Magic Garden is by far our favorite. My daughter loves it here, and I love sending her here. The teachers at Magic Garden have been fabulous. My daughter has been in the Starburst room - her teachers are very experienced, enthusiastic, fun, and encouraging. The kids spend time doing meaningful play-based activities while learning social skills, learning about the world around them, and gaining reading, writing, and math skills that will prepare them well for kindergarten. They do art projects every day and have ample time to run around outside in one of several beautiful playgrounds. One of the things I like best about Magic Garden is the enrichment activities that are offered. The children have Spanish once per week. In the fall they do gymnastics once per week. In the winter and summer they have swimming (at the BSC in Waltham or the local Lincoln pool), and in the spring the kids walk to the Decordova museum for art classes. They also do creative movement and fitness. As a working mom with limited time to drive the kids to activities, this is a huge benefit for me. Magic Garden's extended day program and year-round schedule also make it a great place for families with two working parents. We can't be happier with our choice to send our daughter to Magic Garden. It is a great community and a special place!

We appreciate how the head of the center fosters a sense of community through teacher appreciation and parent/teacher/child events. Dr Fernandez is very open and clear about their protocols and what is expected from the children as far as contact between kids, mask wearing, and hygiene, which was very reassuring and made me feel comfortable sending my son. They also have a large outdoor space where they spend a significant amount of time in the summer months. My son absolutely loved his time there and always had something fun to tell me about when I picked him up. He enjoyed the weekly themes and the crafts and activities that go along with each week's theme. My son had clearly made a genuine connection with many of the staff and other kids there in just three short weeks, which I believe reflects greatly on the caring nature of the staff and nurturing atmosphere that they create.

The staff is always engaging with students, checking-in, and making them feel heard and seen. Waltham Childcare Center is also dedicated to preparing their students for Kindergarten. My son, who will be 5-years-old this October, has made tremendous gains in his social-emotional learning, counting, letter identification and speech. As a teacher myself, their curriculum and learning instruction are outstanding and I have no doubts that my son will enter Kindergarten hitting every benchmark and then some. Luciane and Peggy provide a sense of structure that all children need, while also allowing for creative play and exploration throughout the day. The mixed age group allows the younger kids to learn from the older kids and it allows the older kids to have a sense of leadership and develop empathy and compassion for others. Children's Connection really has it all: from the daily trips to Beaver Brook Park (not to play on the playground, but to run in the fields, hike the trails, climb the trees, explore near the stream, and even go sledding or play in the spray park when the conditions are right), to the daily catered lunches by My Other Kitchen, to the weekly email rundown of the previous week's events supplemented with pictures (Luciane took more than 5,000 this year alone!), to the yearly Carnival celebration and end of year slideshow for parents.
