Shoyu dipping ramen, Kwa Kwa Bao
Sarah F.

A regular stop for me. Can't get enough of the shoyu dipping ramen, love the Kwa Kwa Bao (rice filling in a fried chicken skin wrapping, it's wild.) Also a big fan of the bubble tea and the quick service. Take out is easy, but I enjoy sitting in and eating my ramen off beautiful dishes in their dining area.

Crinkle, cut, fries, drenched and melted cheese yummy

Bringing K town to Chester !WOW! Lord have mercy on my soul .lol.The ambience was so inviting very vibrant with colors and the Food and customer service was phenomenal starting from the crispy fried chicken cutlet over white rice with scallions to the fried chicken, wings, fries, drenched, in melted cheese. The servings are huge. Looking forward to trying their Ramen .the huge large selection of Boba tea was overwhelming and pleasing at the same time. this is Chester's Brookside hidden gem a must have.

Service was exceptional, Ramen was SO good! It was enough for 3 people at least. And the milk tea was just perfect. Highly recommend.

Food 3 Service 5…read more Recap: If we weren't desperate for some Asian broth after being in upstate New York for a week, we wouldn't even consider this place. I tried to be optimistic with the good reviews on Google, but folks are so off. Should've listened to yelp reviewers ! Mid: -The pork original was so bland, I had to ask for salt. The broth did not have bone flavor in it. Tasted like milky water. The noodle thickness was decent but noodles had no flavor at all. Better off eating cup noodles ‍. -My husband ordered the spicy. My son ordered the miso. All broths still did not have any depth to it because their base broth had not substance. -Takoyaki was a bit underdone and you could taste the flour. Fire: -The chicken karaage was so expensive 3 pcs for $12. But at least it was crispy, moist, and flavorful. Comes with no sauce and a small slice of lemon. Could use some kewpie sauce. -The personnel were very nice and provided good service. -AC was on full blast on a hot hot day! Spicy warning: The spicy pork was super spicy. We eat spicy all the time but never expect Japanese ramen to be this spicy.

The lady at the counter stopped me and insisted we could not sit before ordering, even though I explained the situation several times that I'm not trying to skip the line. Then I said it's okay we will wait until you cleaned the table then she purposely stalled the whole ordering process. Being corrected over and over in front of other customers and forced me to say "I'm fully understanding what you saying" like a 5 year old was very humiliating and unnecessary, especially when there were many empty tables. I've been here before and the tall gentleman at the counter has always been much more respectful and helpful. This experience was very disappointing.

Portions are large and the food is well cooked and fresh! I usually get the chengdu chicken, the beef with fresh hot veggies and the egg plant with garlic. Definitely I will. So the warm Dan Dan noodles were good, well spiced, but not overwhelming and noodles themselves were chewy. Sizzling shrimp, first huge jumbo shrimp so very generous on portions, plus cooked just right and bathe completely in the sauce, plenty of diced onions and peppers and mildly spicy over all. Chicken in chili oil was my favorite, I mean a whole cut chicken fit in that container, both white and dark meat, was tender and moist, plus the chili oil was just right spicy level without being assertive. This place I find special considering it's more of authentic Chinese cuisine rather than the typical Americanized version, that alone is a big draw for this place.

A superb little ramen joint where the owner's passion for both the craft of ramen-making and the…read moreritual of eating it really shines through. The broth is excellent in both the Miso and Kuro ramen; the Kuro in particular was a standout, especially paired with the house-made gyoza. The kimchi tasted fresh, and it was great to see real wakame used rather than a shortcut substitute. The wait staff is a bit inexperienced, and the restaurant layout is awkward. Reservations are apparently recommended, and this isn't a place to visit if you're in a rush. Still, those minor drawbacks are easy to overlook given the quality of the food. You'd have to drive into NYC to get better ramen. Highly recommended.

Plus, we were craving a soul-soothing, heart-warming bowl of noodle goodness to warm us up from the inside out. Tanma's front counter space is petite with about 6 stools and giving you an eyeful of ramen magic in the kitchen. The izakaya is fun with Japanese rock music playing- which loosely reminded me of Kill Bill's 5.6.7.8's scene. Tanma's owner was thorough and gave hubs and I a crash course on bowl+spoon placement, aligning the wakame to be at the front, sipping the broth first, pulling noodles high and dipping them in and out the broth. And then just then you move your head closer to the bowl, so that you can take in the delicious ramen combo without spilling any and slurp it up. I've had ramen in Scarsdale with a clear veg broth, topped with crispy tofu, grilled tomato slices, Napa cabbage and other grilled veg. So getting an all-veg broth with a splash of coconut cream to mimic pork broth here wasn't what I expected. Getting an all-clear veg broth here isn't an option either- but what's important is we were assured it's a herbi-broth that's used. The kimchi, bamboo shoots and shredded cabbage toppings were nice- but I opted out of the vegan chashu instantly. Again, I was assured it's vegan- but no thank you. This was an experience for both of us- and we liked it. So whether you're a ramen pro or curious newcomers like my husband and I- and you're ready to dive into the deep end of this noodle soup pool, Tanma is the place.

We got the Karage, yakatori and takoyaki as appetizers the Yakatori and Takoyaki were both very good. The karage was just there. As mains we got the seafood ramen, spicy pork ramen and karage donburi. My spicy pork was very good, the seafood the noodle may have been slightly under and the rice in the donburi was way under. This was quickly solved by the waitstaff. Even though almost every table was full and music was playing you could have a normal conversation at your table so it was a nice atmosphere. This was our second time coming here and we will be back in the future. Thanks to the team here.

The waitress came by, took our orders, and brought water. For appetizers, we got the bone-in chicken special and the chasu monster roll. I was expecting the bone-in chicken to be a piece of bone in fried chicken coated with panko breadcrumbs. It was more like a chicken meatball coated in panko with a chicken bone shoved into it. It was dry, and i would not order it again. The chasu monster roll was just a maki roll with chasu inside. It was OK. I got the spicy miso chicken karaage ramen for my entree. The broth was not too heavy, or spicy. It was also loaded with karaage. The wavy noodles held the sauce well, i would order this again. I also got to try my wife's shoyu ramen. It was also good. Not a bad place to grab dinner if you're visiting the family resorts in the area.

Very disappointed…read more Salted Cucumber appetizer average at best. Lacking flavor. Sushi rolls sampled were below average. Fried octopus ball were okay. Very hot and lacking flavor. Fried chicken ramen. Broth not very hot. Underdeveloped broth flavor. Ramen was good consistency. Very light on the greens and other additions to the ramen. Fried chicken cutlets star of the show. Very light, hot and crispy. Pork ramen. Same as above. Pork was fair at best. Very fatty but tender. And what's with the corn in the ramen. That's for a cup of noodle. Which actually has a better taste profile than this ramen broth. Service was good. Waiter was very sweet and welcoming. Prices overboard for the quality they are serving. Will not return.

Way more expensive than what you get in the city! So I opted for the seafood ramen lunch special for $17 which came with a choice of 2 sides. Service was quick. The place was clean with a lot of tables. I read some of the reviews before coming here and they were right, the broth was not hot enough and was a little bland. So I was very disappointed. I decided to try their sesame balls despite the price - $8.49 for 2 pieces since I was already here hoping that would make it better. Unfortunately it also missed the mark. I saw other people order noodle dish and fried rice and left with clean plates - maybe those taste better. I really hoped this place would be good.
