me the recipe!! Staff is extremely friendly. Met the owner Jon and he talked to us about how much he loves Zaxby's! Great guy. We will certainly be back. They have way more healthy options and the Zaxby's sauce is to die for!!! Coolest thing about this place is that's it's brand new! It's super fancy on the inside. Won't find a restaurant this nice inside at the competition! read more

We just waited 45 minutes for our food ate this location and they were moderately busy at 12:45 PM on Labor Day. There were probably 10 customers waiting for the same amount of time as us. Nobody seemed to know what they were doing. It was mass hysteria and was straight out of a Stephen King novel. RUN away from this location!!! read more

NOOO! Why Zaxby's on midlo tnpk.. So much excitement. So much hope.. One of my best friends lives in Roanoke and I always look forward to visiting him cause he lives right next to a Zaxby's which means I get to eat your food for once. When I heard there was one opening up not even 15 minutes from where I lived, I was Ecstatic. But you couldn't even get the fries right... *sadness* That left no hope for the chicken tenders. When I eat fries, I expect at least a mild crunch. Chicken tenders should always be just as or more crispy than fries.. To my dismay, they were so limp and incredibly disappointing. Chicken is the main advertisement of your business. How could you get it so wrong. Breading was barely hanging on to the chicken. Absolutely no crispiness. I hyped my family 100x more than I should have. Felt so bad and wasted $50.. Come on. Popeye's is right across the street. Not the biggest fan of their chicken but at least they have crunch. Ordered online and put 745 pm as the pickup time. My daughter arrived at this location at exactly 745 and was told the order wasn't ready yet. 30 minutes later the manager came out with the food after my daughter called a second time. Apparently whoever answered the phone the first time didn't tell anyone she was there to pickup the order. The only reason I am giving two stars is because an employee named Vincent really tried to make it right for us. This location is notorious for slow service but this is ridiculous. read more

Pretty much every time I've tried this location something has gone wrong. Today took the cake and I will never return. I arrived a couple minutes early for my pickup time. (Side note; the restaurant has never reopened for dining but for pick up the only option is to go inside to get your food?! No curbside pickup option?!) After waiting and waiting I was given an order. So glad I checked bc it wasn't mine. An associate said "Oh that must've been for a different Emily. Yours hasn't come through yet". This was past my pick up time and made no sense. Finally after waiting longer (back in my car at this point) I decided to check for my confirmation online again and it was nowhere to be found. After checking my bank account I see the charge has been refunded. No info/explanation from Zaxby's. I had to go through the drive-thru once to ask about my cancelled order and then back around AGAIN to order bc I guess you have to talk through the speaker or the order doesn't count? My order looked right but finally when I got home I discovered they gave me the same flavor of wings for both sets despite me ordering two different flavors and the receipt confirming what I'd asked for. There was only one other person in the drive-thru ahead of me and like 10 people working. I will never understand how all this went wrong nor will I get how I didn't take hint after hint to cut my losses earlier and go somewhere else. The food is fine but in no way worth this nonsense. The coupons for "5 free boneless wings with the purchase of 5" was confusing. I ordered the 5 boneless wings meal and told the "girl" I had a coupon for 5 free boneless wings. She asked what sauce and gave me the price. When I drove around to the window she handed me the wrong drink and then reached for it and took it out of my hand (huh I thought they couldn't take food back) !!! MY order after the coupon discount was more than I expected, so the cashier said it didn't apply to the 5 finger meal. Why didn't she tell me this when I ordered. the wings were cold as well as dry . How disappointing for sooo many wings with cold fries!! I told my grandchildren we need to give Zaxby's a rest for a few months because this is becoming a habit with cold fries, forgetting to put the sauce on, two chicken fingers on the sandwich instead of the usual three, I've had it!!! Was so excited when Zaxby's came to Mechanicsville. However, at least on several occasions going through the drive through, I was disappointed. Once, I asked for a half sweet/unsweet tea and when I got home, I discovered they gave me a coke. Other times, they have either forgotten something in the order or have gotten it all wrong. My advice,to the owner of this new restaurant is to stress ATTENTION TO DETAIL. I understand the drive through is busy, but it only takes a minute to double check the order against what you are putting in the bag. read more

zaxby's (of mechanicsville). the good: 1. the chicken was tasty. 2. the spicy mushrooms were tasty. 3. the inside looked nice and clean. the bad: 1. the onion rings were cold. 2. the wait to receive our order was at least 20 minutes. 3. my wife needed to repeat our order to the cashier several times. 4. the onion rings and the mushrooms were saturated with grease. *(i wish i had taken pictures). 5. the ice tea was not good. the ugly 1. the parking lot has a very poor design because the drive through line easily blocks other cars from getting in or out. it was like a canister of sardines and we were blocked in for a while ourselves. 2. the interior was also poorly designed like walking into a match box because it is so small the seating runs out in no time flat which it did while we were there and crowds of people were surrounding the order area because people were faced with long waits to get their food. read more
