They killed a perfectly healthy, mature Pepper tree. I hired Carlos to remove the grass and replace it with Xerascape. He and his guys did so in a timely manner, but they botched the new irrigation system. In short order, we lost the pepper tree and a couple of the mock orange shrubs, all of which I planted over 20 years ago. When It became evident that there was not sufficient water getting there, they came out to "fix" it, but I had to send my own landscaper out to correct their work. By then, it was too late. Honestly we haven't installed our turf yet. But the owner came to offer a quote and he seemed fairly honest and told me that my yard is not and won't be ready for turf for awhile. Pool has to be completed first and ....... He clearly explained the reasons over and over again for me because I was so stubborn haha. I just feel bad for my dogs. Things started off well enough. The planning and quote was thorough. He even laid out how the turf needs to be installed to reduce the number of seems. Carlos' quote was the most expensive that I received, but he seemed to have the expertise and I was willing to pay for that. But before you think, "nice yard," know that I designed it, NOT Sun City as they may claim. Things seemed to be ok until we started the project. We were told that the artificial grass had not been ordered and that it would take 3-6 after completion of all the hardscape and planters before the grass would arrive. My first thought was, we've been working on getting HOA approval for a few weeks and you have a deposit, but you didn't order the turf? So, I let that go for a few weeks. Then I called Carlos and asked if there was another grass option. There was a heavier weight turf he had in stock for a little more. I was ok with that. But now I'm wondering why he didn't offer that earlier. So, the turf was installed. But they ran out to do the strips around the 2x2 stones. I've included the pictures here. Ok, so we wait... another 3 weeks. I called Carlos at 3 weeks... is the extra turf in? He says no. So I ask for the name of the distributor and I'm going to call. I called and found enough turf (same brand and weight) to finish the job and paid and picked it up myself. Now the job is complete.... at least we thought so. A few weeks ago, I texted Carlos that several seams are now showing. They are vertical seams (in direction from the house). We had discussed laying the turf horizontal to the house so that minimal seams were needed. His answer? "We didn't have enough turf to do that." Ok, so why didn't you tell me that Carlos? No answer. Earlier this week, not only the seams show, but the turf is buckling because it wasn't stretched out enough at install. Again, I text Carlos. 48 hours later, no answer. He never offered to fix the seams either. Here's another issue I have with the install and seams. This is my 4th yard that has turf installed. Each time, the seams were bonded with tape underneath to keep the seams from coming apart. They basically told me that they don't do that. Why? I don't know. It's common practice in SoCal, but apparently they don't do that in Vegas? Sounds fishy. I wouldn't recommend this Company. They were pleasant to work with, but don't stand by their work... and they'll "ghost" you when you complain. Check the pictures out. read more

Michael, Blue and their team are exceptional. Due to my wife and I being out of the country for a couple of months, Michael was willing to stop by our place for a 2nd time to provide a revised quote. Throughout the entire process, Michael and Blue stayed on top of communicating complications related to the project. They paid great attention to our design plan. After my wife and I confirmed the design, Blue put together a schematic landscape plan and I submitted it to the HOA. Once I received the HOA approval, I informed MB Tree & Landscape Services and they scheduled to start the work for the week after. Materials arrived on Monday and they were able to start working on Tuesday, finishing off the job on Wednesday morning. As you can see from the pictures, they did an amazing job! I would not hesitate to hire MB Tree & Landscape Services if we move to another location in the valley. These guys are equipped with landscaping skills and have put together a great team. read more

We have just moved in a couple of months ago and are in the process of remodeling the outside. The prior occupant did almost nothing and we had a rock garden which looked horrible. We interviewed several companies and got quotes which were wildly different. This company gave us a fair estimate and were able to fix our sprinkler system at the same time. The end product was fantastic and looks good all our neighbors said how good it looks. They did our lighting of the yard too. Even that turned out bueatifull. The foreman was very efficient and always had his workers on time, the owner would stop by to check every once in a while. Fast, efficient & cost efficient everything you could ask for. read more

Pros-Carlos is friendly, transparent with the estimate (he breaks down the cost of each material & labor) and his guys showed up on time and finished the job. Cons- Carlos standard of customer service is low. He agreed to pick up my plants and mow my loan in my job. The day before he backed out of picking up the plants and I had to drive to 2 different Star Nurseries to find the plants I needed at the very last minute. He didn't mow my lawn because his guy didn't bring one (how unprofessional is this when I confirmed twice with you that this would be done). I gave him over 50% deposit before he started the job then he wanted the balance before the job was even completed even though this was the agreement we had (remaining balance would be paid when the job was complete). He started treating me like I wasn't going to pay. Carlos made remarks like "I can't pay my guys until you pay me." Do ppl actually pay 100% before the work is done? He also mis calculated the amount of pavers I would need (square footage; so there weren't enough pavers for what I wanted). This is extremely stressful on the day of. My mesa wall was a lot deeper than it was supposed to be and I ended up having to spend extra money on more soil (over $80+ more than quoted-I needed an extra 2 tons of soil bc of his error). I really wanted to give a 5 star review. He was the cheapest quote I reviewed and now I know why. He cuts corners. Next time, I'll just pay more to have everything done up to my high standards. read more

