It is hit or miss here with the freshness of the food and the service, but I keep going back out of convenience. When I have a problem with the food, I let management know ASAP. I do not wait around. Sometimes they give an attitude & sometimes they don't. It really depends on what manager is on duty. The female manager with the glasses is the rudest. If I see her before going through the drive thru (she is always outside on her cell), I just keep driving to the Chick-til-A or Capt. I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the treatment my daughter received during her attempt to interview for a position at the KFC on Monticello Avenue in Norfolk. My daughter responded to a job advertisement and was scheduled for an interview on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. We arrived approximately 15 minutes early, and she entered the restaurant a few minutes before her scheduled interview time. At that point, the manager, Rena, informed her that interviews were not being conducted on Sundays and instructed her to return the following day after 2:30 p.m. My daughter then showed the manager both the email and text message confirmations she had received regarding the interview, including a reminder message sent approximately one hour before the scheduled appointment. Despite presenting this documentation, she was dismissed and simply told, "I told you to come back after 2:30 tomorrow." Following those instructions, my daughter returned on Monday, June 1, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m., which is clearly after the specified time of 2:30 p.m. She reminded the manager that she had been there the previous day for her scheduled interview. The manager responded by saying, "I told you after 2:30." When my daughter explained that it was now 5:30 p.m., she was then told that the hiring process had already been completed. This experience was both frustrating and unprofessional. Businesses frequently express concerns about staffing shortages and difficulty finding reliable employees. However, potential applicants should be treated with courtesy, respect, and professionalism. My daughter is an honor student, a dedicated worker, and took the initiative to apply, schedule an interview, arrive early, and follow the instructions she was given. Unfortunately, she was not afforded the same level of professionalism in return. I hope this matter is reviewed so that future applicants are treated with greater respect and consideration. read more

The location on Monticello has terrible service. My co-workers and I placed a lunch order online for pickup at 10:00AM but when we arrived at the store at 10:20AM nobody answered the drive-thru or answered the door. We even watched FedEx try to make a delivery to the store, but nobody answered the door, so they left a "Sorry We Missed You" tag on the door. We tried to call the store, no answer. Tried to call the 1-800 number, no answer. Used the chat service, but whomever was replying back had no helpful answers and came off rude. They make it EXTREMELY difficult to get a refund because they put you into a case file. So, then we asked if we could just transfer our order to a different store but can't do that either! Another co-worker decided to try to call another store to see if they could help. We found out that the manager of that store was also the manager for Monticello and didn't know that the store wasn't open yet. She told us to give her a few minutes, and she'll contact us about our order if we cancel the refund case. She finally called back and said that they are open now and that we can get our food. When we got there, they didn't have large cups, mashed potatoes, no coleslaw, and no dark meat, on top of that there was barely any chicken in the potpie, and I didn't get my KFC bowl. So now I need a refund for the bowl. WHY IS PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE SO RARE THESE DAYS???? read more

Thiscwas my second time doing an online order to KFC and having a issu. First tie we ordered original chicken it looked so bad like it was hardly cooke. the skin was sliding off the meat and greasy. So now the second time meaning today we got crispy and it was greasy, oil, dark dark brown and tasted the same as describe. It left a greasy filmy taste in you mouth after swallowing. I went to KFC yesterday to get dinner for my fiance & I, it was the worst KFC I've ever been to. I get to the window & was told "go head" I tell her I want the 8piece bucket. You could ask for chicken or tenders, & get 2 sides. She said "you said chicken?" I said yes. She said "anything else" & I said yeah my 2 sides??? I tell her what I want & she said the total.. no drive around, no anything. I get to the window she just holds her hand out. & when she handed me my food it almost fell on the ground because she didn't even lean out the window to hand it to me correctly. HORRIBLE service. The food was very tasty and fresh. The service was print and on time, however the drink machine was surrounded by nets... Told the cashier and he laughed it off as for the manager but they never came to the table . We had a spill and it was never clean during our time while dining. Drive through was quick, food is ok... main thing for 2 stars is that I went through the drive through and didn't get ANY napkins or fork.... luckily I stopped to check my order... This is the worst KFC I have ever visited. After reading reviews of other customers, I at least feel like it isn't just me. The staff is unprofessional and the food is below any standard of acceptable. This appears to be a trend with the KFC restaurants in this area. With the opening of Chik-fil-a just 2 blocks away, I would hope that things will improve. The fam decided on KFC for dinner the other night. Last minute decision. I went through the drive-thru at about 8:30 p.m. Nobody was in front of me. I waited patiently, yet nobody came over the intercom. I checked the times they were open-yep, open until ten p.m.! After waiting for several minutes, I decided to pull up to the window, in case the speaker wasn't working. So I waited at the window. I could see three employees wandering around. Somebody was sweeping the floor and somebody was gathering an order. There were two customers waiting by the counter. Still, nobody helped me. The employee gathering the order put it in a bag, LOOKED AT ME, and took the food to one of the waiting customers. I thought, surely she will acknowledge me as soon as she has a second. Nope. I waited another two to three minutes and nobody even acknowledged we were there. At that point we left and went somewhere else. I'm not a huge fan of KFC to begin with, but when customer service is so lacking that it's literally nonexistent, forget it. I can spend my money elsewhere. read more

I'm a big fan of KFC whenever I do eat it. This particular location only receives 3 stars mainly because of its cleanliness and presentation. The people here seem to be less friendly than most other places, but the food is the same. The floors and tables are a bit grungy, but they're tolerable. Yes, they do have a drive thru. read more

I literally go to this KFC at least 5 times a week because my son loves their popcorn chicken. However, today will be my last. I just left this store and the customer service was horrible. I pull.into the drive way and there is one car in front of me who is just sitting there. She says they haven't taken my order yet and I been here 5 minutes. After another 2 minutes or so they finally take her order. I pull up... The recording comes on and then a polite young lady says just a moment.....okay.....10 minutes go by....nothing. By this time several cars have pulled off behind me! So I kindly pull my car around and go inside. Finally some service...I made a point to mention that I had been waiting in the drive through for 10 plus minutes it would have been good customer service to comeback with and update. From then the manager who refused to give her name took the situation to an entirely different level. She was very rude, had a HORRIBLE attitude and was condescending. She explained that they only had one fryer. I told her that the fryer had nothing to do with the customer service. She kept saying we have a recording. I tried to explain to her that I heard the recording and an employee even asked me to hold, but after 10 minutes of silence somebody should have said something. She disagreed and told me that she didn't have to take my order. I told her that my order was already taken. The manager told the cashier to give me my money back and I could leave. I informed her that they were not the only KFC in town and gladly left that store....NEVER will I eat here again! Always look forward to KFC, quality is never TOO much of an issue but this is consistently the slowest location. I've had my car in park for 15 minutes. With 2 cars still in front of me.
