This review is for KIA on ATLANTIC on Abess Blvd: The ultimate "shady used car" experience -- but on a brand-new car. As a senior, I have bought many cars, but this was hands-down the most regretful car buying experience of my life. The deception started immediately: the salesman told us we were buying a 2026 Kia K4, but it turned out to be a leftover 2025 model. The finance manager, Tony Rushiti, was incredibly dishonest. He refused to show us any hard numbers during the process (why I didn't walk I can't tell you), hiding behind a digital-only system (no paper printouts to view) and "monthly payment" tactics. Against my better judgment, we finished the deal and were handed a thumb drive with 47 poorly named PDFs. The contract in our files does NOT match the contract this Kia dealership sent to Kia Financing. Kia Financing contract is much higher. When I finally got home after 6 plus hours at Kia, I finally dug through the files, I discovered total fraud. The $2,000 discount we negotiated was completely left off. Instead, Tony snuck in "premium protection packages" and massive fees that inflated a $30,000 car to a staggering $52,000. I had to give this 5 star review solely for the service that I have encountered and received from Anthony Grant (Service advisor) for these past few years. Anthony takes pride in what he does and makes sure that all of your service needs are met before you walk out of that door. He engages with the clients and makes sure everyone is good throughout their time there while waiting on their vehicle. When he knows that something is not right, he will go out of his way to correct it and will make sure you know exactly what is going on with your vehicle at all times. I would trust a homeless person more to work on my car. I understand I am a young female but taking complete advantage of me by stealing a part that was 100% on my car is insane. I went for an oil change and they did put my splash guard back on and I didn't notice for months later because I didn't know they were complete liars and awful at their jobs. They put the oil change sticker for 2028? They then tried to make me pay $400+ for the same part that they lost? I spoke to Abby in the service department multiple times. She lied multiple times saying she would check cameras and get back to me. She DIDN'T, I called her. Any time i have gone in for any kind of service it has been +3 hours. This most recent time I went in for an inspection for minor damage on my front bumper which was only on the right hand side. After the inspection i was told i needed an alignment which would be $109. 2 hours after that, the service technician came out and had said he still needed to handle the recall. Since i had already been there for 3.5 hours i told them to just not worry about it. The point of the inspection was to get a quote to fix the damage, I never received that at the dealership and have yet to receive it. The biggest problem i have other then the amount of time it takes, is that i was charged $229 for a "body repair" and absolutely nothing was fixed or even attempted to be fixed, and i'm still waiting to know what needs to fixed. read more

I must say, for years we have all heard the tales about not being able to trust Car Dealers. THAT is not the case at Kia on Atlantic. Sheldon spent a lot of time with me, making certain I understood my options, and even ordering a shuttle to take me home so I didn't have to sit for hours while my car was being repaired. I not only traded my car but put down cash to get my car which I found out later I was overcharged. Please note: I did not buy this Kia from this dealership, it was purchased in 2018 from a dealership that's no longer operating. This is not a bad review for this dealership but the only way that I could caution consumers to please reconsider buying Kia vehicles... cautionary: I literally was driving a 2017 Kia Rio (purchased preowned in 2018 with 38,000 miles on it at that time and currently it had 113k before combusting for unknown reasons) . It burst into flames within 2 minutes... barely time to get out of the car...wow!!!! Present day: we have had this car garaged for 2 years and I just took it out of the garage for the first time yesterday since January 2023. I had hopes of fixing this vehicle in order to gift it to a college student since we were no longer interested in keeping it and thinking it required minor maintenance since the engine light was on and the car started stalling when driven. But it's a 2017 new looking vehicle so i had no idea putting this car back on the road would almost cost me my life! we presumed this car just required an oil change, possibly a tune up and and I put a new battery in the car yesterday (11/20) and the car worked just fine for 15-20 minutes of driving yesterday just to try to get a car wash on the car. The engine light was on and the car was having a hard time picking up speed but we figured spark plugs and again this all happened yesterday. after about 30 min of driving the car stopped completely working but I knew the battery terminal handle was loose and that piece had to be replaced too... still not thinking my life would be at risk. I get in the car it starts right up so I'm happy thinking good at least we can get it home and we'll take it to the mechanic in the morning...I was so confident in the performance of the car that I told my daughter that she could head back home that I'd be ok and I'm so thankful she didn't heed my direction this time. I'm thinking she's just young and too worried over nothing (ironically it was her quick wit that saved my naive life!) After proceeding down the road in bumper to bumper traffic (we were at a standstill due to an accident when the car shut off. I jump out fix the terminal as tightly as I can and the car starts right back up, I am now relieved my daughter stayed with me because it calmed my anxiety that she was there with me on the bridge when the car just completely stopped, no sound of any kind but after tightening