This place is hit or miss. Great if you have a baby but as the kids get older (i.e. preschoolers) the clothes & toy selection really are not great....as another reviewer said, a lot of the clothes are either really run down or overpriced. (With one exception - they do have a great Halloween costume collection.) I have found a few good toys (when my son was younger). One time, an expensive Leap Frog train set we purchased there just died w/in a day and wouldn't ever start again...I was really happy that the ladies in the store (the owners?) fully refunded my money. So, great for babies things....but guess it's time to hit the retail stores for my preschooler. :( read more

The staff if VERY rude! It seems like they make up prices when you go to sell items here! Items are very overpriced and always dirty! The toys are good for the price and thats the only thing I'll go there for. I've been to so many kids resale stores and this one is by far my least favorite! This store is amazing. Of the children's consignment stores that I've been to, this one has the best selection of clothing for both baby & mom. I've found fantastic infant clothing that was in excellent condition. My wife has found nursing tops that sell for 3-4x's as much in other stores. I've been a customer here since I was a little girl and now I'm a customer with being a mommy to my little girls. It's nice that there's a place to go to when searching for something you may not want to spend full price on when your little one won't need it long, and it's nice to know it's not a place that you'll go to once and then they go out of business like so many other places I've been to. I love this place! I live in Long Beach and drive out there to find treasures for my baby. We've found some amazing deals and the best part is what you trade in you get store credit, that never expires, and I've been able to get what he needs off credit. Their pricing is very reasonable and would shop there first before I buy anything new. The owner is an awesome person that is easy to get along with and so very nice. She's the mom of consignment. I have been shopping at Kids Double time off and on since I was pregnant with my first son and he is now 23 years old. Marcia and her staff are professional and very helpful. It's a great place to buy everything from clothing and playpens to books and toys. There are no resale stores in the area that can compare to Kids Double Time! We have been selling our gently used items to this store for a few years now. They dont give you much for your items but it is better than nothing and more than what you would get if you had a garage sale. We bought several items from them. Very nice and friendly service. The store apperance could use some work. Asside from a interior paint job. They could remove Or clean out some display items. For example a large doll house they have in the front window, that is old and not clean(dust bunnies). Removing tape from windows and cleaning them occasionally would improve apperance. Ofcourse we dont go there for the apperance but who likes to browse through clothes in a dusty and sometimes musky smelling store? It maybe time to toss that carpet and put some vinyl tiles. Hosing down those used strollers and car seat bases would also be nice. Regardless i will continue shopping there because there is always some good finds. read more

Highly recommend this store! Went in for an extra car seat base, but they had just sold the last one in the model I needed that morning. They took down my name and number and called me as soon as they got one in (which happened to be the next day!). This is a great little shop and the staff are very friendly and helpful. They have a big selection, all of the clothes are in good condition and prices are fantastic. My wife did not have a great experience with the manager, the manager tried low pricing the clothes my wife brought in and then continue to throw out my wife's bag of baby stuff out the door when my wife asked why such low prices. What a treasure! Over the years we've had two kids who are eight years apart grow up using clothes, furniture and toys we found at Kids Double Time. There's always something new! The constantly changing inventory is amazing! However, If ever we couldn't find a specific item we'd just let Marcia know and as soon as she found it she'd call us. This was my first time going to a second hand store for maternity clothes. They have a small section in the back. The clothes for the most part are in very good condition. Most of them are Motherhood & Target brands. It was definitely a good deal for me, seeing how Motherhood is a bit expensive, especially when I'm only going to use these clothes for a few months. Clothes were half off retail price, comparable with Ross, but better quality & selection of clothes for sure. The store is practically bursting at the seams with clothing and baby gear like bouncers, bassinets, and carseats. It's a second hand store so while I'm not expecting it to look like Saks, it could use a little tidying up. Other than that, I'll definitely be back for more maternity clothes as the weather gets warmer. I'd check this place out when baby gets here for some baby clothes & books too. I have been taking clothes, baby gear and clothes here for the past three years. I have been generally pleased receiving a credit for the things I brought in and using that credit for new clothes,books and toys for my kids. It is definitely a hit of miss store but we have found some nice items and just recently got a tricycle for my son. Just be careful with your credit slip. They don't keep track of your credit with the store. I was in yesterday and then forgot I had the card in my pocket and ended up washing the card. They said there was nothing they can do unless I can find the card. It didn't survive the wash so I am out that credit. read more

