Edinburg location on University!!! My 15-year-old daughter and her 16-year-old friend went out for dinner on Friday evening, January 17, 2025. While they were ordering, they were verbally harassed by the cooks, who made inappropriate comments about the girls ordering eggs with their meals. When the girls were asked what sauce they would like, the cooks continued with jokes about the girls wanting their sauce. The girls reported the incident to the manager on site and also called a separate number to speak to a corporate manager. I have always loved this place but yesterday as I was getting my food cooked, the manager BALDE walked up to the food bar where you serve yourself and put ALL the food that had fallen out (one pineapple in particular I literally touched with my fingers because it fell out of my bowl) Well anyways HE PUT THE FOOD THAT FELL, BACK INTO THE CONTAINERS and even the RAW CHICKEN TOO!!!! (The chicken was not even cold either) He went down the line of everything that had gotten dropped and put it back so the next sucker can eat it. The staff was very friendly and very helpful the moment I walked in the door I've never been to a Mongolian buffet, so I was a little confused also I was on the go so I was looking to do take out. I forget the gentleman's name but I believe he was the manager he came immediately and broke down exactly how the process works as far as ordering the food and the costs. Got all my items for my stir fry noodles and fried rice. It was closest thing I've had to home cooked meal since being on the road (trucking) for the last month. They give you a roll with every order my initial thought was that's random but it definitely goes well with the stir fry, portions are huge. Khan's is a self-serve Mongolian grill. You create you own mix of whatever you want, and there's plenty of options for everyone. From pastas, to veggies, tofu, and meats there's something for everyone. You pick the type of oil you'd like you dish cooked in, and the sauces you want to add. I personally like the chili garlic and orange. Careful with the sauces as some of them can get really salty real fast, so ask for easy on the soy. The prices are reasonable I pay about $8.00 for an all veggie and tofu plate. The plates with meat are a couple dollars more. The portions are huge! This is my favorite place to get my meatless fix. read more

Got my usual take out with House sauce. This time it was bad enough for me to write a negative review. Vegetables (carrots and zucchini) were uncooked. Main cook was in a hurry for some reason when there was only 3 people having their food cooked. Noodles weren't cooked enough, sausage wasn't cooked enough. Main cook put sauces but hardly put any, making food bland and dry. Again, he was in a rush for no reason, squirting sauces from a far. I had to recook the entire thing in a wok at home and put sauces of my own and that's disappointing. read more

Delicious food! I always enjoy going here after school or during lunch breaks. Its located across from UTRGV. I highly recommend it! You are able to stuff in as much food as you'd like in your bowl. You begin with a bowl and go through all the foods, and you are able to choose what type of noodles you want, meat, vegetables, nuts and spices in your meal. At the end it is cooked in front of you and you are able to add whatever sauce you want to it! They give you A LOT of food, I almost ALWAYS end up taking the food home to finish it. The instructions are not clear. All the signs say to put sausage and tofu in small red bowl so we put other meat in the big blue bowl. That was wrong. So then they measured out all our meat into the small red bowls and it ended up being triple meat (extra cost). Food was tasty and service is good. read more

Do not eat here. I worked here and it was absolutely terrible. The cups are filthy, do not drink from the plastic cups, I'd recommend eating and drinking with the foam cups and plates. The plates were always greasy, I always felt bad giving the customers extra plates because every time I picked up a new plate, it was was greasy, I almost never picked up a clean plate. The forks were also sometimes disgusting with food still being stuck on them (we waitresses would have to pick out the food from the forks before folding them into the napkins) I'd recommend using the chopsticks or the plastic silverware. The restaurant also had lots of flies and cockroaches that would sometimes get into the food, and a lot of the times the food was spoiled. The manager Frank was absolutely AWFUL to work with. For one, he did not care about cleanliness, every time I brought up a concern about how the cups were dirty, he did not do anything about it. He'd be extremely nice to the customers, engage in friendly conversation, but he was just terrible to his waitstaff. He LOVED to gossip and would gossip with his waitresses about other waitresses, causing a lot of drama. And then, would continue to say he wouldn't tolerate any of it. Coming into work was always stressful, it would always depend on his mood if we were going to have a good shift or a bad shift. He also had favorites, and would schedule his waitresses based on who he favored more. And the cooks, although some were nice, some of them were very predatory towards the customers and waitstaff. The solution to some of the cooks being predatory was for the waitstaff to simply not talk to the cooks. I'd think twice about going to this restaurant, the food would sometimes be very good, but the cleanliness, the manager, and some of the cooks aren't worth the money at all. This is my first time visiting this Khan's location. It is very nice and clean. The service was great and the food was exactly what you would expect from a Khan's in the RGV. I've eaten Mongolian grill in lots of places and I can see why Khans has put everyone else out of business in the area. Good food, good service, good price. Makes me happy. read more