the terminal it came back to life immediately so relieved and still convinced it's just a loose battery terminal, we proceed down the road at 5-10mph and for the first time in grateful to be in standstill traffic because this car was having a hard time moving anyway. We are still in bumper to bumper then as soon as the traffic broke just a bit the car had a hard time getting up to 40-50 mph and then I hear a loud pop and my daughter calls my phone panicking and screaming for me to pull over and get out of the car that it is on fire, ppl on the highway yell at me to get out the car... we hadn't even driven the car further than 2.5 miles in bumper to bumper traffic, we never even made it to the exit! I could not tell this car was on fire and within less than 2 minutes this is the 2017 kia Rio I was driving at 7:45 for less than 15 minutes! It was completely engulfed in flames by 8:03pm. I am just thankful to my Lord and Savior for keeping me totally safe!! I managed to grab my phone and wallet just in a nick of time along with my life completely unaware of just how much danger my life was in... wow THANK YOU JESUS! Our new Kia Telluride is awesome! However, I would not recommend this dealership. Almost 30 days later and we are still waiting on our tag. The dealership made a mistake in our paperwork so they overnighted it to us, we signed the corrected copy and overnighted it back. This was done the same week we bought the car. We are ready to go out of state and our temporary tag is about to expire. Our local tag office has no info from the dealership. It is impossible to get someone at the dealership to take our call or call us back when I actually get a voicemail. In addition, we were not given the bill of sale (which was supposed to be on a jump drive that was given to us). No bill of sale makes it impossible to get out temp tag extended by our local tag office. Basically, they are good at getting the sale done. They are so good that we weren't really sure if we were done when the salesman left us at the car-actually jogging away. But, if you need anything after the sale, you can absolutely forget it. While corporate Kia does not "control" individual dealerships, they do take complaints and try to help. Corporate kept me on the line for 30 minutes while they tried to get someone on the phone. They had no success, hung up and came back on the line with me. They told me how rudely they were treated by the customer service operator and that they had been on hold this whole time. The rudeness was a fact that I had not shared with them even though I was shocked at how I was spoken to this afternoon. Corporate apologized and said they didn't want to keep me on hold and that they are going to call them right back and stay on this. They will call me with an update as soon as possible. My Husband initially started the process on the phone with Jordan Bruschke before coming in so that no one's time was wasted. We were set on a certain budget etc. Jordan was very helpful on our search for the right vehicle for me. My Husband gave him all the info, needs/wants so that the process was easy when I came in. He wasn't pushy or trying to sell us something that we didn't want. We appreciate the time he put into the sale and making sure that expectations were met. We had a couple concerns that he took care of right away the next day after the sale. We will definitely return to Kia if Jordan is there in 2 years to purchase for our Son. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. First, they will charge you more fees than you have ever paid to any dealership in your life....and they will try and justify it and spin it (trick you) with an 'out the door' price while still overcharging for the car. I'm embarrassed to say I paid well over $2K just in fees. I wanted the car. I followed the car. (it was a nice used car the GM's friend traded in) Otherwise, I would have walked right out the door and never looked back, which I should have done anyway. Next, the salesman. If he doesn't like the question you ask, he'll just get mad and walk away. Then, the finance guy. This is where it really went sideways. I wanted an extended warranty on the car to which he sold me the most expensive one that included hybrid (not needed) and roadside assistance (also not needed) and had NO IDEA what was included/excluded. Now the really fun part. I drove it off the lot and 5 minutes later the computer went nuts and threw fault errors as the pre-sense was broken. They knew it. They admitted to clearing the fault code but lied about which one. (and couldn't prove it because it was done under the table by a 'friend') At this point, I'm returning this car. The manager obviously didn't want that (as I paid cash) so he offered to fix the computer problem properly this time. Against my better judgement, I agreed. It took them 2 weeks to do so (all the while I'm paying insurance on the car); I researched the warranty and requested a change to it during this time. They would not respond so I physically went there to talk to them and pick out the new policy. The finance guy, Richard, who couldn't care less about customer service and ignored me for weeks, finally told me to just cancel it myself and he would get the paperwork on the new policy sent to me the next day. Fine. I cancel it on my end and got a confirmation email. The warranty company advised me the money was being sent back to the dealership. A month goes by, still nothing. I escalate the issue to management and am told the only one who can do this is 'on vacation'. When he gets back, Richard starts texting me that it was my fault as I didn't cancel it when he 'told me to' do it for him. He threw in a few insults as well and tried to tell me the warranty company would send ME the money. (again, clueless) After being called a liar, I sent the proof of cancellation I did 6 weeks earlier to management stating I did not want to speak with him again and wanted a refund. I haven't mentioned the fact they gave me the car with