The Kalbi was super flavorful and I loved the spicy daikon. Fortunately, I have gochujang at home and mixed it in with the other ingredients and it took it to the next level! I did an online order from this place. I took advantage of their buy one get one free Pork Belly bowl and then I bought an additional Spicy Chicken Bowl. I must have not clicked on the rice when I place my order because none of my bowls came with rice. A little disappointing, but the bowls were still delicious with a healthy filling. I ordered my pork belly bowl Inferno which is extra hot. It didn't taste that much spicier than the regular heat but still very tasty. While it's cool that they have the Impossible Kalbi as a vegetarian option, I can't believe this entrée costs $18. You get two Barbecue Plate sides, and it comes with Rice and Green Onion Salad. Honestly, when I looked back at the photo and the receipt showing the price, I feel like this is only worth about half that. Passed by here the other day and I was intrigued so stopped in. When I entered I saw they have a station where you can place your order on your own and then pick it up. I placed my order that way and when I was preparing to pay I found that they don't have a way for you to use digital wallets at that station; a credit card is required. The employee made some comment that suggested perhaps they were going to fix that so it can at some point take digital wallets but I don't know if he was just saying that or not. Anyway, that was kind of annoying, just make sure to bring your card if you decide to use that or you can order at the counter and you can use a digiwallet. The chicken was okay. I liked the soy ginger flavor though it wasn't very strong. I also got the kalbi one we could share and it was really good. I don't think I've ever had short rib before, but this is what I'd order if I visit again. It made me think, is this what Korean BBQ tastes like all the time (as opposed to this just being their seasoning/saucing)? If so I've been missing out on it for sure. The potstickers were ok. I think they would have been good if they were steamed but they are fried here and that's not my preference. I got one of their dessert things but it wasn't my bag. It tasted to me like circus peanuts, which is a candy I hate with a fiery passion. There was no one here when I stopped in but they have plenty of seating including a counter at the front of the restaurant. My friend came over after getting our order and I'm a little disappointed. I got the kalbi and dumplings and they taste great but my rice is so hard and crunchy. Like it's the burnt part of the rice at the bottom of the rice cooker you sometimes get at home. I'm kinda bummed about it honestly. Good Fast Food Korean ... Chipotle style. Might take 10min because the entree is freshly grilled, but you don't mind, its decent. Props to the two kids that came up with this concept, and plopped it in the trendy and gentrification-crazed Logan Square. There are some K franchises out here already but they're more fusion restaurants and in the NW burbs. Wouldn't fly for old school but its fine for the BTS crowd,.. legit. Lol. I know I enjoyed the ground Impossible oval burger doused with K BBQ sauce... I'll have to try and make this myself, it wasn't Kalbi, but it was tasty... We just tried this for dinner and it was pretty okay, I think maybe we missed something when ordering online because we didn't get any type of sauce so it was just plain rice and vegetables. The marinated mushrooms and kalbi were good but everything else was just kind of average. But it did taste healthy which is good! read more

I came back here with a girlfriend on a Friday night and the food was just as good as the first time we tried the place. Both times that we've visited, there were no problems finding street parking along Milwaukee Ave. The place inside was spacious, clean and the service was superb. My friend and I have tried the following items from the menu: KALBI- Very tender and flavorful pieces of meat PORK BELLY- Winner! SPICY GINGER BEEF- Great flavors K FIRE BALLS- Fantastic. I can eat this with rice all day long. CHEESY CORN- This was so addicting BOKKI FRIES- I loved this especially the sauce. Everything that we've had has been delicious and tasted like home cooked meals. All the dishes had perfectly seasoned and cooked meats, the typical Korean sides (radish, kimchi, pickles, etc.) were fresh and the appetizers were unique and oh so good. Even though this is considered a fast food Korean place, they offer authentic and fresh-of-the-grill proteins. The chef/ co-owner Eddie Hwang grills the meat as the orders come in so if you choose to dine in, your food will be served warm on a recyclable container, tasting delicious as they look and smell. My mouth is watering just remembering this place. I had visited Chicago a few weeks ago, and my friends and I were craving some Korean food on our last day. We saw KFIRE was nearby and decided to stop by for lunch. When we arrived, we were able to get a table for 8 very easily since not many people were there. Despite having a big party, we all got our food within 20 minutes. I had ordered the pork belly plate, and let me tell you, the pork was SO SO GOOD! I've had dreams about the pork haha. When you bite into it, it just melts in your mouth because of how well it's cooked. The salt on the pork brought out the flavor even more, so you can't help but eat more. The rice and vegetable side dishes were a refreshing contrast to the pork, and I liked how they balanced out the proportions evenly throughout the plate. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Korean food/KBBQ! read more

