The spinach dip was especially phenomenal and came with pita and veggies. SO good. The Brussels sprouts were just mediocre - didn't have much flavor in it, the sprouts themselves were big and on the raw side, so they were crunchy and a little cumbersome to eat. I personally ordered lamb skewers, and that was PERFECTLY cooked - juicy, medium, flavorful onions, sauteed and marinated mushrooms, artichoke...SO good. The stuffed avocado was also a plus on the side because it complemented the lamb with its freshness and coolness. One critique I have of the lamb is it didn't come with anything else outside the skewers. If it was served with a rice or something lighter, it would have balanced out the flavor since the lamb itself was strong and richly flavored. We finished the night with some baklava, cheesecake, and mousse cake. The mousse cake was perfect and HUGE - enough to feed 2-3 individuals and not too sweet. The restaurant was very loud the entire time. The rustic decoration was nice, but the noise itself made it hard to carry a conversation across the table. Parking was full but still available. Went here 3x on our trip to Charlotte; when we find a great place we just keep going back. Menu items we tried: Mac & cheese: 5/5. Nicely browned on top and a delicious blend of cheeses. It's won awards and the judges were right. Trout: 5/5 Crispy skin and fresh. Veggies and quinoa complemented it nicely without overshadowing the trout's flavor. Best meal I had on this trip. Lamb kebab: 5/5 Big pieces of meat, well seared although one piece on the skewer was much more rare than the others. Avocado stuffed with quinoa: 5/5 Make sure you get this side: Good balance of flavor with red onion and cucumber. Sriracha aioli has a little kick to it. Am going to start making this one at home! Asparagus: 4/5 Massive portion, enough for 3-4 people. Too salty though. Other restaurants in NC were also heavy-handed with the salt. Crab bisque: ?? This was sold out every time we went so it's probably awesome, per other reviews. Lamb gyro platter: 3/5 Flavorful but some pieces too fatty. Spanish Octopus: 2/5 Overcooked and rubbery. Came here and ordered my usual... the lamb burger ! This is by far the best lamb burger I have tasted in Charlotte. I first tried this during Charlotte burger week a few years back and I have been hooked since. It's simply cooked to perfection and it pairs well with the potato chips. In addition to the burger I also ordered some spinach dip and it was very tasty. Aside from the food, they was an average wait of about 25min for either indoor or outdoor seating. Great lunch experience at Kid Cashew. I have been spending a lot of time visiting the hospital and have been doing a tour of the restaurants nearby to get a change of scenery and because the hospital cafeteria scares me. Kid Cashew is about half a mile from the hospital and is co-located with a few other great restaurant options. I wish I had caught the name of our server outside on the patio yesterday because he was fantastic. Fast, polite, helpful... all the things. The menu has a lot of great options, and it was honestly difficult to choose. There are small plates, salads, entrees, burgers and sandwiches, a vegan section, and what ultimately caught my eye: the small Pick 2 Lunch section in the bottom right corner of the menu. Any two items for $9.99, which considering the portions and quality of the food, is a great deal. You'll easily pay more in some fast food restaurants. Some of the Pick 2 items include a 1/4 lb burger, crab bisque, turkey sandwich, roasted asparagus, etc. I went with the 1/4 rotisserie chicken and the quinoa stuffed avocado, which is apparently one of their best selling items. I upgraded to all white meat for an additional $1.50. No sides come with the Pick 2, but they also aren't necessary since the portions are perfect for lunch. The chicken was seasoned perfectly. The white meat was nice and juicy, while the skin was crispy. My instinct is to slather rotisserie chicken with hot sauce, but it definitely was not needed in this case. Very nice. The avocado was the perfect ripeness and equally delicious. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from a quinoa stuffed avocado, but glad I ventured outside of my comfort zone. I wouldn't hesitate to return to Kid Cashew, and look forward to trying more of the menu! Price, speed, and quality make this an especially appealing lunch spot. read more

The food is amazing, regardless of what you order. I work at the hospital right across the street, and we recommend all of our parents and families to grab some togo food. Typically, our patients are from out of town and we consider it a must stop. Parking is great because it is no issues (specially when so close to the city). They have a patio area that allows dogs. The service has always been spot on. I have never had an issue with any service, my drinks (soft/sweet tea) always taste on point. Overall the ambiance is great. We typically sit outside, but in the colder days, inside is also nice. There is normally a big lunch and dinner crowd, so plan accordingly. Lastly, I can report on nice bathrooms lol. read more