the fuel light on and the worst 'detailing' job I've ever seen. All I can say is this dealership is run by a bunch of monkeys at best and be advised to steer clear. UPDATE: Well, it turns out I really needed that warranty. The car needed a new water pump, motor mounts (wth??), the convertible top was leaking, and needed new brakes within the first month. Please choose another Kia location to do business with; a more professional dealership. On Sept 30 2025, my wife and I negotiated with a salesperson (I could sense he was first-day new or someone's son who had been given a job as a favor). We negotiate a new Telluride SUV only to find out after negotiations, and right before going into finance, that WE were negotiating prices for a vehicle with the WRONG VIN. In other words, that wasn't the car that we shook hands on or were buying. Utterly annoyed, we managed to move forward in the process, not before they tried to sell some baked-in items. Do not buy them!!! We sat down with the Finance Director (name rhymes with R.ony P.ushiti). He is an absolute piece of shit. KIA had a bunch of warranties that they push on you. I advise you NOT TO BUY if you don't have to; It will inflate your car note along with taxes, when the Kia warranty of 10-year/100,000 miles should be enough for most items. However, we initially bought the vehicle with all warranties, but something didn't feel right as we made a huge purchase and went home. We didn't have buyer's remorse because I had done my research beforehand. I didn't like the treatment or the inflated price that the warranties caused. The warranties caused the price of the initial sale to go up whopping $11K is sales and almost $22K by the time we reach the payoff quote/end of agreement. My wife and I talked about it. 2 days later, I reached out to the Finance Director to let him know we wanted to drop the unnecessary warranties. He urged us to keep them and stated that we would need them despite me feelings as we didn't. On 9/30/25 (5 days) we opted to come into the dealership because it was hard getting in contact with the Fin director after the initial sale. It felt like once they closed the deal, you were discarded and on to the next. We told the guy we wanted to cancel some of the warranties and how to go about doing that. He provided misinformation and was difficult in his communication. We decided we should speak with him in person and told him we would be coming to the dealership. We arrived and we waited for him. When he saw my wife and I he acted as if he never met us and didn't know we were coming to the dealership. We sat in his office and told him what wanted removed from the warranties. We removed a total of $8,594 of unnecessary warranties and we BOTH signed a cancellation agreement that he was to send to the warranty company for reimbursement. He didn't say how long it would take, but he deadpan told us that he already made his money off of the sale and didn't care want the warranties now. We wanted to refi with another company which was our intention from the beginning. However, we couldn't refi until the new adjusted sale of the car had come back after the warranties had been adjusted. We left his office confident after another hand shake thinking everything would be handled. Again, this was on 9/30/25. He told us to wait until after the first payment to see the adjustment and then try to refi if that's what we wanted. 2 months later (late November 2025) and 2 weeks before our second payment was due, I reached out to Kia Finance to find out if the adjustment had been made. It had not. I was irate and still am as nothing had changed. I reached out to the Finance Director to ask him if he completed the paper work and it turned out that he NEVER submit the cancellation, nor did he offer any apology or take responsibility for his actions. He simply said he would fix it, which he DID NOT. Not to mention, it took numerous calls after waiting long lengths of time to get R.ony on the phone. My wife had to get involved because I wanted to physically fight as this point. If you shake my hand, that means your word should mean something. She ended up getting in contact with the Sales Manager who happens to be his boss. He promised my wife he would fix the issue, but he seemed like he was dragging his feet also, so we ended up going back to the dealership and had a sit-down conversation with him. I expressed my frustration and that I was not happy with the Finance Director that he wasn't even apologetic about mishap. The Sales Manager offered to fix the issue, but it's been 3 weeks and I'm still waiting for the warranty dept to send a check with the adjustment back to the dealership so they can send the check to Kia Finance in order to refi my car. I'm literally stuck and furious about it. It is now December 12th 2025 and our issue is still ongoing and not resolved. Not only have we paid another payment at the rate that we didn't want to pay. I never do this but I feel like this time its deserved. I dropped off my wife's Optima for an oil change and tire rotation. Later get a call that oil is leaking from the oil pan and the timing seals. Including the oil change and tire rotation, was quoted for $10**.00 which is important, I don't remember exactly what the quote was but I remember it being quoted as "Ten -something-" on the phone. I work in a call center, I know what I heard. Gut punch but its gotta get fixed, and i'm glad they found it. Go to pick up the car, bill is $19**.00 and the guy swears I must have heard him wrong and apologized. I didn't hear him wrong. At that point its his word against mine and I got the vibe that this wasn't the first time this has happened since he was completely unfazed by my accusation. Why does this suck? This is work that if left undone can kill your car, and given the $19**.00 quote over the phone I would have still agreed to the work. Instead, I get sticker shocked twice on the same fix, feel cheated, and the staff is handling me like Im trying to pull a fast