This wonderful shop offers some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. Recently I've been working on some challenging birthday gift projects that require personalization. The staff at The Monogram Shoppe has patiently given me all the time needed to help work up my designs, as well as providing their own great creative input. All that, and their prices for embroidered monograms are extremely reasonable. They'll do screen-printing, too, I learned. Bring in your own items to be personalized or choose from quality selections in the shop. They sell some clothing, hats, aprons, blankets, pillows, robes, totes, tees & more.....not everything is on display so if you don't see it, just ask because it might be stored in the back of the shop. There are baby & child sizes available. My first two projects were completed to perfection in just a few days. Now I'm working on a couple more. Best of all, I'm having so much fun. Be aware that the shop is closed Sunday & Monday. There's a small private parking lot for the handful of independent stores on this block. Otherwise, metered street parking all around. Or....park free on Catalina north of Ave I & walk a couple blocks. read more

Beyond great. I spent the last 20 minutes trying to rate TMS six stars, only to find out they go up to five. Must have a talk with the Yelp people. I could go on and on, but what is important to convey is three things. Lisa does great work. Never look past expertise, and Lisa has much. Second, she is prompt. She did an embroidery job for the daughter's jacket, and we were beyond excited with the quality (and cost) of the work. Lastly, and most importantly, she cares. She understands that her work product is important to people, and she is passionate about her service. It would be great if she offered COVID vaccinations at her store, but that's beyond her control (smile). read more

I was not expecting this experience based off the reviews and research of this company. What I received was a total lack of professionalism and accountability from employee, Lisa. Here it goes: I called this place on a Thursday and spoke with Lisa about an item that was advertised and available on her website. I was almost going to purchase it online, but good thing I did not; I chose to call the store directly to order it over the phone instead. The initial phone call with Lisa was great; I asked her if she had the medium brown bed still available, and she said "I just sold it last week" (update your website then). She essentially assures me she can get the product, but it might be a different color than I wanted to which I indicated was no problem at all. She says she just needs to text the woman who owns the company (wholesaler) to get the product and she'll call me back. Mind you, during this initial conversation, she proceeds to talk up the amazing product and takes down my complete shipping information. I hang up happy and eager to hear about what color I'll be receiving. Thursday evening rolls around, and I get the feeling something's up, so I hop online to her website, and low and behold, the item(s) are ALL listed as "sold out." Sizes and COLORS. Friday rolls around, and I finally call her about 20 mins before closing time because I know she's not calling me. Lisa answers, and she immediately tells me that the woman she purchases the product wholesale from was supposed to call me. Excuse me, what? I told her that I did not get a call, and now I'm wondering why this lady should be calling me when I initiated business with Lisa, not her; it is not the wholesaler's problem to solve. She proceeds to tell me how she can't give me the price that she advertised the item for, she only gets 30% off at wholesale, that they are way more expensive now, and that she "hasn't updated her website in two years due to Covid." Okay, not okay, why am I hearing this? What does this have to do with me? The appalling thing is, not ONCE did Lisa apologize to me. As a retail business, your job is to satisfy your customer and be humble and apologetic if you can't, especially when it's your mistake. Be humble and apologetic about your false advertising and for the fact that your website hasn't been updated in two years. Do your research with your wholesale people FIRST before you practically guarantee product delivery to a customer by taking down their complete shipping information and talking about how much they will "LOVE" it when it arrives. Instead, I received nothing but excuses, defensiveness, and even rudeness out of nowhere from Lisa: "I'm not gonna call you at 10:00 at night." Did I imply that? No. Isn't that obvious? I guess not to everyone. Regardless, I stayed calm and asked how the situation would be resolved. Her response: "Do you want the number for the wholesaler?" No, and it is totally condescending and unacceptable that you would ask me that. read more

Recently I decided that I would like some monogrammed shirts to wear during the warm summer months; both for my comfort and to help increase our branding efforts. I requested a sample shirt without our logo from one of the many online stores and was disappointed. On top of that, I had to pay for return shipping to send the 'free' sample back. Rather than keep trying samples sight unseen, I decided to buy shirts I liked from a local retailer and have them monogrammed 'offline' as well. My search led me to the Monogram Shoppe, as it is near my office and would give me the chance to support another small business. They did a fantastic job at a very reasonable price. Super sad and disappointed to leave this review as I love monograms and supporting local businesses. Unfortunately I made the mistake of bringing my graduation sash here to be monogrammed with my initials and MSW. I was surprised that upon pick up, the sash was already wrapped in tissue paper and bagged. Typically custom work is shown to the customer upon completion to ensure satisfaction. When I opened the sash at home I was shocked and disappointed to see that the monogram was slanted, uneven, and uncentered (as evidenced in the attached photo). Also, the C kind of resembles a G. We brought the sash back into the store where the employee claimed that she "could not see it" and that it doesn't matter anyway as I would be "only wearing it for one hour." I don't care if I planned to wear it for 30 seconds, I paid for a professional service and received shoddy work with obvious poor attention to detail. Frankly I am embarrassed to wear this sash to graduation, when it is the Monogram Shoppe who should be embarrassed to have such unprofessional work shown to the public. It is almost laughable that a company would provide this sloppy work to a customer and pass it off as acceptable. read more

I'm not sure how much they charge per letter or how it works but I ended up paying $35, which was kind of expensive for me (being a college student lol) but it was worth it. Paid $18 to get "Mrs. Chadbourne" embroidered for an engagement gift. The person taking my order was helpful in picking out a font. However, when I received the finished product, I was very disappointed. The placement of the embroidery was terrible. It was supposed to be centered on the pocket but the empty space on the left side is 2 7/8" inches while the empty space on the right side is only 1/2" inch. It was also placed near the top of the pocket instead of centered vertically on the pocket. If they were confused about placement, they should have called before proceeding. The embroidery was uneven as there is more space between the words "Mrs." versus "Chadbourne" (double the amount of space in "Mrs" than in "Chadbourne"). I've never had embroidery complaints about my embroidered Pottery Barn items and embroidery is not their business. I'm appalled that a business specializing in embroidery could be this bad. Clearly, they didn't even do a sample on a separate piece of fabric to make sure the placement and size would be accurate. When I told them I was unhappy with the product, they just said it looks nice. They did not apologize or try to offer a discount. read more

All I can say is that Karen and Michelle are AWESOME!!! I found out at the last minute that I could walk in my graduation ceremony, so I only had 2 weeks to order my sash from my school and then have it customized. I called a bunch of other places that had been reviewed on Yelp and either they needed more than a week to do the embroidery, or they were too busy, or they didn't even call back. The Monogram Shoppe said it would take about 5 days depending on what I needed but to come in and talk to them. At this point I didn't care about color, thread, font, I just wanted my sash so when I got there I told them "I trust your judgement" and they did not dissapoint me! read more
