Not only do they give you cold food, incomplete orders, but also when you call to complain, they give you a lecture over the phone, they refuse to give you the managers or anybody's name, and after bitting your head off over the phone, they won't help you with the issue at hand. I believe this is the KFC Buffet on Gandy. I was going to give them 4-5 stars, however they kinda left a bad vibe with me. So my son, my mom and I went here yesterday and after I paid I couldn't remember the cashier handing me back my debit card. I asked the cashier if he handed my card back to me and he said yes. I should have really checked my purse instead of believing him, however I took his word on it. Later that night I went to the grocery store and low and behold I did not have my card. It was really irritating because 1 I asked if he handed my card back and he assured me he had, and 2 we sat there for about 30 mins in sight of the cashier eating and he never came over to hand me my card. Today my fiancé and I came to this location ready to eat their all you can eat buffet. We always go to the one in Lakeland but since this one was closer we decided to give it a try. Went here today and the girl working the window was very nice. My order came out within 4 or 5 minutes. We had chicken sandwiches, fries, and pot pie. The pot pie was really pretty good. The fries could have use another 2 to 3 minutes. But seems every fast food fries are that way. I bring the fries home and put them in the toaster oven and they come out perfect. If you go there for the buffet they always seem to be out of food and when you ask them to replenish the containers they act like they're doing you a big favor and they will get to them when they get a chance, if you go to the drive-thru at night twice I was told they were out of chicken I would have to wait another 12 minutes before they had any and once I was told they only had extra crispy the one thing that they always did seem to have was a bad attitude. read more

Was very disappointed with the whole operation. We did not come at an off time, so was not expecting old chicken. When I ordered the extra biscuits on top of what came with my meal, I also expected butter and honey that comes with them. Unfortunately did not find out about the missing condiments, or the old chicken until we got home 7 minutes later. At that point I looked for a receipt to call, and was not provided with one. I was also told to pull forward and they'd bring out the food. What are these employees being taught? To pull the car forward, so that their time per car looks better? Chicken was not cooked all the way, items were missing and what was edible was completely cold. I had no idea people could mess up fast food up this bad. This is by far the most ridiculously ran restaurant I have ever been to! I have never went here and been treated nicely by the staff. Almost every time, the person taking orders through the drive through says "Whatchu want" Ive worked in the food service industry for years now. This is not just a coaching experience, you need to hire people who actually care about your customers! They also never seem to have the full menu open, ever! Good value on the buffet and have never had a complaint about the chicken , it may be greasy to some but hey , this is fried chicken. If you want flavorless dry chicken go to McDonald's and have some McNuggets. Only issue I have had is going in after lunch rush is over , food on buffet is pretty much depleted , especially the chicken , but they will put out whatever you request. Service as it is , i.e. take order , ring out , is usually fine however yesterday they seemed a bit off , to the point of being rude , trying to get someone to take my $ so i could help myself to buffet. Was right after lunch rush and you could tell , all tables filthy , food almost gone , etc. But they were replenishing and cleaning as i sat there and ate. Btw , the interior of the restaurant is clearly designed like many are nowadays for you to want to finish your meal and leave as quickly as possible. Comfort and ambience will not be found at KFC. For a kfc this is pretty good. I'm rating it amongst it's peer group. The only reason for the 4 stars is the in inconstant service. 90% of the time the service and food is on par. 10% of the time the food is a little off, either too greasy or overly dry depending on the item. I've had an isolated incidence but overall service is impressive. read more

If this were my business I would fire everyone and start over with handpicked pro's. These dragging-your-feet, rude, unprofessional low life's care nothing about a customer, making the food palatable, or keeping the food supplied for the buffet. It's out of date and the home office should tear it down. The buffet has food that has hardened and stuck dry to the containers, they only put out dark meat instead of breast, they add so much salt it can't be eaten, the potatoes are runny, they have almost all high carb veggies (both of which diabetics, heart patients or elderly can NOT eat. You have to ask them to restock buffet items and they take too long to do it - and should be more aware 'themselves' to do it without having customer's constantly telling them to 'do their jobs'. Their biscuits are always too dry to swallow and they never, ever ask you if you want butter or honey - so they can make more money. They never put any napkins (what kind of chicken restaurant wouldn't make sure napkins were ALWAYS included?), and you have to make sure you tell them to include plastic ware in 'go' meals. And you never, ever know if the chicken will be undercooked or too greasy to chew. Whenever we've stopped by at this location we figured out that we have to drive around to the parking area, check our box's, taste the chicken to make sure it's cooked and grease isn't running out our mouth's and if all condiments were supplied. We've stayed away from this Gandy, FL location for years at a time and instead we go to Popeye's who always has fantastic, perfect chicken and their biscuits are so amazing (I eat them first). read more

I went inside the restaurant and after standing at the counter for five minutes asked the chap there if this was the usual amount and pointed out to him that each one of these small chunks of potato cost over thirty five cents each after adding the tax to the initial price. Ordered two buckets of chicken at 7:30 on a Friday night. The gentleman taking the orders was also the on staff manager by the name of Marquis. He appeared irritated that we ordered two large orders telling us that they were out and it would be a 20 minute wait. We paid and waited our 20 minutes as we watched him and two other employees bouncing a ball of the wall. When asked about our order he became defensive and told me I will have to wait...they just dropped the chicken...after a hour and a half our chicken was still not done...when asking Marquis for our money he had a attitude at times walking Away and not acknowledging Anything that I was saying...I told him I will call corporate and he said do it....so the next day I called the KFC to get a corporate # and the guy on the phone told me his name was Chris and he wanted to know what happened. If I could give this location zero stars, I definitely would. Took the family there the other night for the buffet. If the health department was there at the same time, they would have shut this place down! The buffet was horrible. Almost every item was empty and all the pans had just a small amount of food in them that appeared to have been there for HOURS. There were 4 pieces of chicken on the the buffet. No more was brought out the entire time we were there. There were no biscuits and no more were brought out. When we had to ask the employees at the counter for chicken and biscuits, they had an attitude like they were doing us a favor. They just gave us a piece of chicken and a biscuit each and still did not put any on the buffet even though there were several others in the dining room having the buffet. The salad section was a MESS. Everything was mixed together. Reached in the pan to pick up a butter packet and got a handful of coleslaw. They were completely covered. No plates and forks were stocked. Had to ask each time we needed one and they still didn't restock them. What is that??? what a nightmare. Will never go to this location again. It's worth the drive to Pinellas to the next closest KFC buffet.
