This is a really fantastic and undervalued local resource. All of the employees at this KFC really care about their jobs and they are always willing to go out of their way to do whatever it takes to meet your special needs. The Colonel's 11 herb and spice recipe brings back a lot of memories. We were on our to a family birthday and KFC was the birthday boy's request so we found a spot in North Salinas that was completely remodeled and setup for mobile ordering and delivery. One observation, there is plenty of parking but there is only one way to ingress/egress unless you want to roll thru the drive thru. We got a family meal and picked up a couple of chicken sammies (spicy, of course). It was a bit expensive like around $70 but we fed 8 folks with the famous sides of mashed potatoes, cole slaw and warm biscuits. I would def come back here. The service was friendly and speed was on point. Kids loved it and family shared a nice meal to celebrate a special occasion with some tasty chicken. read more

My family has been coming to this KFC since... FOREVER! I ended up ordering online since it was convenient and the deals were calling my name! Let me tell you this meal goes down in the history of histories. It was fresh! It was AMAZINGGGG! It was so good I had to call them and tell them know how delicious it was! I had ordered the tender+nugget family meal with mac and cheese, mash and gravy, lastly biscuits!! They were out of the oven hot! On top of that the 2 for $7 mikes hot honey sandwich, which you can redeem through the app. Well at least I was able to! Not only did I have to drive 45 minutes home, but it was still nice and hot! I've worked at a kfc back in 2016 this brings me back and definitely will continue to go back to this location. Not wanting to cook dinner on a Monday night, so I decided to go online and order some KFC. For some reason, my phone wasn't working, so I just went in. I ordered the double mash meal. It usually comes with all dark meat that I made sure to tell them. I said I would like thighs and legs only no white meat or wings. So my order was up. I get home went to set it out for dinner and I open the chicken and there was nothing but breast and wings .... Not only that did you know that they put the gravy on the mashed potatoes now. Anyways I called and talked to the manager. He told me please come in. I will make it right for you. I told him I wasn't going back out. He said just come in tomorrow and I will make your order right. I came in the next day extremely nice man totally took care of me. No questions asked extremely apologetic.! A few days ago my family ordered some chicken from this KFC location and when we got our order I was amazed at how fresh our chicken tasted and this is one KFC location that actually is one of the best KFC's in Salinas because they do an amazing job making sure your order is good. Colonel Sanders is spinning in his grave. I'm done with KFC after 50 years, and this place is why. The chicken was overcooked, tasteless, (actually very odd tasting), and ultra deep fried swimming in grease, and fried in semi-rancid oil. Instead of looking golden brown it was closer to dark red. My family was hungry, so we tried one piece of it each, but the rest went in the trash, and I'm still trying to get the taste out of my mouth and the smell out of the kitchen. Also, the "flaky fresh biscuits" were hard as a rock. They must have been frozen, because they sure weren't fresh. I didn't spend nearly $40 of my hard earned money for 12 pieces of nauseatingly ultra-greasy fried chicken that spent way too long in the deep fryer. I remember when KFC was excellent food consistently cooked the same way every time, with corn on the cob, and hot, fresh chicken and biscuits, served by people who respected the history of it and the product. If you can't make this product this way it's supposed to be made (and I guarantee you KFC Corporate has very specific guidelines about how their product is supposed to be cooked, served, and taste) then please get out of the chicken business. I guess these people don't want your business?! I went to KFC at 11:30 today. We walked in and we waited, and waited, and waited.... The guy who was working drive thru was busy. The manager or supervisor or who ever she pretended to be completely ignored us. Made eye contact and walked away. We waited 5 minutes and when she was near the chicken I politely said, hello? hellllloooo? The drive thru guy said sorry I will be right with you. I was shocked the manager ignored me!!! Our experience tonight was the opposite of "fast" food. Only 2 groups inside and it took 23 minutes to get our small order (yes, we counted... we had someplace to be and exactly 30 minutes to order and eat). The drive thru quickly got backed up sometime after we ordered and an angry (...and obnoxious ...and immature) customer repeatedly blasted their car horn in protest. The poor staff was trying to keep up with the drive thru and seems to have ignored the inside customers in an effort to clear out cars. I am following up on a review for this KFC on N. Main St., but I also wrote a review for the KFC on S. Main St. By 7:10 in the evening, S. Main Street ran out of original flavored chicken. and they said it was too late to make more. So my husband ran over to the KFC here on North Main St. He said the employees at this KFC were more amicable and willing to fill our order, He spoke briefly to one of the employees and they told them they were sooo busy due to the 49er game and the horrible weather. So my conclusion to their statement is that they were probably so busy due to filling orders for the S. Main St. restaurant because they were probably too lazy cook. It wasn't even near 10 o'clock closing time. I would understand if it was 9 o'clock in the evening. Thank you KFC on N. I used to eat here all the time before I moved out of town. It was always such a warm and inviting place to eat. Everything was always so clean inside and the staff were always so happy and friendly. I never had a bad meal here in 15 years of eating here. I used to love the Krispy chicken, so moist and crunchy. And I loved the mashed potatoes with gravy on the side. Better than on Thanksgiving. And I absolutely loved those chicken pot pies. So moist and juicy and filled with big chunks of chicken and vegetables, and that crispy crusty top to the pie was soo good. Just before 6pm & the dining room is empty. Floors are swept and every table was clean and orderly. The front three tables have checkered tableclioths giving it a nice "welcone" when you enter. Such a difference from my first review of this restaurant!!! The customer counter and soda station were clean and staff was right there to take our order. Food was good, fresh & hot. Ladies room looked liked it was just cleaned... nothing on floors, plenty of tp, seat covers, soap and the auto paper towels worked. Even the mirror is clean. Just as we are finishing at 6:30pm they get a "rush" but it looks like everyone is served promptly and happy. The building is old and could use a refresh on the inside but we wont hesitate to come back. I even enjoyed the music station (KWAVE)!! Kudos to management!! read more