one. I was so flustered I almost accidentally left without paying after they talked me down. No accountability, no manager. They could see I was upset and even after apologizing I still had to ask if there was any room on the bill because I feel like I was lied to. Only then, did they give me a COUPON for $100 off. Coupons don't need manager approval, and if they find themselves in this situation should probably use it as a tool for situations like this. The lady behind the parts/payment counter was also very rude throughout this interaction. This isn't the first time for that. Wife and I agree we will be finding another Kia dealership, or a private mechanic from now on. Bought a used soul from here and the engine is needing to be replaced after just a couple months and less than 2k miles. I didn't think this would be such a big issue trying to get help or service. So much for certified preowned. This stings extra hard as they told me when i bought it that the crack in the windshield and new tires would be extra cost and wait time. A few years ago I traded in my college vehicle, a PT Loser (Crusier,) for a "newer" used vehicle at Southside Kia. To my surprise, I was able to trade-in this vehicle "as is" even after knowing the issues I faced with the vehicle after purchasing it from a "buy here, pay here" car lot. Years later, and another vehicle later, I found myself back at Southside Kia trading again. This time I walked out with a brand new vehicle. Not sure how it is at the other Kia dealership, but the Atlantic blvd location is not good. They have a couple of guys that are great at their job and make you sure your okay during your long wait. All the women their in the front act like they don't like their job or want to be at work. They never check on you and every time you ask about your car, they do not know what is going on. I am sure like some of other places, the mechanics are good and horrible. The need to take pride in fixing people cars as they can prevent a lot of issues on these roads and other expensive repairs from the car of a worker doing their job correctly. Their lobby is dirty and not enough seating while you wait. I hope they shut that location down once the new Atlantic Blvd location is up and running. They need to reinterview their employees as some do not need to take their work ethics to the new location. This is my first Kia and it's not a pleasant experience when dealing with the dealership. No one actually cares about customers complaints or issues. I don't care at this point to even give them my business regardless of apology. Because they seem very unapologetic to care in person. Long story short, oct 31st i paid $2.2k+ to get my catalytic converter replaced only to find out i had a faulty repair within 2 weeks of replacement. Anthony the advisor wanted me to also pay $400 on top to replace the o2 sensor. I didn't have the money at the time so i got repaired at a different location for cheaper on Sunday because my car broke down on my way to work. The place i took it to said its the cat that's glowing red and is damaged. In disbelief they let me see the cat and sure enough it was glowing red!! Cut to getting it towed to kia southside the next morning. For them to tell me They wanted to charge me an additional $1400 on top of what i already paid to replace the cat to then also fix the fuel injectors. They wouldn't honor my warranty because they wanted me to pay for an additional $1,400. So I had to get my car towed home out of pocket because my car is underivable. These guys are scammers. I am never giving them my business again. Please don't go here. Go somewhere else. They will try to up sale you on parts that are way beyond what it'll cost you elsewhere. There's a reason for the two star average from 90+ reviews. Dennis, Phillip and the finance guy Alex are all predators. First they wouldn't honor their own car price on their website. Then they told me that the $3695 new car warranty was mandatory, and that although the car is cheaper on their website, they would have to manually add on the warranty and my savings would disappear. I didn't realize how many negative reviews they had on google about the same individuals doing the same shady transactions and preying on customers. If they have to lie and cheat in order to sell cars, what makes you think they will be honest with your maintenance services, factory warranty, and manufacturer recalls. Dropped my Kia off on November 6th for a diagnostic. I was called on Monday the 8th that my car was ready for pickup. Upon arriving a noticed a large scratch down the back left panel of my car. Since my advisor Tommy was not there that day, I was advised to leave and that he would call me to schedule the repair. The following day, my spouse arrived at the dealership and was told they would not repair it. They refused to take responsibility for the damage they had done. Saying the car wash is a separate entity and it was scratched there. I told them I had requested not to have a car wash. They told me no one could help me on the 8th since my service advisor was not there. Once I left with my car, no one would take responsibility when I came back as requested on the 9th. read more

When I complained and decided to have my vehicle towed to another dealer, they decided to charge me 2 diagnostic fees. I have decided to pursue your handling of our transaction through the Florida DMV, which may not care for your sales tactics and not printing hardcopies of the transaction have me sign your cell phone instead of a real paper contract telling me that the contract would be adjusted with the finance department after waiting five hours for the finance department to give me a hard copy of my transaction I was given a flash drive and told everything had been adjusted when I got home. I saw that you did not correct the sales price to the advertise price then we have social media. Every time I'm given a timeline for my vehicle to be finished you can double it and then add another hour.