Seasoned well with sweet wine miso marinade and grilled flavor was delicious. The quality of pork belly was wonderful - nice sized cubes with a good fat to meat ratio. Rice was made well too, the stickiness of it complements the protein and the sides. You get to pick 2 sides (kimchi, kimchi slaw, spicy daikon, seasoned cucumber, marinated mushrooms, corn salad) for your bowl. I didn't get to try the kimchi, but will definitely get it next time. For a fast casual Korean spot, the food here was pretty solid! I got the spicy pork belly ( warning: it's VERY spicy) and it was super tender. I also tried the regular pork belly and enjoyed it as well. The sides of cucumbers were nice and crisp but will say the kimchi was pretty underwhelming. I've tried a bit of everything they have to offer and they all have been delicious. All the protein they offer are grilled and they have vegetarian/vegan choices with mushroom and impossible protein offering. I do wish they had tofu available as a choice since it is also good when grilled. My favorite so far has been soy ginger chicken sesame salad, kalbi and KFire spicy chicken bbq plate. The plates also include green onion salad and two sides. The salad gives a lighter tasty option to try the grilled BBQ protein and all the vegetables are fresh with the delicious house made dressing. For the Bites, I recommend the Bokki Fries. It's crispy rice cakes tossed in a sauce with caramelized onions and beef. They recommend to add with cheese but personally I didn't think it needed it. The fries were already flavorful in itself. For apps, we ordered the bokki fries, cheesy corn, and kfire balls. Bokki fries are the way to go (order it with cheese to make it even better). For the bbq plates, I was able to try the kalbi, pork belly, and chadol (brisket) with the salad. Everything was grilled to order and all the ingredients used were fresh. Meat was tender, proportion was generous, felt like it lack a tad bit of flavor. Rice was delicious and everything you want with an Asian meal. Perfect amount of stickiness and again the portion was generous. Kimchi was a miss for me. Coming from a huge kimchi lover, this just didn't hit the mark. Very bitter with really no other flavor. Seasoned cucumbers also subpar. Portion size was small, cucumbers too soggy and they seemed to missing the "seasoned" in "seasoned cucumbers". Not an amazing meal but good enough where I'd come back. This is kind of like a Korean American version of Panda Express. My friend know the owner's roommate so we checked it out. The two meats we got were pork belly and the kalbi. Both were mediocre, not tough but not tender. Flavor was lacking, could have used more salt and the flavor from the marinade did not come through as much. However, besides that everything else was pretty good, the kimchi slaw was tasty and so was the green onion salad. I loved the bokki fries, like dukkbokki but with a nice little crisp to it I really enjoyed. We heard the K Fire balls was really good but they ran out. Then I think the owner came out mid meal and brought out some to our delight! Fresh out the fryer, they were fantastic. Basically, Korean version of aracini. This place is FIRE! Stopped in the other day for lunch and was promptly greeted by the nicest crew member (maybe the owner?). The interior is modern and clean. I was surprised to see it empty, but I could tell they were busy fulfilling to-go and delivery orders, because as I waited, at least 5 people came in for pickups. I ordered the spicy chicken plate with kimchi and cucumbers. Everything is made fresh to order, so I took a seat and waited about 5 minutes for my order to be ready. The chicken was extremely juicy and tender. And the spicy BBQ sauce was out of the world. The perfect amount of spice, while still retaining loads of flavor. I might even kick it up a notch and give their inferno option a try next time. The kimchi and cucumbers were delicious as well. The vinegar marinade complemented the heat of the chicken perfectly. I wish I lived closer to KFire because I could see myself getting lunch here regularly. K fire has very good food. I have zero complaints regarding the taste of my meal. Kalbi short rib- great. Loved the spicy radish and mushrooms were pretty good too. Meal came complete with yummy rice and salad. While very good, a little pricy for what you get. 2 entrees and 1 side of fries set us back $46.00. That's a bit too much in my book for a fast casual joint. That said, it was really good food so I may return one day. This place is the only fast-casual Korean joint that I know of in Chicago and it tastes good! Service was fast and with a smile. With everything going on right now I felt safe walking in and ordering in person. They had hand sanitizer upon entry and plexiglass in front of the cashier. The kitchen is open concept so you can see everything they are doing and it was very clean looking. Order: Kalbi - This was my favorite of the meats. Tender short rib pieces with a char grill flavor. Soy ginger beef - aka bulgogi was on point. Pork belly - the char grilled taste was what stood out and the pieces were so so tender. Bokki Fries - a creative take on the popular Korean street food "dukkbokki" (spicy rice cakes), and it was my favorite thing on the menu! It's crispy and chewy at the same time. Do yourself a favor and get this! Kfire balls - another creative item which is basically Korean arancini(Italian rice balls). It's crispy, a hint of spicy, and cheesy and is great with the tonkatsu-Mayo sauce. You won't find this anywhere else!