My daughter is six now, and I've been going to this store since she was born. I love this store. The clothes are in great condition and there is always alot to choose from. I primarily buy clothing, but also have purchased books, toys, a brand new sleeping bag, shoes, furniture...you name it they have almost everything. This review is long overdue, but their service is still so memorable, I had to write. I came in late one afternoon/evening having to buy a bunch of toys to help a fill a VRBO home with kid activities and toys. The ladies, Stephanie and I forget the other woman's name, were SO kind and helpful. They made great suggestions and stayed late while I tried to grab anything I could find... which were lots of fun random toys and videos. I felt bad that it was closing time, but they were super. This place is great! The selection is wonderful and is always changing. The prices are awesome. I love that I can call and ask if they have a certain item available. I have been coming to this store since my daughter was almost 2 years old ! It's been almost 8 years ! The ladies are great and I always try to trade my stuff in for credit so I can shop. Some things they can't take because they have too many or just not in season. Every year I have shopped for my daughter for school , their clothes are in great condition! I have found little mermaid bed sheet sets , princess pajamas and beautiful pea coats there ! Some days are a hit & miss but overall I'm super happy with what I find ! My daughter and I love to go there first , to see what they have , it's like treasure hunting ! They have great deals, great clothes & awesome Halloween selection ! i went there last week after going on a craigslist baby shopping spree, and it was right down the street from a lady i picked up an item from. i didn't get to look around that much the first time, but as soon as i got in, i saw a really good bassinet for $30. it then became mine. i went back today without my bf to take a longer look around (guys hate to shop). i agree that the toys can do with a cleaning, and some aren't in the best condition. i didn't pay much attention to clothes, but they have a ton of books (i bought maybe 20 today, including vintage sesame street books). they have a lot of baby furniture, car seats, strollers. some prices are great, some so -so, but this place is at least worth checking out. some prices are pretty comparable to what you'd find on craigslist. read more

I purchased all of my grandson's necessities from them....car seat, baby gym, walker, baby gates, swing, bouncer, etc,, etc. Kids Double Time has everything you need at unbelievable prices. I sound like a commercial, but I can't help myself. Now that my grandson is 11 months old, I have taken some of the purchases back and received store credit to buy other things he needs. I had visited Double Time for a Dodgers jersey to see if I could get lucky, I did, but I also wanted to check out some other stores to see what they had. When I asked if they could hold my item, they replied yes in a very unpleasant, "I don't want to be here" attitude. When I called them back after I went to a few other stores (finding nothing), it was around 6 o'clock, and I was hungry. I asked if they could hold it for about a half hour, so my daughter and I could grab something to eat, they almost yelled into the phone "NO! We will not hold it for any longer!". I was astonished with their behavior, and I went back to KDT in silence with my daughter and bought our item. I vow to this day to never, ever go back to Kid's Double Time. read more

The first time I visited the shop, I was just planning on looking around. This store has everything you can imagine, it's clean, and no recalled products. She even donates stuff that doesn't make the quality standards. Last time I went in and actually traded in items I had that had not sold online. It was so easy and then fun to go shop for new things. She has clothes, toys, costumes, bows, DVDs, tons of toys, tons of books, all different baby items (strollers, bouncers, etc.), and more. Kids double time is a huge store and is very organized with several separate departments. Kids clothes newborn to 16, maternity wear and some sports wear. We love this store! My friend and I were pregnant at the same time when we discovered this South Bay gem. She bought a crib and changing table and I bought maternity clothing. My daughter is now thirteen and we still come about once a month. I have traded many things like Barbie items and outgrown clothing books and toys.
