I went into the store about two weeks ago showing him a picture that my goldfish were hanging out on the bottom of the tank and had this white stuff on them so I assumed it was ick , but Jerry told me that it looks like my pH was too low. So he gave me these rocks or gravel in a bag to put into my filter and told me to do 1/3 of a water change and then put the rocks in and within 30 seconds my fish was swimming around as happy as can be!!!! First time, probably the last time, the person working was knowledgeable but the place was a little too dirty for me. Boxes everywhere, tripping hazards, lighting was horrible, and as mentioned before, the stairs are an accident waiting to happen. My husband and I wanted to start a fish tank for our son but every fish we got from Petco kept dying and we were always given different information on how to take care of the water and what not. I was there onSaturday afternoon January 2 2021. The place was disorganized to say the least burmtbthebiwner was really busy I was told waiting for new fishes arriving. The tanks are really clean there was more variety of salt water fish than fresh water fish. The selection for was very limited I was primary looking for different mollies.i bought different tetra for my 29gallon aquarium some were priced right some were very expensive he was kind thought one was very small so he gave me an extra and I bought two plants he also gave me way extra.the total price was 136.00 was more than I wanted to spend . I've been in the hobby for over 25 years but just started a salt water tank. Searched aquariums in queens as I live out in Long Island. KHC came up, glad I visited them. The place is a bit hidden, easily missed if you're not paying attention. You'll need to go down stairs to enter, the place could use a spruce up but Jerry and his fish make up for that. He helped me out with some questions I had and offered his expertise which I found invaluable. Many fish that you won't find in other aquarium places. I ended up purchasing a Sohol tang, a clown, pistol shrimp and a goby. So far they are all doing great. I will definitely be back for some zoas and frags. Impressive aquarium shop that's totally hidden in Flushing on 150th St and Northern Blvd on a flight of stairs. Not such a great selection of aquarium supplies but the fish themselves. The selection of various tropical, fresh water and brackish water fish is very good and, best of all, the prices here are very cheap compared to other places. Staff is helpful as well. For fish alone, this place is great and the fish here look healthy. Definitely check out this place to get some new fish for your aquarium. read more

This store was wonderful! I went out of my way to come to this store to look for a new stock of freshwater fish. I was slightly confused when I walked in since the sign said wholesale fish but they do retail (just at wholesale prices ). I was blown away by the selection at this store. There were walls of fish to choose from, lots of different varieties, some I had not ever seen anywhere else. The owner was super helpful, knowledgable, and nice. He talked to me about what I was looking for and advised me on the types of fish I could get. He asked me questions to make sure the tank was set up correctly for the fish I was getting and he picked out a beautiful selection of colorful fish me. I would definitely come back here and advise others to come here if you are looking for a selection that is hard to beat at fair prices. read more

I'm not sure how I feel about this place. When I first got into reef keeping, I came here. They had a vast selection and most tanks were in great condition. I went there last week, it's falling apart. Algae is taking over some tanks. The steps going down isn't sturdy. Fish have white spots and keep rubbing against rocks. Corals aren't displayed well. There's a lack on inventory on the saltwater end. Fresh water has too much inventory. read more

Saltwater fish looked pretty good. I was there for freshwater and didn't really look, but it looked like they cared more about the quality of the saltwater fish. There was very few fish that I could actually keep in my tank because most of the freshwater they sold were requiring a massive tank. The tanks also did not have many of the fish's name or price on it. The tanks did not look clean because they were covered in algae, but this was not a totally bad thing because I didn't really see any dead or sick fish. Come here over monster aquariums for better quality fish because that other place sucked. There are better stores further out east on the island, but if you can only get here and are looming for some saltwater fish go check it out. read more

This fish store is fantastic. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and they have an amazing selection of fish. They have fish that you don't really see that often and that other stores usually don't sell.