Absolutely delish! I enjoyed everything about this place. The vibe. The food. The drink. I order the pear (vodka) I forgot what the menu name for it's called and the lamb kabobs. I know the picture looks as if the lamb was burnt, but it was cooked to perfection and very filling (I have a small stomach and was able to eat 1.5 of the kabobs) The greek sauces added that extra yum to the dish. Our server had a few short comings, but nothing major to complain about. It was a busy Sunday, the food was great, and his personality made up for his few mishaps. So I've been a patron of Kid Cashew for at least two years. I have to say tonight really surprised me... specifically the cocktails. I had the Lavender Lemonade. It was on a Thursday night so they were half off. I expected a watered down version of the drink (like I usually get from the establishment) but surprise surprise, to my delight the drinks were beyond awesome!!! They really put a foot in it. I thought they perhaps made a mistake and were heavy handed so I ordered another and it came exactly the same... perfect mixture of liquor and the lavender lemonade mix. It was just as awesome! The food here has always been a hit, but finally the cocktails have caught up and are just as awesome as the food!!! The service is fire as usual and Ned pulled out all the stops! I'm lactose so although I enjoyed my lamb skewers, the tzatziki sauce really messed up my stomach and it was all over the skewers. I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts! I've been visiting Kid Cashew for some time now and have generally had many good meals. I love the white beans and the roasted chicken. I ordered the lamb burger during an earlier visit and was really disappointed. They used to make the patties in house but it seemed like they purchased a food service product. I had hoped that was a temporary thing but apparently not. Today I ordered the lamb burger - again, heavy texture and way too salty. I could not taste lamb because of the excess of salt. Let me get the cons out of way. I'm not a big fan of being served cool to room temp water with no ice. I know ice machines are a pain to keep clean in restaurants but let me have a choice. When I asked for a straw, its brought to me unwrapped with bare hands. And almost placed on table. Could have been a better way. Silverware was placed bare on table. Please place on plates or napkins. House drink Goats Breastmilk was inconsistent. Glasses tasted different. Wish they all tasted as good as some we received. Now to the great. Grilled Octopus upon quinoa was very tasty. Could of been served a little warmer but cooked and seasoned very well. Grilled Asparagus was very good. Surprised to see lamb burger was 2 patties. Cooked medium well as requested. Chips were tasty. Nice liquor cabinet and good price on mimosas. Hopefully will return to try other things. We had ordered a chicken skewer tapas (meh), leg of lamb 16.95, and mountain trout 16.75?.95? On a positive note let me start by saying the interior was warm and visually inviting, the cocktails were on point and the Malbec was an excellent choice to carry our evening forward. 5 stars easily for the drinks. On the other hand, the lady (growing up in a country where goat and lamb are staple) couldn't stomach the lamb, it was very beef life in texture and tough. We have yet to send food back but in this case could not eat it. Not to mention side dishes were never suggested to us assuming we'd get at least one of the delicious looking options. I had ordered the mountain trout, flavor was very basic and it was overdone as well. The tomato and cucumber garnish was pleasant to look at and we ended splitting it, perhaps sitting on a bed of plain quinoa caused to the flavors to lack a bit but either way. The woman at the front door was prioritizing DoorDash pickups over dine in customers!! We were stuck in an alcove with all the DoorDash drivers and could hardly squeeze in the door. She practically yelled at us to close the door although we couldn't fit in the door. I told her that her colleague has assured me that if we showed up at 6:30 we'd be seated right away and she couldn't care less. She told us we'd have to wait 20 mins to be seated. Such a cluster. Really can't decide between 3 and 4 stars here. I wish there was a 3.5! I really liked the atmosphere-- It's a cute restaurant with a lot of good food on the menu. I loved that they have a lunch option where you can pick 2 items--it allowed me to try multiple things which was great. I picked the Quinoa stuffed acocado and chicken avocado sandwich! The stuffed avocado was good, but actually not as good as I was hoping for. I got tired of it quick and it was spicier than I expected. I've had better stuffed avocados elsewhere. I really liked the chicken avocado sandwich though! The bread was SO good--seemed like fresh homemade multi-grain. Between my 2 items, I'd definitely go with the sandwich! The service here was a bit slow and any meat addition to a salad was an extra $5 which seems like a lot to me. You quickly pay for a $16 salad instead of $11 which I personally don't think is worth it. I wish a choice of meat would just be included.
