The last I was told is they will be out Monday, July 27. My items have been sitting on my deck for 3 weeks now. I would like to enjoy my new back yard. Brandon, the salesman, was great. The workers did a good job, and the job supervisor was nice. We had another estimate and we went with Rock and Block because we felt we were getting more for our money. I just want my job completed. I do not understand why it is taking so long to finish it.

Our experience started in May with the work beginning in July and taking about 7 work days…read more The Good - They were very prompt to come out and give an estimate and worked directly with my HOA on the plans with 3D imaging. During the estimate John the owner was present and was very reassuring repeatedly saying, with us we have you and will also be here for you if you have a problem later. Their hardscaping skills are very good. We installed 2 raised plant beds and a flat bed and also installed a large paver patio and 2 walkways. These are all very nice. In addition they installed a custom fountain that I purchased elsewhere that required water and electric. Most other landscapers couldn't or wouldn't quote this part of the job and that looks and works fantastic. They delivered and planted the tress and plants we picked out. John remained in contact and reassuring throughout the job. When the job was done it looked really great. The one exception was a debate over the size of boulders. During the estimate we discussed 5 boulders. The rocks they used as boulders are very small. 1 was only 11" long X 6" wide X 6" high and the rest were not much bigger. The rest and not so good They couldn't seem to start the job when promised, It kept getting pushed back. Thats no different than anybody else but frustrating. The often promised "we will always be here for you" disappears as soon as they are paid. Within 2 weeks we told them 2 of our trees and several plants were dead or dying. They replaced the plants and 1 tree saying that the other tree was not dead and "would come back" Two weeks later we had 2 dead trees. When we called John who had always been hands on he said we need to call the office, no problem with that. The office personally said there was nothing they could do as they only warrant trees for 30 days. I explained that we complained about the tree 2 weeks prior and John said it wasn't dead and would be fine. She called us back and said that they would do us a favor and plant the trees for free if we bought them. If they would haver replaced the one 2 weeks earlier when I told them it was dead t wouldn't have had to pay the nursery for it. Anyway they did plant the 2 trees but after they left I noticed the on was not in the ground straight and to this day I need to have the tree tied to stakes to get it to stand straight. They did install 29 low voltage landscape lights in the back and front yard. The package was quoted as 30 but somehow we ended up with 29. These lights look and work good until the early morning hours. At the same time every day the light begin going on and off intermittently at 30-40 second intervals. On Wednesday 9/6/23 I called the front office to report this problem with the lights. They said they would get back to me by Friday 9/8. On Wednesday 9/13 I called again and was told someone would be here on Tuesday 9/19 and that they would call to confirm the time on Monday 9/18. Tuesday 9/19 Midday I called to see when they would arrive at my house only to be told that they were too busy and would call me back by Friday 9/22. Again no call from them. After many attempts to get them that were met with more excuses and delays they finally agreed to be here Friday 9/29/23. I waited at home all day and they never showed. They did finally come out on Sunday 10/2/23 forcing me to change my plans for that day. They did split the lights into 2 wiring runs rather than the one which they said was overloading the transformer. I expressed my doubts that it would work as the lights stay on for hours but then every day a 4 Am they begin to go on and off. The following morning the lights did the same thing so I called immediately on Monday 10/2/23. They said they would consult with the owner for a plan and call me back. I never heard back . On 10/16/23 I sent them videos of the lights going on and off so they could see it for themselves. Again with them saying they will call and not calling. On 10/26 they finally did call and wanted to schedule someone to look at the lights on Wednesday 11/1/23. I told them I couldn't allow that as I was out of town that week but would be available the following week. They said the earliest they could do would be the week of 11/13/23. They never called to schedule so I called them on 11/17 and was told they were busy again and that they would call me to schedule something in December. It is now January and I have never received a phone call and yes my lights still become erratic every day. Occasionally I still think of John and wonder where he is as he certainly has not been there for us as he promised on that day 7 months ago. Again the hard scape work is very nice but I would find someone else to handle your plant material and lighting. I hope that I never have a problem with the hardscape because I know that I will never get any help from John or JTB landscapers.
