Found this little gem while visiting Portland. Service is great, foods are fresh, the vibe is simple and modern. Highly recommended!

Dropped by for an early dinner. Garlic green beans off Happy hour menu for $7. Good flavor, right amount of heat. Felt pretty bare. Needs something... BBQ hamburger. $16. Wife liked it. Too thick of a tomato slice for me. Fries could have been crisper. Ribeye carne asada. $29. Meh. Meat was pretty tough and everything was pretty bland. Like a flat fajita only worse. I prefer La Carreta Wouldn't get it again. Service was fine. Timing could have been bette

friendly service and a unique variety of dishes, with many not easily found in this region. we definitely will be back to work our way through the menu!

Ceviche with shrimp, octopus and fish

My friends and I went there to celebrate a birthday party. I had drove by this little place in downtown Gresham often and wanted to check it out, especially after seeing those menu. The birthday girl and I ordered the chefs special which was picanha with chimmichuri, mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. This dish was delicious, rich, and filing. That cut of meat and how it was prepared was fantastic and melted in your mouth. One of my friends ordered the New York steak, no potatoes and extra veggies and the other two ordered the asada plate that came with beans, rice and tortillas. They all really liked their dishes. We also shared the ceviche with shrimp, mahi and octopus. It was fresh and cooked perfectly. Some places over cook the octopus, making it tough but not this place, the octopus was so tender. The chips that came with it were thick, salty and crunchy, great for scooping up the ceviche. I'm glad this place opened up in Gresham, we need more nice restaurants out here. I look forward to going again to try more dishes and I will definitely be taking more friends and family here so they can try this place out.

The got damn shrimp ceviche is AMAZING!!!!! This shareable appetizer is made fresh! I'm suing this restaurant because they got me addicted to this dish! MIND YOU, I never had ceviche in my life! Now I can't stop thinking about it! If you come here, please order this! You won't be sorry!

Pleasant substantial amount of shrimp in Alfredo. Chipotle linguine was sufficient. The tacos were fair. Chips were decent. Beer was cold :) Service was adequate. Atmosphere was clean.

Service was great, restaurant was empty. Food did not live up to the ratings although I gave it a three it was low three.. Halibut seemed to be a frozen bulk item that was fried. I really wanted to like this place but it was just so so. The fish and chips were overdone. Pricey for what we received. Taquitos were ok, dressing on the salad was very good.

They are also heavy on seafood so there are plenty of choices available. The lunch menu is just a shorter version of the dinner menu. There is a full bar with specialty cocktails. I ordered up sparking water to was down the guacamole and salsa with freshly cooked tortilla chips. M ordered up a mango margarita, it had a full rim of salt and spices, looks good. My Linner was a baja taco, one shrimp, one fish, M ordered the shrimp and cheese taco. I had to ask that the shrimp in our tacos would be shell off, our server confirmed, shell less. I asked because most of the photos on the menu show the shrimp with head, without head but all with shell on...I prefer not to fuss with peeling the just cooked hot shrimp. The guac was really fresh and good, the chips a bit over cooked. Then the drinks arrived and the entree's followed shortly there after Plain and simple three various taco's with some tasty refried & whole beans with your standard orange Spanish rice....hum. I guess it's a toss up on the rice, a unique almost Spanish rice with a flavor twist or the comfortable, household, everyday orange Spanish rice that won't scare anyone away. The taco's were great, fat with plenty of the larger shrimp (with no shell) cabbage and other stuff to fill the tortilla. We all enjoyed our meal and I would certainly entertain a return visit if we lived closer. By all means it's a great place to try what you like and maybe add something you wouldn't normally order to enjoy something new. Great Service! Thank you, Martin-foodguy

Right now Captain's Galley is hidden behind a newly arrived red psychedelic-painted Mexican food truck. The food is as delicious as ever. Fried but not greasy, no old oil taste. The breading in the clams, shrimp and fish has just the right amount of seasoning. They are so not greasy that I can eat them all as finger food and wiping my fingers off on a napkin doesn't leave greasy streaks. All are served with a little coleslaw, generous amounts of cocktail sauce, a spicy but not too much so dipping sauce, and the best tarter sauce I ever had in my life. I found something new to make me happy. They have delicious fish tacos! Before trying these I had fast food fish tacos that were more crunchy breading than fish. Captain's Galley brings the fish! Perfectly seasoned fish with toppings in proportion and a nice drizzle of sauce. Now when I go back it's a tough decision as to what to get. If you ever in your life liked New England clam chowder, get yourself on over to Captain's Galley for theirs. I've had New England clam chowder many times in New England and this is so much better! It comes with oyster crackers. This clam chowder is fresh enough that it can survive 2 days in the refrigerator and still be delicious.

Baked potato with all the things and steamed broccoli. My Wife had lobster and steak. My Mother In Law whose Birthday is a few days before mine had prawns. My niece had never been to R.L. she had snow crab for the first time and after a tutorial on how to get the meat out, made a mess but enjoyed every bite. I love Lobster Fest. I saw 1 commercial like a month ago and was hooked. I knew what I was going to order just by what the commercial advertised. I got exactly what was advertised. A lobster tail with a split lobster tail, so 2 lobsters, a baked potato with everything and extra sour cream and steamed broccoli. I ate the veg first, I knew I'd never look back after lobster hit my taste buds. I loved both the potato and the perfectly cooked broccoli. The scallops were also delicious. How could they not be? I dipped them both in drawn butter! I could have eaten another dozen scallops. They were yummy. The lobster... the lobsters. Oh yah. So good. Every bite cooked right and dipped in butter. I thought about getting a second dinner but held back. It's technically a good thing I did because the birthday guy had 4 maybe 5 Margheritas. Don't ask what kind. There were 3 different one's and the rim got confused at the bar and a bar manager, then the waitress from another table..... in the end, I got a free margarita! There wasn't a lot of talking during dinner because we all got serious when the food came out. My Wife gave me a bite of her steak. I almost ordered that same thing. My niece destroyed her snow crab and loved every bite. The birthday duo got free ice cream and a song. The song was fun but the ice cream.... After lobsters and margaritas I was full. I got my Wife to help me eat my ice cream but my tiny Mother In Law kept saying I can't eat all this, "I'm Full." She said that a couple times. She also said, "I'm full" after she ate all her ice cream. lol

Made the reservation with representative A, which was set for August 16th, 2026, at 5pm. We arrived at 4:30 on August 16th, my husband and I. A few minutes later hostess girl W, asked had we been helped, I told her no, as we are ealy and waiting on the rest of our party, She says fine, i will come back once most of your party arrives. When she returned, she stated there was some confusion, I asked what confusion, she goes on to say there is a party of twenty and a party of 11, she said we will figure it out, ok. We all were seated about 5:10pm. In another section there were no people no to mention there were no tables together for the other party. Once we were seated servers began to pull tables together, and get prepared for the other. Our server began taking drink order around 5:30. By this time the other party had taken their seats. Our server AD, began taking drink orders/appetizers on one side of the table, he left then came back and completed the side of our table with orders. The other party had 2 servers we only had 1, which was a set-up for the server, as he was set up to fail which he did. In short, the White table was assisted with 2 servers, that party had eaten, happy birthday was sung to their person, and they had to go boxes. By the time 7:05 hit my party had not even received food, and we were seated first and had a reservation. Discrimination at its best, dismissed, anxious, stressed, hungry, angry, disregarded and the service was terrible. The dining room manager R, was apologetic, but the damage had already been done. Server AD, was sweaty, clammy, and dripping sweat, and the chef was smiling and laughing, he needs to be fired. What should have been a beautiful celebration turned into an evening of regret.