I had my car serviced here but there were issues with determining what was wrong with the car. After a week and a half of having the car in and out the problem was finally resolved. I think the service would have been better if they had enough staff to take care of all of the customers in a more timely manner. All total my car was at the dealership 4 whole days. First off, I want to say dealing with Bo was a good experience. He was professional and pleasant to deal with. The issue I have with Kia Southside is the rate they charged to fix my Sorento. I had a bad alternator and drive belt that needed replacement. With parts and labor, Kia Southside charged me just below $1,800.00. They overcharged me by about $1,200.00. If their rates were fair, they would have earned a customer and made more money in the future, instead, they lost my business. There is no way I will ever return to this location for car service. Do yourself a favor and don't go to this shop. read more

I will never go back. I waited over an hour for a shuttle bus to take me to the rental car agency. The waiting area is a toilet. I had to take a shower when I got home. My service advisor was very rude. The repair was covered under warranty but they refused to cover the rental car fee. The new Telluride was not cheap and then you have to all pay for rental cars. They have no clue how to fix a car. They tell me it's a gasket and o2 sensor and then tell me what I have been telling them that my car has excessive oil consumption and that is why my car is smoking and still is smoking. Then they say after $1200 worth of work is done they will need to break down and rebuild the turbo because it may be bad and then they told me if that is not the issue of the oil consumption they will need to break down and rebuild the engine. Ultimately they just want to squeeze as much money out as they can when Kia and Hyundai have defective motors and have heavy oil consumption issues which kill the engine. read more

I went in for service on 11.17.22. Kia has lost me as a customer, The previous service was about the same that visit I had to deal with "Seth" who was a complete ass. I requested service that time and got nothing. I sent correspondence about that visit but I think "Seth" intercepted the messages. This visit the tire pressure on all 4 tires was registering 40 when I left kia, however it has to be driven awhile to show but 39/40 gives you an idea. The oil change sticker is the same one I drove in with. The mileage on the picture with the tire pressure confirms it. I purchased an extended warranty when I purchased the Sorento. I was charged 404.00 dollars for this service, The coolant is registering half full not full, washer fluid near empty. I was charged 44.47 for coolant treatment and 17.10 for antifreeze. My brand new lug lock was missing from the pack. This makes me wonder what I paid for. Service provider "Bo" did contact me after I complained with the offer of a current oil change sticker, the missing lug lock and correct the tire pressure which was/is a joke, I can correct my own tire pressure. I drove 80 miles for that service. I let them pick it up to correct the issues. They brought the SUV back with a current oil change sticker, and a rusty lug lock. My lug lock was brand new still in the pack. Coolant level is the same, I was told that's standard ( charged 62.57). Did get a free gas fill up. Never again! read more

I would not have given a star at all except that i *had* to pick at least ONE. i called the dealership to verify a specific vehicle in stock. I was told that the vehicle was still available. I clearly stated i had a TWO HOUR DRIVE to get to this dealership, and arrived 15 minutes before the ETA I gave. Upon arrival i was told the car had sold 30 minutes before i arrived. Why not say "first come, first served" while i was on the initial phone call, BEFORE I DROVE FOR 2 HOURS??? Can you say "BAIT AND SWITCH"? Lesson learned. Buyers beware! read more

My telluride needed oil change so I took it in today Jan. 8th and got a free oil change but it took 21/2 hours. There was a nail in my tire and they charge me 43.00 dollars to plug it talk about rip off. read more

Do not recommend ! After getting in an accident last year, I shortly found out that they kept the extended warranty on my vehicle. The day after I purchased the vehicle I went back in and had them cancel it only to find out that they never did. After going back in to cancel it again No one admitted their fault. after calling a few weeks after to see if it had been taken off, it was nearly impossible to get ahold of the finance department. Continuing to call for days I finally got a hold of them and I can't remember the guys name but he was rude. then informed me that it takes 6-8 weeks for the extended warranty to be taken off. So I kindly told him that I wasn't informed about that when I went in about it. Stay away from this dealership! If you ask me they're all sneaky! read more
