I was shopping in here for some frames for existing prints while an older woman, clearly a repeat customer, was checking out. The shop attendees must have not noticed me in the back, because as soon as she left, they began asking "what did you charge her last time?" and "I usually charge her $xx.xx...", clearly plotting to price fix when dealing with her. I stared at them and once they realized I had observed their conversation they quickly pretended to return to work and ask if I needed help. I cannot say enough about Jerry and this company. Jerry was responsive, respectful, courteous, and most of all a man of his word. He framed my oversize picture exactly as promised, delivered it on time, with a smile, at a great price and high quality- in one day! I had two prints I found at Eastern market framed here. I actually walked in to get an estimate to figure out if it was cheaper to buy a Groupon they were offering or not, and they did the math out for me and gave me the price without the Groupon. Terrible experience!! When I arrived to pick up my merchandise at the scheduled time they hadn't even started. When I asked what can be done they said it would take a few hours to complete but didn't seem to care. Since this was to presented as a retirement gift this wouldn't work. This is something that could have been easily handled with a phone call stating it will not be ready and possibly offering 10% off. Extremely disappointed in the service. read more

After visiting 5 different framing stores in the area, I finally found a framing store that cuts picture mats. The staff were very friendly and even recommended another local business for a task that they could not complete. They even had an art easel, crayons, and construction paper for my daugher to play with while I was shopping at their store. Give them a try and you won't regret it. read more

Already had a frame but I needed the mat cut to the size of the poster. Was told over the phone they could do it but when I got there I found out their mat cutter needed more space on each side to make the necessary cut. While I was disappointed they offered alternatives and eventually just cut the white border around my poster and placed it on my mat. While it's not what I was looking for this solution works. I came home and placed the mat and poster in the frame and was pleased with the results. The staff was extremely friendly and definitely left a good impression. I was even told I could get my poster framed with glass and all for around $50, which had I known I would have just done that instead of buying a frame and trying to do this myself. What I didn't want to do was spend $300 on a frame which is what I was quoted at other places. read more

I cannot say enough great things about KH Art & Framing -- and especially Sal. We first started going to the store because my high school daughter needed assistance with creating mats and mounting her photographs for her portfolio each quarter. She would often wait until the very last moment to complete the photos, leaving little time for mounting and final production (sometimes less than a day). For better or worse, Sal always came to the rescue and enabled her to submit her work on time. Not only did the photographs look professional, but the price was also very reasonable. More recently, my husband and I took a number of our Chinese prints to Sal for framing. He gave us great recommendations for the matting and frames, patiently guided us through the options, did a beautiful job completing the work, and, once again, we felt that the price was reasonable. Irish Passport Photos nailed it. I needed to get some Irish Passport photos (not the standard US 2" x 2") and after a couple of failed trips to pharmacies, one set that were not right and I was handed a scissors to cut to scale myself. I went to KH Art & Framing / Advanced Photo, and instead of a wonky camers and an almost white backdrop, the setup even had a model light. Great photo, great customer service, obviously a couple of dollars more than going to CVS but the output was a lot better. read more

I am on my second big framing project. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and know design. They were expert in trying out and recommending mats and frames to complement your artwork. They also actively listen. And take as much time with you as you need, not moving you along to close simply close a sale. They seem to care that your artwork looks good. We brought two paintings by my husband's grandfather to be framed. Everyone at the shop was friendly and helpful, took their time bringing us a lot of frames to try, made some great suggestions -- including suggesting an alternative about 20% of the price of what we ended up going with, which really impressed me as an example of integrity! -- and talked us through how to treat the damage that the canvases had already incurred. Just picked them up today and they look fantastic. And the price was good, too! Highly recommended, and we will come back for future custom framing needs. read more

I found KH online and after reading the very positive reviews I felt very comfortable bringing a piece of my great aunt's artwork there to be framed. I was told the framing would be done in 10 days and that someone would call me to let me know when it was ready On the 11th day when I hadn't heard anything I called. The person I spoke with couldn't find my artwork and asked to call me back. Panic set in for 20 minutes, but when he called me back and told me it was ready for pick-up I was relieved. I go to pick up my art, he unwraps it to show it to me, and upon closer inspection it is obvious to my naked eye that the matting is clearly not even. The artwork looked diagonal. I said, "I think it looks uneven..." He took it from me, went to the back with it, measured and re-did it. When he came back to the front to show it to me for approval, I asked, "was it uneven?" because I wasn't sure if my eyes were playing tricks on me. All I got was a curt "yes." No "I'm sorry", no "thank you". Nothing. He just handed it back to me with a sheepish look and I was on my way. I felt very unappreciated. I'm hoping my experience was just an anomaly as it seems others have had positive experiences but not me. I won't be back. read more

We went in on a day where i guess they were doing work on the store but they waved us in anyway. Some gentleman who I assume is at least one of the owners worked with us - if you can call it that. He seemed indifferent at best in trying to learn what we needed which was 3 prints framed. He did not make us feel comfortable and certainly like it was more important to be anywhere but listening to what we wanted framed. For a custom framing store wouldn't you think that was priority number one? As we 'trudged' through some customizations the owner 'served' us by trying to force us to use a matting color we told him we didn't want and made us feel bad when we asked to see other frame options. But the best part is when we asked for a price. 300 dollars. For all 3 prints? Hmmm ok not great but not bad. Oh no... 300 per print. More opportunity to make us feel bad for not wanting to let this guy rip us off so we prepare to leave this gentleman then starts to finally be 'nicer' and offer ways to cut down on the price. Why coudln't you do this before? Oh because you were ripping us off. Don't go to these people. read more

The quote to reframe my print included a groupon and was double the cost for the original frame which I was replacing because it was damaged. So I decided on a cheaper frame and when I went to collect it, the frame was not ready and I had to drive from Courthouse store to Lee Hwy store. The Lee Hwy store smelt of stale cigarettes and takeaway food. I waited 30 minutes and the end result was so unsuitable I took it to the store where I bought the print 5 years ago and paid for a really nice frme and threw the one from KH in the garbage. After searching for a quick and easy place to get passport photos taken I decided to go to KH. Based on the Yelp reviews and since it is right near my house it was very convenient. I was helped quickly and the man who took my photo was very nice, he even did some minor photo corrections to help me look my best for such a long lasting document! From the time I walked in the door I had a great experience here. Everyone in the place was kind and helpful. I had a large Jackson Pollock print that I thought was going to cost me over 400 dollars to frame and I was out the door for 190 because of the great deals. The quality of the work was remarkable and the project was done in just under a week, which is quick considering what some places will make you wait. When I went in to pick it up there was someone to help me carry it out to my car for me. What a great place... I will definitely be back! read more

I'm a bit torn about this review. The framing was workmanlike. I was disappointed in the pricing, however. I purchased a Groupon for framing at KH Art Framing some time ago. When I contracted for framing services, the sales staff gave me the price for the framing, at which time I presented the Groupon. I was not totally surprised -- although disappointed -- when the sales staff then said that they could not honor that price with a Groupon. That is, according to KH Art and Framing, the quoted price for framing represented a "sales" price that could not be discounted further with a Groupon. So basically, the Groupon was worthless -- the price using the Groupon was virtually identical to the original quoted "sales" price. This may be a problem that is endemic with Groupons when used to pay for services -- rather than discrete merchandise. The end-result of the customer service experience, however, is to ensure that I do not patronize the store again. read more
