    Secret Sesame Wings
    David K.

TL;DR We had a craving for chicken wings and tots and this place definitely hit the spot. If you're near Troutdale, you should go! (Went for the wings which were great, but the service made me give it 5 stars) Food - Secret Sesame Wings (4/5) - Sweet and lightly Spicy, pretty good. - Lemon Pepper Wings (5/5) Salty, spicy and sour, exactly what I was craving. And it was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. - Tots (Seasoned) Generous portion, well-seasoned. Service (5/5) - This was hands down the best service I've had at a food cart. The server offered a bag (for free, in this day and age), extra napkins, sauces (we got both), and did it all patiently and with a smile. Ambiance - It's a food cart area with indoor cafeteria seating.

Stopped here for a break during a road trip. Friendly staff, amazing crispy chicken sandwich. I'd definitely eat here again for a casual experience! The inside is clean and large cafeteria style as well.

Great boneless wings! Went for the Mango Habenero. A bit of a kick but not too spicy.

This last weekend was my 4th stay at Edgefield and let me tell you all my favorite things plus a…read morefew extra tips! - The vibe is perfect for anyone who is tired of the standard hotel. So much art to look at, curiosities tucked in every corner, space to roam and explore! - Get the passport to make your stay even more rewarding and fun! I love the scavenger hunts and the stamps force you to do things you might not normally do on your own accord. - The full pitch and putt course is a relaxing and a fun way to spend a few hours. It was only $25 per person and took us 3 hours. - I signed up for the Makers Tour and highly recommend it! Lots of tastings and great historical facts along the way. - The soaking pools at night were perfect to relax muscles right before bed plus no kids after 8pm. - This hotel doesn't revolve around children. The movies that were showing were rated R and most of the pubs and pool hall are 21+. Kids are welcome - but I've never seen that many kids around which I like, personally. - It's very Dog Friendly!! - The live music is incredible. I've been here for big concerts on the lawn plus mini concerts down the winery hall. They were all amazing. - It can get noisy between 7-11pm especially in weekends! The building is old - not sure about insulation and things! Bring some earplugs, a positive attitude and maybe enjoy an extra drink! Or go during the week for a quieter experience. - The food is a bit pricey but if you are doing the passport it makes a little more sense. Some of my favorites are the Cajun Tots, Portland Dip, any Burger, and the Bagel and Lox Breakfast is Incredible!!!

The Highlights * The Saltwater Outdoor Pool: This was the absolute highlight of our stay. The water is kept at a perfect 38°C (100°F), making it incredibly relaxing. I highly recommend visiting after 8:00 PM when the pool becomes an 21+ area. * Thoughtful Details: The robes provided were high quality and very comfortable. Pro-tip: Be sure to bring flip-flops for the walk to and from the pool area. * Art & Dining: The murals throughout the hotel are fascinating to look at. We also had great experiences at the on-site bars and the Black Rabbit Restaurant, where both the food and the service were excellent. The Room & Stay Quality We specifically booked a room with a private bathroom and shower. However, most rooms at this location utilize communal facilities. Unfortunately, our room was located very close to the shared bathrooms and lavatories. Due to a complete lack of etiquette from other guests using those facilities, it was extremely noisy throughout the night. Because of the poor sleep quality and the noise levels, we likely won't be staying here again. It's a beautiful property, but the layout and noise issues made it difficult to fully enjoy our birthday celebration.

This room seems to be an extra one they open for occasions. The waitress was sweet, maybe a little dingy, took 3 requests to get Mom a mimosa. When it came, it was bitter champagne at the top and oj at the bottom, and we had to ask for silverware to stir it. (They said they were short on them.) After 25 minutes of freezing we asked if we could be moved out of the room. Momma was turning blue! lol They accommodated us with the only table they had open, near the server's register, but it was a blessing. The food was exceptional but it did take quite awhile to get. My wife order the halibut sandwich since she is a vegetarian and really enjoyed the bread with fish. The kids menu is just as good as the adults; my daughter ate the chicken tender bites faster than she normally eats her food; so I know she actually liked it. The fruits that we ordered as her side were fresh and devoured with no issue by our 2 year old. To top it all off our server, Jason, was exceptionally thorough and hospitable. He connected well with the table and really added the to afternoon.

Wish they offered non pork option is the only complaint. I prefer turkey or chicken links. They do have vegetarian meat option though. everything was warm, comforting, and satisfying. The cozy atmosphere was one of my favorite parts: great lighting, clean space, and we could actually hear each other talk without shouting. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, which made it even better. After brunch, we walked around Edgefield and enjoyed the gardens and scenery it turned a simple meal into a full, relaxing outing. Definitely a great spot for a cozy brunch.

The Edgefield is right at the top of these favorites, and the Black Rabbit is a great spot for any meal at any time of day you choose. Service is always top-notch, and I've never had a meal here I didn't like. They have a great morning Bloody Mary that is garnished well enough to be a full breakfast. But for a less alcohol, alcoholic option, the menu overall is very good and I recommend you work your way through it. Given the restaurant chain's overall kitch , the ambience inside this restaurant is calm and welcoming but just funky enough to be fun. If you're staying here, eat here. If you're in the area, try it out. I'll be back the next time. I'm anywhere near Troutdale.
