I had a disgusting customer experience here today. Placed my order thru the app at 5:06pm. 9 - 19 minute expected pick up time, but you can allegedly track the order thru the app. App marked order as ready at 5:30, already 6 mins beyond the 19 minute estimate. I go to the drive thru, as I had my 11 month old daughter with me and did not want to get out of the truck with her just to pick up the order that should already be ready. Not only did I not get my order at 5:33pm when I finally made it to the front window of the drive thru. I had to take my infant daughter out of the truck, after being told to pull forward and no one ever bringing my order outside. All in all I did not get my order until 5:40pm, and the manager thought that just his piss poor apology would suffice. Not an extra napkin, sauce, biscuit, or as much as a cup of water was offered. Piss poor service does not breed return business, and I assure you today will be the last time this location sees my money. If more people stop patronizing businesses that provide poor service maybe they'd get it together. read more

I stopped in for a quick lunch today with a coworker. I ordered a mashed potato bowl and a small side of cole slaw. Everything was prepared accurately and it tasted great. Even better than the food was the service the lady provided who took my order. She was super friendly and personable. I noticed while eating that she was very fun with all of the customers including the ones who only spoke spanish. It was evident that Spanish was by no means a fluent language of hers but she made the best of it and was sure to accommodate all of the guests. read more

FINALLY!! They finally got my order correct!! Like so many others we've had terrible experiences at the Upper Marlboro KFC. In complete orders, pieces of chicken that were unrecognizable parts, etc. We have learned through the past couple of years you must GO INSIDE. On 9/13/25 I had 6 Grands I had to feed. And we all love KFC, so I thought I'd give it another chance. Odd they had 5 cars in parking lot but only 1 customer. Sadly 2, yep, 2 employees at 12:50pm. As I attempted to place the order the young lady said the wait would be 16 minutes. I told her that would be fine, I'd wait. Hit pay dirt on this trip!! The order was a 16 pc meal w/4 sides & 8 biscuits. The wait turned out to be 24 minutes but with 2 employees, I couldn't complain. The food was hot and tasted fresh. Everything was just like it should be. The name on the receipt was Moises. Hopefully that's her name, because she did a fantastic job!! I'm sorry I missed the deadline to do a review on the KFC website. Management please work like this EVERY day! You have a prime location right off of Route 4 and the travelers on 301. That day, I had work travel from my office in Halethorpe to downtown Baltimore City to Calvert County! I remembered that I had a birthday root beer float free coupon good for the whole month of February at A&W restaurants. The one in Capitol Heights I knew closed; good riddance to them. I was pissed at them and gave them 2-stars on Yelp in 2015. The only one in the DC area was now in Upper Marlboro. I went in this shopping center where the KFC is looking for it. Then, I realized that it was the KFC. Originally, I was planning on eating lunch in Calvert County, but I had already stopped in this shopping center, and I was thinking that I might have KFC coupons in the car. I dug in the glovebox and saw a bunch of KFC coupons. I was also feeling depressed that day, thinking about the bleak relationship I had with my g/f, I got through that in March, but ultimately, initiated a break up with her anyway in April. So, I was fine with getting some good fried chicken 'comfort food'. I hadn't had fried chicken since summer 2017 because it's one of the extremely rare foods I would eat due to the extreme unhealthy value & trying to lose weight. The cashier was friendly. I would've gotten her phone #, but I had a g/f, but to date a chicken specialist would be a dream. Ok, I'm just kidding about the phone # sentence, but just to be funny. I gorged myself on the 2 piece meal with potato wedges & biscuit. The potato wedges are really good (They are a thicker, well-seasoned version of French fries). I guess I could've gone with a healthy side, but who are we kidding? I was at KFC and wanted the potato wedges, and their other sides are weak as I recall. The biscuit was pretty good. the 6 wings i ordered were terrible and big and not cooked hard. the french fries were cooked in the same fryers and grease as the chicken. the chicken tenders don't have a bit of flavor. The fries were too salty and soggy. The customer service was okay but the food was terrible. the dinning room tables are sticky along with the floor being dirty and unmopped! the restrooms are new but you can tell they dont get cleaned. Writing this review due to exceptional service by Melinda on this day 1/21/2018 at noon. She was extremely accommodating, professional, and courteous. She is and should be the gold standard for what customer service should look like. My sons and I ate in, she checked in on us several times to see if we needed anything else (ketchup, napkins, etc) and gave my boys their own Capri Suns as we all all sharing one large drink. Our entire stay Melinda kept moving here there and everywhere keeping busy and keeping everyone else on task. When we were just about done she came and cleaned the table and asked one last time was it anything else that we needed and said "have a great day". I DO NOT write reviews on fast food restaurants but I had to today as people like Melinda and her gold standard customer service should not go overlooked, unappreciated, or unrewarded. I've worked at this KFC for over a year and do I have something to say. The management is so poor that the employees are so over worked it's not funny. We're also very short staffed so if you're food is coming out late blame management not the packers, cooks or the cashiers. Agree with other reviewer - worst KFC ever. I have been seriously ill after eating here twice now . Both times I was ill within 15 minutes of leaving this not-so-fine establishment. Think about it - it's fried chicken -- from frozen to the deep fryer, how hard can that be? After the last time I vowed "never again!!" I have since tried KFC near work (I live dangerously) and near a friends. I've had no issues with either, thus it must be this location. Wasted $20 on chicken 2 weeks ago my whole family threw in the trash. If you could get past the "rock hard exterior," the coating tasted nothing like any KFC I had ever eaten in the US. When you got tired of that and peeled it off, both the White and Dark meat were dry, hard and tasted like it had been sat out in the sun for an hour and fried again. Employees there look dirty and unkempt, don't honor coupons and act like they are doing you a favor by selling you fresh food.
