Wok You Want! First of all that name always makes me giggle lol. Second of all, this is one of my favorite Chinese takeout places in Chicago. I always get either their lunch or dinner specials because it is a very good deal. You get fried rice, an entree, and an egg roll. All for $10 for lunch, and $12 for dinner. Can't beat that!! And the serving size is huge! They fill up an entire styrofoam container to the brim with the rice of your choice along with the entree. Entrees to choose from are beef & broccoli, mixed veggies, egg foo young, sweet & sour chicken, orange chicken, etc. so many options! Everything I've gotten from here is good. The restaurant inside is small and not really made for dine in, however they do have a couple tables and chairs. The counter service is always fast and friendly. Their food is always cooked fresh and hot. This is one of my go to places whenever the family doesn't feel like cooking. read more

Went there on a whim since I was craving Chinese for dinner and it had good Yelp reviews. This place is strictly takeout with just 2 very small tables to eat in if u want. Ordering was easy and food came out fast. I ordered cashew chicken, beef chow fun, vegetable fried rice and chicken lo mein. My daughter doesn't live far so we took it to her home and it was still nice a hot. Everything was delicious. They really packed the takeout boxes so there was a good amount of food. General Tao and Orange Chicken tasted as they should, glad they weren't super breaded. I would've liked if the Yang Chow Fried Rice had more flavor, so I added a little soy saucd and chili. I also would've liked if the Crispy Chicken Wings had flavor or more seasoning. This was my first time and ordered directly from their website to support local. As a tip: They have great promotion offers, but be careful because dinner specials don't count towards the minimum $ order. I guess a small note flashes, but it's very easy to miss, so I learned after the fact and didn't get my free Salt and Pepper Shrimp. As a courtesy, they gave me free Crab Rangoon instead. Seriously craving sesame chicken and fried rice so I figured I'd try this place out. Starting with the chicken, it was still relatively crisp after delivery. Some pieces had a little too much breading to chicken, but a good flavor and not overly sauced. Fair amount of chicken for a small order too. The vegetable fried rice was good. A mix of vegetables throughout with my favorite being the baby corn and onion for the crunch. I wouldn't say this is the best I've had but man did it hit the spot. read more

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised! Their orange chicken was some of the best I've had in a really long time along with their chicken fried rice. The meat was definitely fresh. I don't live in the city, but I came to visit my mom and for lunch, we decided to give this place a try. We ordered takeout for delivery: chicken lo mein, Mongolian beef, mixed vegetables, sweet and sour chicken, and vegetable egg rolls. We also ordered almond cookies, but we noticed it after we were almost finished eating. I called back to let them know we were missing our cookies, and the person who answered the phone apologized and said if we can give them about 10-15 minutes, and they will have it delivered. But even the delivery man apologized! The portions are generous and everything was delicious. On top of that, they have great customer service! Hey gang! If you love duck like I do, dial up Wok stat! Their duck is fatty earthy and savory, with a gobsmackingly lacquered duck skin that is oh-so-crispy! The half order delivers plenty of rich gamy protein, so start there, unless you are simply ravenous for duck. Just be careful for bones and such, as the duck is not trimmed prior to delivery (I am not complaining, just to be clear). The subgum chicken is similarly delicious, with extraordinarily fresh vegetables (so I am told). The egg rolls are full of porky deliciousness, if a wee bit dry. Nothing that the sweet'n'sour packets won't cure. Delivery was fast and the fortune cookies were uniformly positive, inspirational, and sexy! We will certainly order again. read more

Yikes. This was pretty bad. With our regular Chinese delivery spot closed on Mondays, we decided to get delivery from Wok! You Want based on the high Yelp rating and proximity to our home. This was a poor choice. When I checked the menu, I was excited to see several more authentic Chinese dishes- duck, shrimp and walnuts, salt and pepper squid, etc, which lulled me into a false sense of optimism about the food quality. Because I hate to leave a bad review for a local business, I'll start with the positives: delivery was very quick and the price was reasonable. Other than that, I have nothing nice to say. The food was all flavorless, except for that overwhelming taste of stale/rancid oil. The general Tsos chicken had no spice, and the breading was slimy and sliding. Fried rice was just brown and greasy, with no evidence of veggies, eggs, or anything else you might expect to find. And the roast duck tasted almost spoiled - the flesh was gray. We threw the whole thing in the trash after trying a few bites. Egg roll wrappers were undercooked and the same rancid taste as the other food. Beef chow fun was the best dish, but only because the beef pieces and salty brown sauce overpowered the at same rancid oil taste. Disappointing. read more

My mom was craving some lo Main so I decided to google and found this restaurant. We have never been here but decided to give them a try since they had good reviews. I order General Tso chicken, hubby the Mongolian beef, and mom chicken Lo mein. Food came out very fast we decided to eat it there since we were very hungry. The restaurant only has 2 tables, each can sit up to 2 people so a no more than 4 can sit inside, it's more for to-go orders. Now going back to the food we ordered, we were blown away with the taste. I got a pork fried rice, steamed dumplings (they were huge!!) and a sesame chicken and everything was delicious! Rice was not too greasy, chicken was not too sweet, the dumplings were delicious despite the outer shell tasting a little funny but that's probably because I ordered them steamed instead of pan fried, but I do recommend this place. They're very generous and overall better quality than most of the Chinese restaurants here in Chicago, also I love the little thank you notes they write on the brown bag with a sharpie, it's so adorable!! read more

Found this place on Yelp and I must say it was very good. The fried rice is Uncle Roger approved they used green onions, bean spouts and a good amount of soy sauce. It's been very hard to find a good place that serve this style of food since the pandemic happened. My only complaint is they don't put enough meat in the entrees. OMG I was looking at this menu for another location for my lunch break and I called them, turned out they updated their hours and it was closed. So I decided to check this place out. I work down the street in an office so I placed an order and the food was ready in 15 min. I ordered beef fried nice and some egg rolls. They gave me hot sauce for a buck extra and they also wrap up some plates napkins, forks and spoons...even gave me a bunch of soy sauce and duck sauce and mustard. Not only was the food hot and very delicious, but the service was good. Most places don't even give you complimentary sauce or plastic plates anymore. Not bad for a small Chinese restaurant in the middle of no where. The duck was quite good to my surprise. The eggroll was a good size but the taste was very typical to other Chinese restaurants. The mapu tofu did not have meat in there so I'm not sure if you need to specify if you want meat or not, but just a heads up if you do want meat mixed into the mapu tofu. I ordered for myself and my Polish mother-in-law a few weeks ago. Spoiler alert: she doesn't speak English, so ordering food is always a bit of a guessing game. I apparently guessed right when I ordered us shrimp lo mein, General Tsao's chicken and beef and broccoli. I ordered the lunch specials and we were both blown away at how generous the portions were. Huge boxes STUFFED with delicious Chinese food are apparently the way to my mother-in-law's heart, because she declared she was full AND gave me a hug before bed. So we get this flyer in the mail for this restaurant. Well, we've been looking for a good Asian food since Emperor Work closed. We tried many, but quality was not there. With that said, we gave Wok! You Want a try. We are so glad we did!!! We had it delivered and Just to be cautious we tried the sweet and sour soup, vegetable egg rolls, beef fried rice and Orange chicken. Wow! Great portions, not greasy, white meat..... I can go on!!! We have definitely found the place we've been looking for and plan to be a repeat customer for a long time to come.
