This shop was absolutely amazing! The service the ambience and the quality of Kia's work was outstanding. This was my first time going to the shop. The quality of service exceeded my expectations. From the time that I got there and Egypt her assistant greeted me immediately and started the process. Egypt is a stylist in the making that has a very pleasant personality. Kia Nicol is absolutely AAAAAMAZING!! She has flawlessly coiffed my tresses for over 12 years and she "NEVER" disappoints. She has been with me as I transitioned from relaxed to natural hair, and educated me regarding my hair texture and the products that work best for me. I had no idea my natural hair was this soft and curly. I moved out of state, and I still book appointments with her when I am in town and order my hair care products from her. Kia is the nicest stylist..however a week ago I was disappointed to have a 8:30 appointment and not leave shop until 2:15...we're not talking weave or cut, just your basic relaxer and curl...not to mention her prices are premium which I don't mind if I'm receiving A 1 service on all levels. I am annoyed to pay 85.00 for relaxer plus 15.00 tip, and to be at the shop over 5 plus hours...Really? I believe she double books which is not cool... when she has to assist the assistance it takes too much time. I love how she does my hair but the wait left a bad taste in my mouth! read more

I came in for a consultation at this salon and was thoroughly impressed by Kia's professionalism, kindness, and knowledge. We scheduled an appointment which I unfortunately cancelled. I attempted to reschedule but Kia messaged me that "it will have to be another time." I asked what the earliest would be and I got no reply. I called the salon and I was sent to voicemail. I left a voicemail and two days later, I got no reply. I called once more and left the final voicemail and I got no reply. I was extremely disappointed that I was refused service after a successful consultation. This type of handling makes me weary towards the services they offer. If there was decency to (at the very least) respond to a potential customer, I would not be writing this review. Overall, I would NOT recommend this salon to any NEW clients or customers looking for a new salon. read more

I was looking for a new stylist and was hoping and praying I wouldn't have to try too many before finding the perfect one. I have long hair but wear a net weave due to my active lifestyle. I went to Kia and she is excellent! Kia and her assistant did an awesome job! I have received so many compliments on my hair and could not be happier! I'm late on my review but Kia is the best....I mean she is a really outgoing person and she watched American dad with me and my friend which is something u don't see in a everyday hair salon. She has great service all around,she gave me a complimentary treatment which has been working on my hair for the past days now like by day 2 my hair would usually be sweated out and messed up but after being with her my hair feels so silky and just wonderful....Kia is freakin magical..... read more

Horrible experience!! Where to start. Was looking for a new hairdresser and saw all the great reviews online so I chose this place. I should have known that something was not quite right when I was asked to put $50 down on a $95 service. A huge deposit like this is not normal for a hairdresser. But wanted to find a good one so I trusted the reviews. I get there and Kia Nicole's assistant Egypt greeted me at the door (very nice young lady). We sat down and she began parting my hair (I assumed to prep me for Kia) then I realized that she was doing the relaxer but she is not the STYLIST that I paid for (ahead of time), so I had to verbally ask "are you my stylist". She said no and that she was just getting me ready for Kia to do the relaxer service. Well I guess I was not speaking English because she not only applied the relaxer but then washed it out and conditioned me. Is this not the service?? At this point I was fuming but trying to keep it together as I had chemical in my hair and needed it washed out and needed to be blow dried before I could walk outside. But then it got WORST! After the wash, Egypt combed my hair and put me under the dryer, after the dryer stopped I was put back in the chair and sat there for a half an hour before anyone came back to dry my hair. I WAS SITTING THERE WITH WET HAIR. The whole time the stylist that I paid for, Kia Nicole, was doing other people's hair and eating. Actually stopped to eat while I was sitting in a chair with wet hair. I specifically asked her "are you going to style my hair" and she responded "yes, but Egypt was helping her out so that she can eat". She not only ate but had four other clients that were booked around the same time as me. When I got there it was two people ahead of me, and then two came in after me. Why were we all booked at the same time?? So, I have to pay you a deposit to supposedly respect your time but mine does not have to be respected. This whole experience was ridiculously unprofessional and then it got even worst! Kia Nicole finally came over to do my hair and took the blow dryer from Egypt, she then said that I had to be washed all over again b/c my hair was too oily. She tried to say that it was b/c of something that I had put on my hair before the appointment but it was absolutely b/c a student (who is not an experienced professional yet) completed the relaxer service. So I had wet hair for a total of an hour. RIDICULOUS! At this point I am floored, completely shocked! Kia Nicole washes my hair a second time and puts me under the dryer again. While styling my hair she proceeds to tell me that she sees heat damage on my hair and then publicly called over her assistant Egypt "Saying come look at this, this is something your rarely see". "Sorry to put you on display but your kind of like a freak of nature" "I wanted to show her b/c we don't see this a lot". THIS IS WHAT SHE SAID WORD FOR WORD. In front of a salon full of people. Then publicly tells me that I should get a rinse to cover up my grays. I responded with "I Love my grays". This whole experience was a tragedy! I have been getting my hair done since I was 15 which was twenty years ago and this experience takes the cake! Her assistant Egypt is kind soul that is a promising stylist to be but it should be made clear that the stylist that people are paying for is not the person that will be doing their hair. She had this poor girl completing her work for multiple clients at one time. She was the actual stylist that completes the work, washing, coloring, setting, EVERYTHING. I was there for a total of 4 HOURS with all these people in a pandemic. I always tip $20 to all my stylist. I wanted to leave so bad that I just paid the $47 balance by handing her three twenties and left. I will definitely remember this experience for years to come. Enter at your own risk! read more
