We were vacationing in Charleston and took our daughter to Kids Adventure Cutz. A stylist named Lisa cut my daughter's hair (first haircut) and did an amazing job. However, the customer service goes well beyond the haircut. My daughter forgot her baby doll at the store. By the time we tracked it down, we were already back home in Virginia. A quick call to the store, and Lisa has mailed the baby doll back to us. Most businesses would never go to this level of customer service. We were blown away by the kindness of Lisa and the entire Kids Adventure Cutz staff and highly recommend them when deciding where to get a children's hair cut. read more

My son is a week away from 2 years old & has only had 1 haircut. He did horrible the first time (great clips). I decided to try and take him to a kid friendly place for his next haircut. We went to Kids Adventure Cutz today... a bit of a drive, but let me say- SO WORTH IT!!! He whined a few times but other than that he did great! He loves playing in the toy area while we waited. Just like the other reviewers... My 3 yr old grandson has never had a good experience getting his hair cut despite popsicles and standing on our head to distract and entertain. Kids Adventure Cutz was THE BEST! No appointment so you can choose when your child is rested, fed, feeling happy and make a spontaneous run. The movie was such a great distraction! I cannot believe he sat through the entire 15 min of no fuss, no squirming, no tears, and not even a popsicle. Afterward they have the kids pick out a toy and a lollipop. Check in online before you leave and it will give you the number in line you are and you can plan accordingly and let me assure you it is worth any wait. What a great place for kids! They really make the environment fun and entertaining. From the lobby area with plenty of things for the kids to play with to having games for them to pick out and play while getting their hair cut! Very reasonably priced too. My daughters had their hair ripped out of their head by Nicole and her beat up hairbrush. My 10yo's eyes were watering from her ridiculously aggressive brushing, and both complained about how rough she was even washing their hair. My 10yo had a knot in her hair, a normal everyday knot, and Nicole proclaimed that she would have to cut it out. My daughter and I were both horrified, and I told her to give me the brush and I'd get it out. She practically shouted at me that it wasn't good to rip through hair w/a brush, as she proceeded to rip through my daughter's hair! I asked her for a Wet brand brush bc I knew I'd easily get it out. She then proceeded to tell me that Wet brushes are the worst brushes bc the bristles are too short (they sell them at the cash register btw), and the wet brush she handed me had all the bristles mashed in to the cushioned backing part- like OBVIOUSLY they are too short, someone stomped all the bristles in?!? Her condescending comments were WAY too much, it appeared I annoyed her bc I got the knot out of my daughter's hair with ease even with their dilapidated brush! She really went in on the comments after that- making backhanded negative comments to my daughter about the health of her hair bc we didn't want to take off as much length as she suggested (my daughter has long white blonde beautiful hair that we were just trimming for back to school, not lobbing off or cutting a tangle out of!)...She said "Don't worry, sweetie, we'll get your hair healthy one day..." Even my 10yo was smart enough to get this condescending dig! As Nasty Nicole rang me up, she made one last little dramatic showing about the hairbrush saying "I'm just going to throw this brush out, I would NEVER use one of these brushes!" The brush should have been thrown out 100 years ago, no one would use that and you actually looked at it and still handed it to me!! We've been there a few times, I always thought it was a little rough around the edges but my girls like the braids and hair glitter so it was fine. But we won't be back again thanks to Nasty Nicole. We went for ice cream after to cheer them up after such an awful experience (we also waited for an hour and a half bc we were 5th in line for like 90 minutes), and when we passed by the "salon" to go to the car, both of my daughters started booing at it. They hated their experience with Nicole, and we'll never go back. read more

Took my 22 month old son for a much needed haircut & they were amazing! Unlike other places where you feel uncomfortable(at least I do) because your son or daughter dislike haircuts & they're screaming & crying; this place is not like that. My husband & I felt very comfortable & with all the squirming my son did, his haircut came out great! We have a 30-45 minute drive but we'll gladly make the drive again! read more

This place is great! My son loves it. There are toys in the waiting area and then individual TVs at each hair cutting station. There's a wide variety of DVDs and Xbox games for your kiddo to choose from, and this provides a great distraction so the friendly, skilled, and quick stylists can get the cut done before the kiddie attention span expires. We go often, and rarely have much of a wait, but if it is busy, they will let you sign in and come back later. Our favorite is that they do a Thursday special for kids & dads to both get their haircut for a discount. Yes, this is where I get my haircut too. They do well on big people heads too! read more

My 17 month old twin boys got their first haircut today and I am so glad we went to kids adventure cutz for this big milestone(at least for this mama it is). My boys have curly hair and it grew out pretty long so I was worried about their first hair cut. Paula was superb!!! She was friendly, quick, professional and she absolutely knew what she was doing with my boys hair. She cut it just perfect! The boys even got a treat and a certificate for their 1st haircut! Horrible experience and haircut! I took my son's there for his first haircut. The stylist Lisa needs some serious training, she butchered my son's hair. Give me a bowl and a pair of scissor and I will take care of your kids hair! She didn't listen to my request and cut my sons hair way too short . I even showed her a picture of what I wanted the haircut look like. Obviously the haircut doesn't look anything like the picture I showed her still she claimed it looked the same! I can't believe I let her cut my sons hair! Kids get a prison haircut. For $21 are you kidding me?!!! read more

Finding a good place to get your kids hair cut is never easy, we have lived here for over a year now and I pretty much avoid getting my sons haircut until it can absolutely wait no longer. He has the long surfer boy cut, it's so hard to get it right. We have been here twice now and both times we have left with a great haircut and a happy 5 year old. I also took my daughter, she is 8, she loved the place. The stylists are so nice and they listen to what you want, they are great with the kids. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I also love that it's so close to home, I would still drive across town for this place, it's just a bonus I don't have to. read more

We took my daughter and son to get their hair cut here this week! I was a bit nervous about it since it was a pretty good drive from our house in WA, but our kids were in need of haircuts badly! Once we got in, we placed our kids names on the list, after about 15 minutes, Paula took my son and had him pick out a movie, from there she took the time to listen to our ideas for his hair. She was so patient with him. This is the first time he has sat through a hair cut without crying! Paula also helped me figure out a style for my almost 2 year old daughter, and did a great job on her hair as well. Great place! read more

Worst salon I've ever been to. The 2 ladies cutting my daughter's hair acted as if they hated my children. Never smiled or welcomed them and pushed their head if they moved a tiny bit and didnt talk kindly whatsoever. I asked for my daughter to have shoulder length hair and she cut it at armpit length. I kindly (because I was scared of her chopping my daughter's hair on purpose) asked if she could cut it shoulder length. In a low, monotone, awfully rude tone she said "you sure". I said yes and she said "so you want it shorter". She was the most unpleasant person to ever be around children. Horrible, horrible lady. Other terribly rude things happened but this is already long and I hope no one brings their excited child there. It was awful and their hair isn't even cut well. I have to fix it with my own sheers. I searched out kid friendly places for haircuts and stumbled upon Kid Adventure Cutz. It was a bit of a drive, but SO worth it! My daughter, who usually hates getting her hair brushed, sat through the wash, cut & braiding with no problems. Add in the color and glitter and she was a happy girl! I took my daughter there for a haircut, she did have pretty long hair but I was very disappointed. It was completely uneven to the point where I didn't trust then to fix it. I will say that the 2 boys who got a cut while I was there, it looked great. Maybe they are more trained for boy cuts. read more
