Since sheltering in place, we've been mostly cooking at home and allowing ourselves to order takeout once or twice a week. What a waste to have decided on getting KFC this week. Like another reviewer had mentioned, KFC has been blitzing the crap out on social media and a little nostalgia kicked in as I had not had it in over a decade. How regretful. Firstly, the chicken pieces were tiny as hell and lacked any flavor. The Colonel has been skimping out those 11 herbs and spices. My wife looked at her chicken and said, "hey, this must be yours because I ordered extra crispy" and I'm like, "nope, that limpy ass thing is yours. You don't even want to know what my original recipe be lookin like". This meal left me sad and mad. I had fond memories of their chicken and now I can't imagine ever going back. If I'm ever jonesing for fried chicken, will try Popeyes, hope those guys don't let me down. One star is for easy online ordering and pick up process. read more

went to get a 9-piece bucket...at the drive-thru and ordered 9-pieces of the drumstick and thighs extra crispy...was told that they didn't have any...was about to drive off, but was told they did have it...went to the window to get the bucket and pay....drove home and found a bucket of soggy soft greasy chicken...nothing was crispy or crunchy....had to stick in the oven to get some crisp back.. read more

I went today 17 October with my daughter and we weren't sure what we wanted. I told the guy and he was very friendly about it. He came back again and I told him we were still looking but there was no one in line behind us. His Supervisor then came on with a a very thick accent, but what I did understand was her saying, "we have a Lobby if you're not sure what want". I had even told her there was absolutely no one behind us before she even said that. I gave her the order and I asked the friendly guy at the window what is name was. He said Brian. I told him he was very nice and friendly but his supervisor was very rude. He seemed to try to avoid the topic. I can't blame him because he probably thought he would get in trouble. I think that is awful service since you don't come to a drive through to go into the restaurant. That's the whole idea of the drive through. Jimenaa, one of the manager's, was the one I was dealing with at the drive thru. When i was putting in my order, she was so rude and kept talking over me and was not listening to what I was saying. I was giving her the name of a combo meal to order that is on the menu online, and she was saying there's no such order. So after going back and forth we finally figured out a meal similar. Than I pulled up to the drive thru window, she takes my card, charges it, gives it back to me, than tell me she wants me to back my car up. When I asked why, she rudely said, "your buzzing in my ear on my headset!" I have never had a drive thru employee tell me about a buzzing in there ear because my car is to close at any drive thru I've ever been to. She made me back up about 20 feet for about a 1 minute and than rudely told me to pull up. I than checked my order right at the window to make sure everything was there, because I had no trust in her at this point. She rudely stared at me as I did this. I got home and opened up the food and saw she put no gravy on the famous bowl that i had ordered. It was so dry and bland. I will say the KFC in San Jose picked up the slack for Jimenna that she was lacking. I went to the KFC in San Jose the next day, explained I ordered the famous bowl from another KFC and was given no gravy. The KFC in San Jose kindly went and got me a courtsey small side of gravy so I could eat my meal like it should have been originally, which I really appreciated. Before the other day, it had been awhile since i have been to this KFC in Redwood City, but in the past they always had decent customer service. OMG. If you want consistency, this is where you go. They consistently FAIL. If I can put 0 stars, I will. I have been trying to support local businesses during this time especially, but 3 out of 5 times, my order is missing something. They tie the plastic up so tight, there is no way to check so you assume things are correct as there are other cars in line waiting. Today, we got chicken, fries, mac and cheese and biscuits. The mac and cheese is MIA. The 2 containers of fries tasted way different from each other..the other one is stale. Hard, cold and chewy. The other one is perfectly fine, warm and crispy. Such a waste of time and money. Quality and service is not a priority for this branch. Save your money and go somewhere else. Anywhere else. You will be happier. read more

This place has improved since it received a face lift. The staff has changed and they are on top of their game. The service is like night and day compared to what this place used to be. The food has also improved and I look forward to coming here more often. read more

I was disappointed when I picked up my last order because the soda was missing, coleslaw was missing, there was no breast meat in the bucket, the chicken was cold and soggy. The previous time I ordered through yelp's app/ grub hub the order was ready in a short amount of time and fresh. DON'T EAT HERE!!!! ZERO STARTS This is by far the worst KFC I have ever tried! The worst customer service, very rude. After missing some pieces of chicken (my mom counted in the car before we leave the restaurant) my mom went back and very courteous asked for the missing pieces and the lady in the counter said; How am I supposed to know that you're missing chicken?! The delivery was on time but the food needed to be heated up as does all other delivery food service. The food we did get was good. When received the bag was sealed like a "seal a meal" but was still missing a few items such as the biscuits, honey sauce and the hot sauce. All in all I would still order again but sit outside and wait for my order to check it. read more

I pull up to the drive through and there was a sign on the speaker, closing early today with no time, this was at 7:30pm. Person some on and says sorry we're closed, instead of directing me to the one on Woodside Road, which I forgot about, I said you know you are making customers go to Popeyes. Driving by I can see workers in there. Unless it's an emergency, you shouldn't close early and by still seeing workers there, it wasn't. read more

