I checked out their family packages and headed to the drive-through, where Julio helped me pick the perfect Family Value Pack. He was incredibly helpful, answering all my questions--even about the new family pack, El Chapo. We ordered a spread for Sunday lunch. We had the ribs, chicken, sausage and brisket. As for sides, we got potato salad, fries and beans. The portions are pretty generous. The brisket is moist and juicy. Really well done! The sausage also was great. The ribs and chicken we ordered were ok. The batch we got were too salty and too peppery. The chicken was on the dryer side. The sides were ok, as well. Not bad, but not memorable either. They do load you up with bread, onion, pickles and barbq sauce, which is nice. Decent bar-b-que! I've had fantastic to dry and horrible bar-b-que here in Texas. Bar-B-Cutie is a good place to go for a good meal. Enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich and got some onions and a jalapeño with pickled carrots to compliment this sandwich and it made it even better. Bar-B-Cutie's has four sauces, there is picture, which remain on each table for anyone to add to his/her bar-b-que. I tried each and all are delish!!! Their coleslaw is sadly blah tasting and expensive. But being a true Yelper, I will return and try other bar-b-qued meats and other tasty looking meats and sides! My son and I had a late lunch here today. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and a side order of onion rings. My son got one of the featured sandwiches with brisket and cheese sausage. He also got a side order of fried okra. I really enjoyed the full pork sandwich. It was very tender and not greasy. I especially enjoyed the pulled pork with the Carolina barbecue sauce. They offered ranch dressing to go with onion rings. I tried it but did not care for that combination as much. I noticed they had a green salsa, and tried that with onion rings and really liked it. I was glad to see they added a Mexican style salsa. Sandwiches are served on wax paper in a basket. They have plastic forks, knives and spoons if you were eating something that needs that. They offer a family "gender neutral" bathroom as well as gender specific bathrooms in the back. They have a second dining room in the back which is decorated very nice. I added a significant amount of salt and pepper from the table so it wasn't bland. The brisket was even worse. I came at 1:50pm and sat down with my food at 2:00pm. Fast high quality smoked brisket. My favorite is the moist brisket and the food selection in general. I came here with my mother. It's a super modern looking place. Disclaimer: I'm by no means a bbq snob, and have only tried a handful of bbq places. Still, among those I have tried, this one has stacked up really well. My mom had their moist brisket and absolutely loved it. She wasn't very pleased with the taste of their Cowboy Stew though. I had their pulled pork sandwich, mashed potatoes with gravy, a bag of jalapeño chips, and a pecan chocolate brownie. It was all incredibly delicious. Their brownie was my absolute favorite. The top part was a thick layer of chocolate (I should probably mention that's probably why it's served cold). I only wished it was bigger, but considering it's loaded with sugar, the smaller portion is probably a good call. I'm really happy my grandparents brought me to this restaurant. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual, the ideal setting for eating messy BBQ. They have a drive-thru for those not wishing to dine in and there is a play area in the back for kids to run around in. The menu is very straight forward offering sandwiches and meat by the pound. There are some specialty items like brisket ponchos (I've heard they're good), and the BBQ stuffed potatoes. Their appetizer menu is composed of various fried delicacies, think jalapeños and corn nuggets. My smoked turkey was beyond phenomenal and super juicy and flavorful. I eat a lot of turkey breast...it's the perfect healthy protein choice!! So I look for places that offer legit breast, not deli meat. I've visited BarBCutie several times and found their turkey breast to be just acceptable. But, this time I have to say something! You can get by for awhile with just acceptable cuz the choices in McAllen are limited. But truth is, their turkey is dry enough to pass for jerky. I am a very picky with my Brisket specially when places like Rudy's sells it super dry. When it first opened i gave it a couple weeks before trying it. First thing i ordered was moist brisket and it was the best, so good i returned again later that same week. Second time I ordered brisket nachos expecting a small basket but instead got brisket nachos big enough for two. (Which got me excited). Their green salsa is the best, and don't get me started with the sweet tea. After the first two times it all went down hill from there.(for my bi-fold at least) i go twice every two weeks maybe more. The service is great. Must try and my favorites are the "THE VICTOR" and "THE MARK" but can't forget the brisket potato. to be honest my mouth is getting watery so I'm headed that way now. The meats weren't very flavorful but they were lean and had a little juice to them, you can definitely have worse brisket, the brisket was lean and not bland but not a lot of rub or smoked for very long. First off, let me say that the food and speed of service are fantastic! We placed our order quickly and got our food in a timely manner; and it was delicious! My problem here (which seems to be a common theme among barbecue houses) is the cost; also that everything is ordered a la carte (no combos at all). A barbecue beef sandwich is $6.40 (with tax) and comes on a bun about the size of a 1/4 pound hamburger. I ordered two chopped beef sandwiches and the meat did not completely cover the bread on either sandwich. Perhaps the sandwich would be worth that if the meat was piled on, but it wasn't; they could have at least covered the bread on the bun. My wife ordered a smoked turkey sandwich at a cost of $6.22 (including tax). Her slices did cover the bread and my wife was happy with her portion. But, again, that is pretty expensive for a sandwich by itself with nothing else included. This place really needs some combo plates discounts to make things more affordable. Even the meat plates didn't include any sides, you had to pay for everything separately and it was very pricey. Our check total for 3 sandwiches came to $19.02 (we had water to drink). Our sandwiches were between very warm and hot; just the right temperature to dig in. The sauce used in my sandwiches were was delicious; I also added some of the "Hot" barbecue sauce that was on the table which gave it an even better flavor. Decided to try this place out since I'm in town now 3x a week. Order at the counter and get your food quick =) I ordered the chopped bbq sandwich and some fried pickles. They meat was sooo good and they really stuffed it. Great assortment of homemade bbq sauce on the table and self serve for pickles,onions, etc. Atmosphere is very laid back felt like I was sitting at home having some bbq. My only complaint is the fried pickles. I am a fried pickle fanatic and while the breading was super good, the pickle was so thin I couldn't taste it. Felt like I ordered a basket of fried breading.
