The offered 3 different sizes of bags for apple picking that ranged from small to large. They also had cider which was delicious. They also offered cider cocktails which were very flavorful. The orchard was a short distance from Gaithersburg, and it was right next to Butlers Orchard. They had typical grass/dirt parking. The orchard employees were very friendly and helpful. They were very knowledgeable about the apples and cider. The ambiance was great as the grounds were full of colorful trees and leaves. It was great fall day. I cannot wait to visit again next year. We walked around and saw the animals on the farm, and wandered around the market where they had a ton of seasonal produce available for sale.

You pay by the size of the bag you want, and they're a cash only establishment. They also have their own parking that's free. The farm is only open a few weekends per season, so you have to stay on top of it if you want to visit. It's a fun and unique activity for the family, and the kiwis were delicious.

Grab your basket which they provide and pick away. One thing about Frog Eye is it's not crazy huge where you end of walking for miles and then have to turn around and the blueberries, parking and purchasing are all right there, so everything is nearby and not spread out like some farms I've experienced. They offered water, bug spray and they even let us weigh our boys baskets and they could put the blue berries in them instead of the baskets they provide. They have a hand washing station too and you can eat the blue berries as you pick. I find their website and facebook page both very informative and accurate, but if you do have a question they respond very quickly through their facebook messenger. You want to get away from the city and looking for something different on your way out to Harper's Ferry and just enjoy the day and relax Frog Eye Farm is a great place for this and at $4.00 per pound it's a great value too. Was excited to see seeded watermelons and seeded grapes! We also grabbed some jelly's and apple butter. The Apple Butter took me back to Sunday mornings breakfast at Grandmas. The bakery side had a variety of yummy treats from doughnuts, pies, cookies and cakes. Definitely grabbed a few for later. The Apple Pie ice cream my hunnie ordered was delicious. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.

Came here on a Saturday for the fall festival. Had bought tickets online which is a bit cheaper…read more Everything's pretty spread out in a large open field. On one end they had hard cider, beer and wine for sale and a stage with live music which was nice. They also sell apple cider, apple cider donuts, and food. The fries were good but crap dip was a bit watery. There's a fire pit area for groups that you can reserve ahead. Great spot for date night or a family outing- there's a lot for kids to do- a pile of tires to climb, barrels for them to play with, a giant inflated pillow bounce area. They have a good variety of farm animals you can feed (goats, horses, bulls, etc). You can also pick sunflowers/wildflowers, go on a hay ride, do the corn maze, and there's a little train for kids. In the main building there's a small farm store with fresh kettle corn you can watch them pop on site, pastries jams etc. Only suggestion is to improve the crab dip and add more activities for adults. More of a one time visit spot, probably would only come back if they are other activities next year.

Their store stayed busy with patrons, and they also had an assistant helping throughout the store - I have seen her on a previous visit. She is very helpful. However, on this day I already knew what I wanted. As soon as I entered, I grabbed a bag. They provide the bags at the counter for this special. It is a small paper bag about 8.5 x 11 inches or so. Here is what I added to my bag initially: * A few of the Hammond's chocolates - most of my favorites were out, so I grabbed two Candy Cane Crunch described as Dark Chocolate with Hammond's Peppermint Frost. It is good, but not one of my favorites. * Orange Blossom Honey Hand and Body Lotion from the brand "The Naked Bee". It smells so good and smooth on the skin. * A bag of Jimmy's Crab Dip Potato Chips - it was my first time seeing this brand of chips here. Usually they carry the brand "My Dad's Chips" which are good too. These Crab Dip potato chips were so good that I wished there were more in the bag. To my surprise, when I go to check out, I am informed that 20 percent does not include food. Well, that sucks. So, I removed one of the food items from my bag and decided to treat one of my family members to an early holiday gift. Hopefully, they like what I got them.

The family room is a local based gift shop that sells plenty of things like baked goods, ice cream, chocolate bars, books, juices, soaps, candles, art, and much much more. The workers make sure you are welcomed and are happy to help with anything you need. I ended up getting a cinnamon roll $6, brownie $6, a s'mores choclate bar $4.50, and a 'C is for cookie' (pre packed) ice cream pint $7.49. The cinnamon roll and brownie come from Ella's bake shop and they surprised me. The cinnamon roll gave me low expectations based on how it looked but I was highly impressed to say the least. I had the cinnamon roll at room temperature & warmed it up and it very was good, I would definitely get it again. The brownie also gave me low expectations based on looks but yet again I was impressed. The brownie was good: moist and had chocolate chips in it. The s'mores chocolate bar came from Hammonds and it was alright but overpriced in my opinion. When it comes to the ice cream they have fresh ice cream available and ice cream pre packed. I ended up sampling C is for cookie (cookies n cream + cookie dough), vanilla, and chocolate. C is for cookie ended up being my favorite of the 3 so I decided to get a prepacked pint of it which was a noticeable dip in taste & texture compared to the fresh ice cream I had before but I know better next time. The family room is a nice find that I would recommend and would return to for the delicious baked goods & FRESH ice cream.