Was looking for some ramen and was recommended Khan's as an alternative and it definitely did not disappoint. The spices and sauce were delicious and made the meats taste so good. It was my first time in and a staff member was kind enough to walk me through the entire process to make sure I got the most out of my experience. We enjoyed our meals. Our food was seasoned and cooked well. Unfortunately we did witness a " dine & dash " while we were there. A group of women went in before us and piled on their bowls high. They were visibly upset when they were told they were going to be charged extra. Two women proceeded to pay up front while the other ran out the door. The other members of their party refused to pay their "extra" charges. I do recommend this place for their fresh food, friendly service and a wide variety of options. Khan's is always good and super filling. I always leave with leftovers. It took a couple attempts to figure out what flavors to ask for, and now I always ask for my noodles, chicken and vegetables to be grilled with sesame oil and ask for the house sauce with mongolian sauce. Worse experience ever. Burned our food and when I told the cashier she just said "thats not good". And then charged me full price. The interior is a mess and it looks like cleaning is optional. Came here in the middle of the lunch rush today, and these guys are on point. Hostess was there as soon as we walked in, very friendly and quick. Food was excellent, line moved fast, and the grill chefs were demonstrating how a Mongolian grill is supposed to be run. We love this place. The best Mongolian grill you'll find. The portions are generous and service is always efficient. You grab a plate pick your protein then add to that. Then take it to the grill and their chefs cook it right before your eyes. The best part is you can make it as spicy or as mild as you'd like. We've taken our guests in the valley here and they love it too. The prices are great! I've noticed some people complain about the prices but it's been my experience that if two people can eat for around $20 at any sit down restaurant then your doing pretty good! I guess some folks are used to 1 dollar tacos or something like that. Who knows. Kahns is great. That's always been the case here. Check it out !! read more

I have been going to Khan's grill for almost 7 years now and have been through many a personal hardships in this establishment. As a UT alum who comes down every so often, the one consistency that I always come back to is Khan's. Khan's reminds me of past relationships and memories of dates and birthdays (there's nothing quite like smashing that gong). Needless to say, Khan's is very personal to me, so seeing it's growth makes me feel as if I was a part of something bigger from day one. Now to the actual review: Khan's Grill follows the standard design to typical stir fry joints which allow customers to select which noodle, veggie, meats, sides, and spices to include in their entrees. For that reason, I don't think someone can arbitrarily say that they "hate stir-fry." What really makes the plates special are the sauces. Khan's Grill utilizes their special House blend which is a trio of Mongolian Dragon, Teriyaki Sauce, and Chili Garlic? I forget the third, but altogether it creates this wonderful punch of savory and spiciness goodness. I was first introduced to Khan's through this mix which is a great starting point, but I feel that everyone should experiment with every visit to create their "perfect plate." Crafting my perfect plate took about 2 attempted but my plate consists of a mix of canton and wonton noodles, broccoli, baby corn,mushrooms, water chestnuts, some tofu, sausage, chicken, nuts, paprika, seasoned salt, and the house blend medium spicy and sweet and sour. The sauces are mostly the light blended kind of sauce that drizzles on your dish rather than a thick coating sauce except for the sweet and sour which is reminiscent of Pei Wei sweet and sour if anyone is at all familiar. Most ingredients are typically fresh and never fail to disappoint me or make me feel insecure about eating. I usually scarf down my food on a constant basis. I would say to be particularly careful with ordering spicy dishes because it can be painful and you can easily get full with downing water. About the design of Khan's: it's a typical Asian style restaurant with fairly organized and clean seating. Booths and tables for bigger parties. It's dimly lit which I enjoy because I like to hide from the sun and enjoy my noodles in peace. Also, Khan's merch is pretty sick and a good way to flex on those around town. I'm just a huge Khan's stan and recommend it to everyone. In summary, I don't think you can just say you dislike Khan's but possibly should try several attempts to experiment and create your perfect plate, because I feel the ingredients and sauces are sufficient enough to play with. read more

Would not recommend for vegetarians. Often grizzle, burned food, or stray ingredients from neighboring plates I've had in my food. Service is what you would expect, but the restaurant looks over staffed in the waiting department. Waitresses tend to hover around the drink fountain and gossip. I've been visiting Khan's Grill for a while now, and have always enjoyed the consistency that these locations always seem to provide. As someone who cooks a lot, I can appreciate that they allow for every individual to come in and put their own spin or personal touch on their own dishes. The only way to not enjoy this place, is to not know what is in any of the food you usually enjoy! Since this place lays out fresh ingredients like noodles, vegetables, proteins, and seasonings, it is entirely up to you to build a dish that you will enjoy! Some may find that bothersome, and might get turned off at the idea of having to "build their own plate", but I love the convenience of being able to toss it all together in a bowl and watch a cook throw it on a hot flat top. There's something satisfying about being able to mix it all around with Khans' special sauces that they offer. The service is typically good, and I never find myself looking for wait staff to refill my drink or bring me more napkins. The only reason I won't toss it to a 5 is because of the slight variations one will find when visiting other franchise locations across the valley. (Yes the McAllen location does differ from the Edinburg location, as it differs from Weslaco and etc.) read more

This place has to by my top choice when in the mood for Asian cuisine. The staff are attentive and light on their feet. Just as they should at a busy place like this. The choices are great and the experience of seeing your food cooked in front of you is always great. The House Oil is probably my favorite one.