Where do I start.... Place is awful, came here a few days ago and their was a man in the kitchen with no gloves and street clothes just walking around the kitchen area but it gets better... Not to mention I waited at the drive thru speaker for five minutes, asked where they were at 3 times and no response, as I was about to drive off..finally got a response. Got to the window and the girl working the register didn't say hello, instead the man in street clothes(when I mean street clothes, he could have been going for a drink at the local dive bar and wouldn't look out of of place) he proceeded to pour my soda...put my cap on and hand me it... in street clothes.... I proceeded to hand it back and ask where the woman was that took my order... he said "she is in the back making your food, I'm working in today because someone called in sick"....okay so where is your uniform? Why don't you have a uniform? What kind of establishment is this? At this point I should have drove off... Anyways, the woman came back, handed me my soda, handed me my change, handed me my food and shut the window on me without saying a single word to me The food? Don't waste your time if you want to eat what you actually paid for and not get shorted. Just when I thought they had it together, they mess up my order easily for the 5th time. I let it slide and trusted that they finally were able to handle the responsibility of making the correct order after a few times of them doing well. In the past I've gotten wrong sides, no sides when I should have gotten them, no cookie when it came with one, no sauce when asked for it, no utensils when I specified. Today while on my lunch break during a busy day at work I wanted to enjoy Nashville hot chicken tenders which come with fries. I specified and repeated my order maybe 3 times. I also asked for sauce twice in the drive though. When I get back to finally enjoy my meal, I open the bag to find 4 regular soggy tenders with NO fries and no sauce. I would like to give these guys a chance but they continue to mess up my simple order and disappoint. I can understand if this happened a couple of times but this seems like a reoccurrence to me. I probably would rather choose another kfc that gets my order right, even if it takes 5 times longer, than to get this quick but have the order completely wrong. I'm pretty fed up quite frankly. To me it seems as though the owner doesn't really care to invest in training their employees at all. It's almost like they are INTENTIONALLY getting my order wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong but we all deserve exactly what we pay/ask for and this type of negligent "service" is completely unacceptable. This place is absolutely terrible. So I pulled up to the drive-through window at 12:48 there was nobody in line and no cars in the parking lot. After waiting 5 1/2 minutes I finally drove up to the drive-through window because I still had not even had my order taken. The guy repeatedly said hold on a minute hold on a minute while I was at the order kiosk. When I drive up to the talk out window the store was empty and he was playing a game on his phone. Straight trash, I've held off on a review because it was always going to be negative, but I've lived nearly walking distance to this KFC for over 10 years, once a year I try to stop by to give them another shot, and it's always a negative action. I've gone there before closing and they've turned the drive thru off. They routinely run out of food, everything is wait 22 minutes, "we're out of wings you have to wait 22 minutes", "we're out of pot pies you have to wait 22 minutes", but we all know this is an effort to run you off so they don't actually have to do anything. And mind you the quality drive thru service is a reflection of the quality of food in general, garbage. This place is the worst in fast food, you're better off driving to Woodside to the other KFC, and if you're already down that far then go a little further and stop at Popeyes. Everything we ordered was stale. Makes me think they're just leaving things out, slacking off until there's customers, and not making things fresh. Also when the guy brought out our food the oil from the spicy famous bowl was spilling into the bag so he just gave us another bag. Just had the worst experience at this KFC. Once home with our take out food noticed the chicken breast had odd white markings within the meat. Not fat, not anything I've ever seen before. Drove back to the restaurant and spoke with the manager. She was reluctant to admit that was anything wrong with the food. This is when the customer service goes completely bad. To start with I wasn't given a receipt and after asking for one, now it was a hassle. I asked for a refund on one of the two meals that we purchased multiple times before rudely refunded. I can't understand why an employee of this franchise would want to be so abrasive about dealing with bad food, it's not their fault, it's the responsibility of their employer or owner. I called ahead of time and told them that I was coming back due to bad food then dealt with the manager in person ever so rudely. I will never patronize this establishment again. I was craving some good ol' fried chicken, so picked up a box of 8 piece chicken only (~$18) at the drive-thru here. The chicken came out quick and we were back home before long munching on them. We got half extra crispy and half original, yet they both tasted the same. I can't complain though since the chicken is very moist and flavored on the inside with a nicely crisp and roasted layer of skin holding all the goodness together. Although the chicken here is yummy, it's pretty darn expensive for a chain fast-food restaurant. Yep, it's open until 10, so I pulled up to the window. A different employee on his phone, looked at me then walked away. He looked into the dining area, then walked to the back. I backed up the car to the Order area and called out to ask if they were open. Hold on a minute! Finally they asked what I wanted. Our orders were only partially filled even though I paid for the full price for two orders of the 3 piece meal with coleslaw, fries (instead of the mashed potatoes) biscuits and a soda. Of the two meals ordered neither came with coleslaw. Pieces of the chicken were hard and caked with some black bits. It looked like something I had left in my refrigerator over night. The whole meal was luke-warm as if it had been sitting for an hour in the bag even though I was a drive up order. The drinks were filled half way with ice so there was little soda to wash down this monstrosity of a meal. The meal was not completely consumed even though we were quite hungry. Right now my stomach is feeling quite queasy. If you still decide to go even after reading this review then I would advise that you check your order before you leave and be prepared to have to heat your food up. Also double check the chicken to make sure it is fresh and not old chicken from the night before. When ordering the drinks be sure to tell them "not too much ice". read more

This is probably the absolute worst KFC location I have ever seen. The store is dirty and In disrepair. The staff is lackluster in customer service and accuracy of order fulfillment. The 3 time in the last year I have gone through the drive through multiple items from my orders have been missing, entries or sides. Condiments / sauces / cutlery missing every time also.