I have to say I was unhappy with some work that was done originally, but Michael not only fixed the problem, he went above and beyond expectations and I am over the top thrilled that everything is fantastic. He was quick to own up to his other helper not doing the job correctly and didn't make excuses. Instead he jumped right in to fix it. The fact that he and his lovely wife were more concerned about doing things right than they were about anything else means a lot. We had Carlos come for an estimate. We explained & showed him exactly what we wanted, from turf to pavers and what our ideal backyard will mostly be used for. Long story short, I was in contact with Carlos, back and fourth back and fourth. We wanted to get our turf fix as it was lifting on the corners which he explained would need demolishing. He mentioned that he'll have someone come and take a look, a week goes by and he tries to tell me that it is what it is & they were too busy even if I was willing to wait, it's like he was trying to avoid on coming to take a look and fix it.... A year gone by and no one ever came back to check on us. Even if it was just a "hey did u still want to have us take a look and see what we can do?" I've got a Mesquite in my front yard that needs to be trimmed back every year. And every year the service gets more and more expensive, even though the results are the same. So I went on Yelp to find a new tree service. Sun City Landscaping gave me a reasonable quote and the team that came to do the job was professional and friendly as well. Great job on the trimming. BEWARE!!!!!! Read the other bad reviews on this page because they are SPOT on. I wish we paid more attention to them. We began this process with Carlos back in November or December of 2020. We had MULTIPLE meetings regarding the work we wanted done. This was a 22,000 dollar project. So we went over every detail multiple times. The review that said "Carlos is like the crummy car salesman who promises everything and delivers nothing" is exactly it. We discussed every detail of the project from irrigation, planting, pavers, lighting, ect because we had a very specific vision of what we wanted. We showed him pictures and even took him to houses we got our inspo from. HE IS A LIAR. Nothing he says is actually what happens. First off he does none of the work himself. He is a contractor. So essentially he gets the job and then goes out and finds random guys to do the work. These men aren't trained or professional. The first problem we had is after the first day of work they left their garbage and food wrappers alllll over our house and it attracted rats!!!!!!! Who comes to someone's home and throws their garbage like animals? The next problem is he will nickel and dime you for everything. I'm not kidding. It's pennies with this person. He told us irrigation is part of the job because when you install turf they rip out any existing lines. When it came time to do it he said it's not included. The guys who put the turf down PUT THE NAILS into the piping so there were leaks everywhere and someone else had to spend two days ripping up the turf and pavers to fix it. Next issue of many is his timing. Again he hires random people to do the job so they come and go as they please. They don't care that you work or have a life. They will show up whenever they want, with no regard or concern about your schedule. They will work some days and then go several days without any work. He made us go to the nursery on Saturday to pick out trees because he told us the job was finishing and he will plant them that day. He then went two days with them unplanted and just sitting in the driveway blocking us from coming into the garage. Like why make us get them if he couldn't plant them?? Pictures are included. The other thing is money. Carlos wants every penny up front. From the beginning we talked about a 60-20-20 breakdown. He will show up at your house at 8am asking for money WITH NO WORKERS and demand more money. He brought 10 people to the house asking for money before the job was even completed!!!!!! He will keep saying "you paid for materials not for labor." It literally doesn't matter how much you pay he'll ask for more. Who gets all their money before work is done?! What company does that? THANK GOD I refused because the irrigation was a nightmare to fix and he only did so because I had kept the remaining balance until he did. It doesn't matter if you write everything down for him and go over the project a million times (trust me we did). He will weasel his way out of 80% of what was promised. He is also so unprofessional it's disgusting. He'll stand outside your house as you're trying to figure out all the issues and laugh at you when you're upset. He also can't measure for his life. He ordered more pavers then needed (again you eat the cost) and didn't order enough for the wall!!! So we had to wait another day/ two till he went and got more material. Please please please find someone else. I've literally never written a bad review. But there are SO MANY other people in vegas you could use. There are hundreds of companies to pick from here. Don't be tricked like we did. Also he says planting is included- it's not and will charge you. Also the person he uses again is not trained in any way so everything that got planted (we spent 2,000) on trees/ flowers will die. And when you argue with him he'll say "well it wasn't included." Look at my roses. These aren't even a week old. Oh and they don't clean up after their work. So when the project is finished as you would expect them to they should clean their debris/ garbage/ dust, ect... right? WRONG! He won't and will laugh when you ask him to. He also doesn't have any equipment and needs to rent everything. So your project will literally be on hold for a broomer/ saw/ bobcat, etc. read more

In response to your reply, it was not my fault due to funds not being available to you from your bank. Most banks would give you the funds right away from a Cashier's Check. Further the changing from crushed granite to pea gravel wasn't a problem since you didn't place the order yet.
