Like you mattered. You felt like part of a family. Staff knew you were in pain, and they shared the same kindness, patience and understanding. Things have been very different since the staff turned over. The practice makes sure you are in and out as quickly as possible. You feel rushed. Doc says very little. His adjustments feel mechanical. He has no interest in having a conversation. He stopped listening. He goes through the motions and you're on your way. Staff is running the practice as if it's some kind of med spa. There pushing these different devices that are more like cosmetic treatments. And boy are they pushy, pacifically the one older woman on staff the billing clerk. Good luck with that one, especially if you are a female she will make sure you are rushed through your adjustment. If you aren't interested in the cosmetic procedures they're pushing as med spa treatments, expect to be treated poorly. This used to be a solid medical practice dedicated to caring for there patients. Now it feels like all Doc cares about is making money. Doc no longer cares about making people feel better. I expect more from someone who is treating me when I'm most vulnerable, when I am in pain and I am suffering. Just because I have been injured and can't afford fancy med spa treatments, I don't feel like staff should be looking down on me. We miss the old staff, and we miss the old Doc. It's a shame Doc is only interested in making money now. A once great medical practice has been ruined by vanity and greed.

In short, Dr. Shea helped me get back to a point where I could get under the weight again. With her…read moreknowledge and willingness to spend the mental time needed to figure out the problem, I was able to squat and deadlift again (in the short-term) and design a program to continue making gains (in the long-term). I came to Dr. Shea with a nerve-related injury after struggling to self-diagnose and work effectively with a local PT. I'm a powerlifter and was experiencing a strange numbness that would only present itself under heavy loads and at key points in movements. I decided to visit a Chiropractor by recommendation of a PT friend (not the person treating me). I chose this particular practice because I felt that at a self-owned practice, the practitioner is highly encouraged to provide the utmost attention to detail -- and I was right. Unlike other visible injuries, we're constrained by what I choose to convey as a patient and Dr. Shea's ability to 'feel' out potential problem areas. I'm beyond grateful of our ability to hypothesize together, test, and focus in on the root cause. Over multiple sessions with her, I was able to get to a place where I was comfortable under light load. Taking my responsibility to test movements and collect information allowed us to hone in on where the true underlying cause existed. We now have a good idea of which nerve is being compressed, where in the squat and deadlift movements is it being agitated, and how/why is my movement causing the unintended compression. Through that, I'm now back to the gainz with a plan to correct deficiencies and enter competition stronger than before. Thank you, Dr. Shea.

Since seeing Alexa, these incidents have become infrequent and overall my body feels much more in harmony. Recently I had a little girl, and at her 6mo appointment her pediatrician noticed she had slight right head tilt/torticullis. At my next appt with Dr. Shea I asked her about this and she offered to assess her! She did some gentle massage and offered me some exercises I could do at home with Porter to help loosen her muscles up. This was so wonderful and unexpected. I'm so thankful to be a patient of such a kind and talented chiropractor!

Let's see.. They've been going under a major reorganization the past 2 years: changing which…read morelocations will focus on which specialties instead of trying to have smaller groups spread out.. The process has been "painful" for various reasons such as the popularity of Cambridge location (not really in Harvard Square btw) and Davis Square.. The Watertown location lost a lot of specialists, including Behavioral Health (just as well maybe as Dr.. Macabe was running it and I was unhappy with his care) Davis is under construction and Arsenal is next to major construction.. Mass Health via Neighborhood Health has been impacted by its own reorg and loss of profit. Current parking at this location is difficult. I've had the same GP for 18 years (Dr.. Joo Kim) who is Excellent.. The same amazing PA (Ann Klinkuson), various Orthopedists, Opthomologists, etc. This location has the Best dermatologist I've ever encountered (boy have I moved a lot) Dr.. Robyn Marszalek. When was the last time you had a follow up appointment for your itchy feet and when you asked "what about this weird thing on my scalp?" the doctor replied "I can remove that for you now." For all locations you'll end up at Mt. Auburn hospital (although I did have a plate put into my ankle at the Faulkner) Waits are short if at all, payments organized, clean environment. Look, you're going here because of Neighborhood Health or Tufts.. Are there better staff and parking elsewhere? Yes but this a great HMO by normal standards. Finally, the My Health Online where you get appointment reminders, tests results and other is extremely well run and updated.. Anyone reviewing the call backs while not using the online system should rethink that.. I've always gotten to speak with a nurse practioner. Or doctor when I call about immediate health issues. It's February 2018 now, let's see if they can adapt to these changes, I hope so!

I did not feel like she had any genuine care about the issues that I had and didn't go into any detail on fixing them. We decided to do physical therapy with one issue which I found out later They don't have any physical therapist for me. The second issue, she just prescribed what I was already getting which I found out later that I should stop taking because of the issues it was doing to my skin. Basically this was a complete waste of time and I will be staying away from this office. I would recommend staying away from Dr. Ion at least and looking somewhere else.
